  1. Thanks for that - tuner finally came back to me and has said the same thing. He said can install a good atmospheric pressure sensor but if you do not go across that road (desert road north island NZ) than not really required. He has seen it before on customers cars and his car also. Thanks for the help
  2. Well not really. Before it was modified it was fine in altitude. Now the AFM's are gone and there is an aftermarket ECU it was not running fine. So there are alot of changes since then.
  3. I was driving my R32 GTR at altitude on the weekend and it ran like a dog up there. Really unresponsive and laggy and when at 5-10km/h it was jerky pretty much a dog. Once I came out of altitude (3000+ feet) it started to drive fine again. I know the air is thinner up there but i wasnt expecting such a change. I have had the car up higher before but that was with AFM's and standard computer. Any ideas?
  4. Yeah really good point - keep them onside by not going off your rocker but keep been a squeaky door so they don't forgot about it. I am in NZ and I have heard CRD do some good work/builds. Would expect it to be sort and running mint. I think you should get more power out of 98 than you did and a $1600 tune seems a lot and not sure why it all wasnt done before it left the shot (E85 etc).
  5. Still not sorted? Take it back to them ASAP. Just incase something actually goes wrong and the engine does go pop.
  6. Wow this sounds like a cowboy shop. I cannot believe it. I know sometimes things happen but they should be able to diagnose and fix real quick. I had a O-Ring break on my oil cooler (at the block) I was leaking oil all over. The engine builder got it in the next day even though he was busy and had it fixed tested and tested again to make sure. Mine was also more expensive than the prices I was given but thats the price to pay when modifying cars. Keep it with them though - Give it back and say you do not want it returned until it is 100% fixed.
  7. Sorry I missed the PSI. I would have said coils as well but looks like you replaced those.
  8. Awesome. wish i could. no where to park.
  9. Well summer is officially done and dusted here in NZ. Had my engine built in my R32 and running just on the eve of summer and in that time ticked up 10,000 KM's of motoring (not a daily driver). Engine has held together and is running beautifully. Thought that was a good effort on a new motor. Do alot of you drive long distances in GTR's? What is a good year for motoring miles? One guy a know had a pretty identical setup to mine and he did 100,000 km's before he blew his motor (10 years) - now gone Tomei 2.8L.
  10. I use RE002's and they are the best tyre i have used. In saying that I have not used alot of mid/high end performance tyre's. I have no problem with them running 500 WHP
  11. so his trap speed was less but time was better with the extra shift. Wonder how much softening the suspension helped. im pretty interested in this convo. I can see both points been a fine line and valid.
  12. I have seen multiple videos and talked to some people and even the the extra shift (r34 getrag) and R32 ran a 10 over old 11 second passes. So I think that equals real world speed and response. I understand that the tops speed is slightly down (not buy much) and engine RPM at 110km is about 300rpm (odd) more. Also talked to someone that said even with his big HKS 2530's (505kw atw's) he said the 6spd conversion with 4.11 ratios has been one of the best modifications to real world speed. I know boost doesn't come on earlier in RPM but have heard good things. Enough for me to take it into serious consideration later in the year. Let me run a 1/4 in the coming summer season and then when 3rd goes run it again with the getrag haha.
  13. Keep it off the limiter when driving..thats all i can say.
  14. I wouldnt call that an illusion haha. It comes out to real world speed. Just like 4.11 ratios with the Getrag box
  15. I assume there will still be exhaust rules around where it has to exit the car. haha. but yeah just make a side exit pipe.
  16. 2 GTR's....the man. my 2 cents.
  17. I think that is singapore isnt it?
  18. RB stands for "runs bearings at 68,000km's". AKA - car has alot more KM's on it.
  19. Nissan must have some specs out there somewhere for its hardware. They will know the tolerances. Come on nerds lets find it and settle this.
  20. http://sthitec.blogspot.co.nz/2014/03/limit-of-stock-conrod-rb26.html Here is the engine I mentioned.
