there should be two pins for the speed sensor on the ECU..... -

Also sorry my interior light still works, but doesnt automatically turn on when u open the door. i think it ran off the door open light on the dash -

R34 GTT went to to the dash first. There are two sensor wires that leave the gearbox near the front cross member on the driver side. I cut those, then wired in some new wires, went up through the gearbox shifter and routed them to the ECU. There are two wires, they are non polarised so it doesnt matter which way they are wired. There is no ground. -

Sorry just to confirm i used a GPS speed app on my phone to work out what 60kph is. Then in the haltech ecu I went to the speed sensor page and hit the calibrate button when i was doing a constant 60kph according to the gps app. Once that was done it was all calibrated and perfect -

Just needed to calibrate it, which was pretty easy, got my phone out, did a constant 60kph on a straight road, hit the calibrate button, and now its perfect -

On my car we took the speed sensor wires from the Gearbox and then and spliced them into the wires going to the ecu, so we bypassed the dash. -

I have an R34, may be different? And i think the battery light is wired in as an exciter for the alternator? Without it the alternator may not be charging your battery properly? -
100% this, if somebody wants to steal something they will work out a way to take it. I am just trying to stop the people who are opportunists

Small update, got a hillclimb tomorrow in Canberra which is always fun. Also got a new alarm (viper 3606) as the old one was horrendous and had a short range, went off randomly and I needed to fix my central locking after changing my dash. Very very happy. Also got some floor mats from car mats direct. Super nice fit and finish. Overall super happy Also finally have settled on the design for the baltech dash

Got some initial reading for the fuel level . 160v = 60l .820v = 34.2l Thats all I have for now as my original sensor was faulty and didn't read out properly. I'll add more as I know it -
I have a Simpson Hybrid S, but it doesn't hold your neck in place, still need your neck muscles for that Track is awesome, I love how there is a few different ways to attack it. Not sure what next, I wouldn't mind Wakefield again as I haven't been there in a while now

Managed to get out to luddenham this weekend. Power steering cooler and synthetic atf has solved my Power steering overheating issue! So am really happy that is now sorted. Managed to go a little quicker and did a 53.9 but still think there is a 52 in it if I got it all right. Luddenham is hard work, my neck was super sore by lunchtime! Need to start neck muscles training!!

So small update next weekend in preparation for a track day at Luddenham. Had issues last time out where I could only do 2 fast laps before something smoked and filled the cabin. Hasn’t happened on any other track, but I have a feeling it was the power steering fluid overflowing. Only one way to find out! have installed an oil cooler. Was pretty simple runs off the return line, little cooler attached to the back of the intercooler. Hopefully this and some synthetic fluid will fix it. Also hopefully it wasn’t something else that was causing the smoke!

Other thing missing, there is no longer a warning tone if you leave your lights on and turn the car off. -

So this is what I’ve worked out that you need to sort if you replace the dash; battery light central locking control unit interior light (I think the door light on the dash powers the interior light when you open and close the doors. speed sensor then the wires you need to add to connect to the new dash are the indicators, hand brake, high beam -

Also would be interested in your voltage values for the fuel level -

@Murray_Calavera how did you get around the central locking control unit issue? Just realised I can’t lock my car unless the battery is disconnected as there is a central locking control unit in the cluster. When I go to lock the door the motor tries to keep the door unlocked. also for the Speedo they needed to wire the gearbox speed sensor to the factory inputs in the Haltech otherwise you won’t get any speed readouts. Turns out from factory the speed sensor goes to the dash first then the ecu.... -
Cheers will try that!

Yep resistor

Got the IC7 in today. But still waiting on my fuel level sensor to be installed
-
Im heading there September 26th, but i need to install my power steering cooler before then. only managed 2 fast laps before it completely overheated and spilt on the exhaust. absolute pain in the a$$

But reading online, isn't there a red and white cable that is around 9V that you would just add the globe too? -

I would, but the dash is being installed by a local shop, only because they recently did the ecu and agreed to do the wiring for this for me. Figured it saved me the hassle!
