hrmmm watch this space, twin turbo RB20 R31 has arrived today, drove it down to autosport engineering to get started on it. The previous owner said it made around 160rwkw and the mods are as follows: FMIC, twin turbo setup using RB26 turbos and manifolds, 3" exhaust with 3" hi flow cat, 700hp fuel pump (have to ask him what brand or dig up the receipt), heavy duty clutch (once again have to dig up the receipt or ask him), microtech LT8 ecu, twin pod filters. I must admitt, when driving it, it did feel like it went hard, even though i wasn't pushing it too hard, but the figures he told me were, well, somewhat lower than what i'd expect with this sort of setup. ATM it's running 9psi boost and injectors are at max or very close to max duty cycle (standard RB20 injectors, had some 800cc/min ones on but the bloke said they were meant for rotors to he took em off and went back to standard as they were stuffing up or something). Can anyone tell me if these figures look about right? I might get it re-dynoed/do another power run once it is engineered to see for myself. anyway, would these figures be fairly typical of a setup like this? (not common, but if you go off factory turbo specs it might give you some idea/grounds for comparison)

R&G smash repairs, cheap enough, good quality work. Located on Waratah st in kirrawee, don't know the number off the top of my head though. My step brother's mate andrew does some great work too, haven't got his number on me, pm me if interested.

it's basically like a timing belt job isn't it?(correct me if im wrong) which is like 3-4 hours, depending on the type of engine If so, start looking for a place with a decent labour rate, as that quite often is the killer, and a $10 difference/hour can save you quite a bit.

was already in aus, brought it down from QLD, because it is from qld and the level of mods it needs engineering and a blueslip first. It is currently sitting at autosport engineering, near SSPI if you want to go down and take a peek, it's the black 2 door R31 with the GTS-R rims. It's already been complied etc. Was a private sale through R31 club forum so yea, it's going to be tight for this cruise, real tight

$350 + postage i assume? How much for postage to sydney, postcode 2232? If i am not mistaken, it can be upgraded to the dual solenoid, am i correct?

what is the max pressure it can hold? Does it display what boost it is currently set at, or do you have to turn and keep an eye out on the gauge? (like manual controllers)

i've never copped abuse, ever, if anything i've only gotten compliments. Once from a bloke in a mustang and another guy in one of those new falcon GT thingos, i think the bloke in the falcon liked the fact that it was a 2 door (R31). Then i had some apprentice plumbers or something look at me for a while and then one of them asked how much it puts out, though i think the exhaust note is what made them ask, was like a deep grumble sound, it was a silvertop RB20 with a turbo back exhaust, allot of people thought it had big cams in it. Also had a mechanic who drove an old falcon say my 31 was "phat"(his manager told me :S).I think it's different for R31 owners, i dunno. All i know is that i'd bloody go beserk if someone threw something at my car or anything.

don't waste your money on aftermarket BOV's, your standard ones work a treat. Pod filters, you don't have to, the mines car is still using the standard airbox with a panel filter upgrade. GT-R cooler is good for 300 odd kw, as mentioned above, the just jap race car still uses the stocker. Go for an exhaust, aftermarket ECU, an EBC and some cam gears to start off with and then go from there. Next thing after that will probably be a fuel pump, clutch, maybe injectors, cams, more boost? upgraded turbos? Anyone?

i think their idea of standard is that it isn't modified once it's bolted onto the car americans + imports + respect = non-existant Not since they stuck neons and chrome spinners and shit on them, and purge systems galore (no offence 2rismo , but you gotta admitt they take it too far), but they take wank to the extreme.

meh, had my formal at taronga, been there done that , minus the skylines and plus a falcon GT :S Anyway. Update: Car SHOULD be coming off the car carrier on friday (hopefully) and into the workshop for engineering on either friday arvo or monday. It's going to be tight, but i will hopefully be there in an RB20DETT HR31 GTS-x Skyline (yes no typo, RB20DETT )

hey guys, i spoke to just jap today and they said they were flat out so they may not be able to do a conversion for me if the need arises (or just a straight swap). Can anyone reccommend me any places that will do the swap/conversion for a competative price?

if you are being serious, then no, they aren't. Maximum noise generally points to a bad thing, meaning they are attention seaker BOV's which are designed just for that, maximum noise. You can hear the stocker pretty well if you have a POD and a FMIC. If this is a pisstake, then all you need to do to make them one better is attach a duck caller to the trumpet of one of them or a soccer refferree's whistle and you'll be set.
