  1. I have read lots of threads on this forum, plus plenty of information elsewhere, and as a result am about to take the plunge on an upgrade on the stuffed viscous 4.11 diff in my 1998 R34 GTT Series 1. My plan is to buy a complete Aus S15 helical diff unit (ie front housing, 3.67 crown & pinion, helical diff centre) and provide that along with the diff unit from my R34 to a differential specialist. They will remove the S15 helical diff centre and rebuild the R34 diff, keeping the std 4.11 gear set and reusing the side flanges to suit the R34 GTT drive shafts. Once they are done, I reinstall the rebuilt diff unit in my car using the existing drive shafts. Please let me know if there are fundamental errors in my plan before I go and splash the cash. To answer the inevitable questions: - Yes, I know a R34 GTT Series 2 diff is also helical, and would be an easier replacement, however, I have been looking for one unsuccessfully for the last 2 months and given up - Yes, A 1.5 or 2-way would be better for the track/drags, but this is primarily a road car that will see the occasional track day, and a helical/torsen diff is better suited to that use. - Yes, I could change to a shorter diff gear set (eg 4.3:1), but this is a road car. See above answer. Thanks David
  2. Car: SKYLINE R34 GT-T Part Description: LSD centre P/N: Nismo 38420-RSS15-B5 Qty: 1 Thanks for the opportunity.
  3. Looking for a torsen diff/centre from a series 2 R34 GTT, or a 1.5 way diff/centre to suit an R34 GTT Will pay up to $400 for a compete torsen diff. Can pickup within a few hundred km's of Sydney
  4. Probably worth mentioning the car colour, and whether it is a series 1 or 2
  5. Time to replace the viscous unlimited slip diff in my R34 Series1 GTT. So I am looking for either an entire diff or just a centre, either a torsen from a Series2, or an after-market 1.5 or 2-way locker such as from Cusco or Kaaz. I can pickup anything with a few hundred km's of Sydney. Please contact me if you have a suitable diff or centre to sell.
  6. Thanks GTSBoy. I will check around just in case a torsen is available, otherwise like GeeDog, go for an after market diff centre.
  7. I bought a 1998 R34 GTT Series 1 a few months ago, as a daily'ish driver and for occasional track outings for my son and I. As far as we know this car has the original viscous LSD. It is producing 165kW ATW. The car had it's first track day over the weekend and we found that it just wanted to spin one of the back wheels everytime we tried to accelerate. The tyres on the car are nothing special, but this was ridiculous. A quick "test" on a gravel area (away from the track!) showed that it only ever spun one rear wheel. I suspect our limited-slip diff is no longer limited much! :-) From reading this forum, and elsewhere, it looks like the we should replace the diff with something better, but which is still streetable. My understanding is that the suitable options are: 1. A complete mechanical (torsen?) rear diff from an R34 Series 2 GTT manual, which would be a drop in replacement. This sounds like the best option, with least mucking about, and best suited to our street/track mix 2. A complete rear diff from an R34 GTR. Not sure if this is a drop-in replacement? I believe they have a 2-way LSD, so it will be less streetable than the R34 GTT torsen. 3. An after-market 1.5 way (eg Kaaz) diff centre, either new or used, which could be installed in our existing housing with the current gearset by a diff expert. More work (and cost?) with the result being better for the track that option 1, but less civilised on the street. 4. A clutch/torsen type mechanical diff from earlier model Skylines (R32/33), although that may require replacing other parts, eg driveshafts. If we can't keep the ABS that is a showstopper for this option. Any other options, or comments on those I have listed please?
  8. I'll take the centre console, if it is in good condition, and you are prepared to send to Sydney at my expense
  9. Have a look here for circuit times, many of which are at Wakefield Park http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/46199-sau-circuit-times/
