  1. emission tests are usually done at the RTA at the botany depot, im not sure if that is covered in the engineers cert tests, i don't think it is actually. Anyway, i think it is well worth it as it certainly does give you peace of mind when driving around and knowing you can't really be defected. Greg and the lads at autosport engineering in Kirrawee did mine As for exhaust volume, i think mine was like 94dB at one point, the mic was situated like a metre away from the car or something *shrugs* So long as u got the certificate and keep it or a copy in your glove box at all times then you should be sweet Also, when/if you get it, make sure you register it with the RTA or the slip don't mean jack
  2. so can anyone confirm what work needs to be done and a rough price estimate for the work?
  3. shire fullahs? any shire people wanna head down with me? going down heathcote road the marrying up with the m5 there, to avoid tolls (im a cheap ass), better drive too
  4. As if it bloody doesn't What's so special about BP ultimate anyway? I just use what ever premium im closest to, whether it be vortex, optimax, synergy 8000 or what ever
  5. yea you better!
  6. As for the shire, im cruising from Kirrawee (dunno if Sproosy will be coming) and then hitting heathcote road and hooking up with the M5 down there (avoid the tolls), if any of you guys wanna come with? So is the destination like a "super secret" place? I think my head is pointing to warragamba, but that's less than 2 hours away *shrugs*
  7. so if they are meant for an RB20, why do they need to be modified to fit to an RB20?
  8. don't think it'd be worth the money it'd take to do it legally, plus, once you have a crash then say bye bye to the setup.
  9. salesman will say almost anything, trust me, i used to be a salesman in the sporting retail industry, it's like that everywhere. Cops don't care how discreet it is, the pods have to be boxed up and secure
  10. hmmm, now the challenge to get spotted =/
  11. i got like 3 changes to my intake and the RTA didn't say a word when i rego'd it, it was in the engineering cert. As for emissions test, it aint just your noise, all your gasses are read etc, it's very tough to pass. Make sure your ECU is standard too
  12. yea greg had that black S13 with the RB26. As for budget, i'd allow atleast $10000, ATLEAST. The labour will probably kill you on it, best case scenario, you'll be looking at around $80/hour, engine - $6000? I think it'd be atleast (never talked to anyone about doing it) 6 hours labour or something, then the wiring/auto electrician, parts fabrication, engineering (i payed $770 for the certificate and inspection, ended up paying around $1200 all up including certificate, inspection, and mods). So save your pennies and don't really consider it untill you have more than 10g's up your sleeve. this sound about right to you lot?
  13. greg at autosport engineered mine, did the blueslip and greenslip while they were at it too. No complaints from me at all or the RTA for that matter
  14. very very good luck getting it legal without having a $20 000 odd budget. There is/was a HR31 GTS-x for sale with a VG30-DET on the 31 skyline forum
  15. maroon 33 GTS-t spotted on port hacking road sylvania, cruised with it to cronulla: NILE8U Also pulled up to a black 33 GTS-t in cronulla to see if they needed help as they had their bonnet up on the side of the road
  16. got a wave from a guy in a white 32 GT-R (or GTS-t with a GT-R kit) yesterday on flora st in kirrawee, didn't have time to wave back as i was putting my seatbelt on, saw him again on the kingsway in cronulla later that night, or it might have been friday night/arvo? i can't remember yea i think it was friday
  17. there's a place in kirrawee, can't remember the name of the street, same street as the back entrance of maccas, it's like next to cronulla car sound, you just go in from the back and go upstairs into like a bike shop or something. I think it's called monroe avenue or something.
  18. oops, accidentally missed this one, lol was the day i got my car on the road
  19. how did u get to the formal if the clutch died? lol, i saw it pissing out smoke before u pulled into the servo. Both cars were nice, except i had to split and go to my gf otherwise i would have gotten the lecture of my life
