  1. only a year of ownership for me. Noticed there are a few skylines at the boosters meet now
  2. So true..... and they asking big bucks for a car that is full of early 2000's modifications, like the fully sick chrome wheels, fibreglass kits that are cracking and random reupholstered interiors with painted dash's....
  3. Based on the above advice i think the general consensus is its difficult and expensive to remove a turbo and make it NA.... recommendation just put a rubber stopper behind the accelerator and limit your ability to go fast that way. In addition a stock skyline is not overly fast and will not wear out components like a modified skyline (which also isnt that bad if done properly). It would probably be cheaper to buy an NA skyline and sell it and then buy a turbo skyline when you want more power. The NA's maintain awesome resale value as every p plater wants one. Also drifting in an NA skyline isnt going to be too much fun, and to get it ready for circuit racing you would need coilovers and sway bars as a minimum, but given its 25 years old would also need to have most bushings replaced, suspensions arms replaced with adjustable components and a HICAS removal... check out my build thread, it will give you an idea of the work i needed to do to get the car to a point where i was happy. Also is there a reason you want a skyline specifically? You may be better in an 86 and then adding a turbo or supercharger when you want more speed...... something to consider
  4. Have you asked AOR for a package deal or seen if they are doing any group buys? I saved a heap by emailing them and found out a group buy was underway
  5. I currently run two sets of pads on the R34 Skyline GTT (note i am running 350mm Evo X rotors ont he front and 350mm 370Z rotors on the rear and Evo 9 Brembos all round with the Alpha Omega Kit). I have decided that one pads cant do two jobs well. So now run Ferodo DSUno for track days, they bite hard and have little fade. Really good track pad. And then I swap pads to Ferodo DS2500 for the street, good cold bite and no squeal. Good thing is they share the same basic pad material so the same rotor can be used when swapping pads and no need to bed in the brakes again.
  6. Yep the reason I got the sim was to learn the tracks before I go on them I noticed the sim really helped me learn the tracks and lines and how to use the whole track to get the times down. It just meant when I go to a track day I can just concentrate on the car and not learning the best way around. and the skyline is great! Currently I got the chassis to feel very similar to the RX8, I was mostly slow at Wakefield as I had no confidence in the brakes... so I was braking way too early
  7. The lines were provided by Alpha Omega, they are a braided stainless line. Work well
  8. The supercharged 86 was good, very nimble and predictable. But I actually bought an RX8 as a track car before the 34... having an underpowered, NA car was fantastic as it made you focus on getting your braking right and carrying as much speed through the corner and getting on the throttle early. It really taught me heaps and because you don’t have the power it really focuses you on getting the basics right. Also made me really appreciate a hood suspension setup as sway bars, shocks and tyres really brought the times down. Had it for 5 years and then replaced it with the R34. im happy I didn’t go straight to the r34 as the car control I learned in the RX8 has been critical I’m not killing myself! whats annoying though is my time around Wakefield in the RX8 was a 1:11 and I’ve only just matched that in the skyline. So I know I have a lot to learn in the r34 and how to maximise the power.
  9. Just a picture of the new rims on the car
  10. Yep let me know I’m heading back end of September for a private day with the 86/BRZ club (used to have a supercharged 86)
  11. Oh bugger, was that the white one, that was parked near the fence Yep parked near the fence where the paintball was. first time I went to Luddenham and what a cracker of a track! I really want to go back and see what the car can do. I never got into a rhythm on Saturday, but I absolutely loved the layout! i remember your car, looked mint! I really wanted a R32 but they are so rare now
  12. I was there yesterday too in the R34 coupe that kept breaking down! i only managed a 54.2, in the first session the cabin filled with smoke, thought it was a burnt plastic pipe, put some high temp tape on, missed the second session, third session only did one lap and the intercooler pipe came loose (forgot to tighten it when I out the car back together) then 4th session only got 3 laps before smoke again. have since learnt I was boiling the power steering fluid!!!
  13. Welcome! Also from Canberra and have a 34 GTT, hopefully see you out one night! I got to the occasional boosters meet. They are always a bit of fun. Also compete in the hill climb and head to Wakefield a bit, not sure if you’re interested but it’s a bit of fun!
  14. Got out to Luddenham Raceway today! What a great little course, awesome flow and just fun and technical. had a small issue where the whole bonnet and the car (through the air vents) filled with thick smoke, originally thought it was my catch can hoses melting on the manifold. But after putting some heat tape on that, it was still smoking. it always happened after around 4 quick laps, decided to call it a day. Did a bit of reading and I’m pretty sure it is just the power steering fluid leaking onto the manifold. Makes sense as I can’t find any oil leaks, it isn’t an issue driving around normally and has only happened at luddenham which is very tight. So hopefully should be a simple fix....
  15. Do you happen to know the resistances for full and empty?
  16. Yep so I’m struggling to feel the pad bite into the rotor and then I’m struggling to feel when the brake locks and the abs is kicked in. I’m getting more feedback from the sound and feedback through the wheel, than the pedal feel. So on the track it’s hard to know what’s happening exactly
  17. I’m still running the BM50 on my r34 GTT with ABS. Got the same aor setup front and rear its fine around town but on the track it’s hard to modulate the brake pedal... I’ll be upgrading to a genuine Nissan r34 gtr bm57 so there’s a bit more control on the track (with the bm50 it’s hard to get a good feel of what’s happening with the brakes and it’s actually quite easy to engage the abs and not notice....)
  18. The Koya’s are semi forged, so not the heaviest but also not the lightest. They are around the 7kg mark which I’m more than happy with
  19. Small update! Going to Luddenham this weekend to give the skyline a good run. Haven’t been there before, so should be fun! in preparation I have swapped pads. Now will be using Ferrodo DSUno for track days and then swapping to DS2500 for the road. Went with this combo as they use the same brake compound so don’t need to re bed the brakes every time I swap. also I have finally settled on my wheel choices for the car. for track days I run the Koyo SF05 18x9 +30 in satin gunmetal with 265/35 semi slicks (currently Kumho V70a Mediums) for the road I just got these beauties for the car. They are Koya SF01 18x9 +28 for the front and +32 on the rear in US Burnt Bronze. Am in love with the colour of these wheels as they change from black to charcoal to brown to bronze depending on the light. i also needed to change my brake master cylinder to the BM57, but ran out of time
  20. Could be as simple that you accidentally left a prior centre bore adaptor on that one wheel?
  21. Who did the digital dash to MFD conversion carbon plate?
  22. Hey! Who did the wiring for your dash? Did you do it all yourself or did you get someone? got a dash for my car, but I’m not the best with car electrical work so trying to find a suitable person who can get this done damn just realised your in queensland! Any hints or tips would be awesome!
  23. We are going to try and keep the standard brakes for now so we are still eligible to run it in the pulsar challenge if we wanted
