Hi Guys I need some help in a hurry. My new baby a R32 GTST is due to be cleared by Customs on Tuesday and I dont have a compliance workshop to send it to. My Import Brocker who contacted the original workshop 3 months ago now tells me they dont exist anymore. I would have confirmed with the workshop earlier but due to the current delivery times I wasnt expecting it for another month. Great being based in a remote location in the Southwest of WA I was relying on having the Skyline delivered directly to the workshop and for them to handle everthing right up to the rego. Can any one recommend a workshop that carry out compliancing on a 15 year R32 GTST. All contacts appreciated. Peter :headspin:

The message on the DOTARS phone whilst you are waiting is a classic. Basically if you hassle them then expect to be put to the bottom of the pile. Cheers -
Import Approval/de-reg papers

If you do send off the application and have left out info then dont expect a phone call. You will recieve a letter in the mail which again delays the whole process. I know because they couldnt read my photo ID details via the fax copy. Instead of calling or email they wrote a generic letter. Cheers -
Guys Reading the FAQ I still believe we have till the end of 2005 to get a 1990 car in. Iam reading this incorrectly? Quote 6)How long will the transitional arrangement last? Import applications will need to be lodged with the Department on or before 31 December 2005. Applications may only cover vehicles manufactured on or before 31 December 1990. Cheers

Dealer admits truth about Japanese klm's.

Justin That is exactly what I heard. I do have a Soarer with 180K on it and bought it with originally at 150K. Its condition is still very good with usual bolster seat and steering wheel wear. I wonder how many cars say 80K are running at over 100K due for for the cam belt ready to break. Cheers -

GTR Killer I was involved in a new tyre testing about 5 years ago at race track with Bridgestone. They did a demo of inflating a tyre to over 200PSI and the steel rim buckled first. I dont know which tyre you had blow but it would have not been a Steel belted radial. If you dont believe ring the manufacture not your local tyre Git and check it out. Cheers

Tyre Pressures are one of the miss understood settings on a car. The facts are as follows. 1 The tyre recommended specs on the car door are OEM for a comfortable ride on stnd rims and OEM tyres. 2 Most car drivers run too soft a tyre which can cause blow outs because of tyre wall flex. 3 If you run at the tyre wall recommendation for a comfortable ryde then your tyre will wear out faster and use more petrol. Ask yourself what would the tyre company want. more tyre sales or less. Try letting your tyres down to 15 PSI and push it down the road. It will twice as hard compared to it at 38PSI. 4 Rule of thumb for a high speed handling is 6 to 10 PSI harder than recomended I run 40 PSI on my 17" 235 45 tyres. 5 Max tyre pressures on side of the tyre walls is for a USA standards and is crap. You can safely pump a tyre up to 200 PSI. At 300 the ryim will probaly give way before the tyre goes pop. Think about a thin Bicycle tyre it can over 40 psi no probs. Happy to talk about other facts and BS told by mechanics :headspin: :headspin: :headspin: :headspin:
