  1. Could have refitted without plates. But if your gonna do it do it right!
  2. Just cured 95% of skyline issues myself. Removed both chassis runners by removing spot welds. Cut 3mm plates for strength. Then cleared. Rust treated chassis leg ready to plug weld plate on inside of leg before plug welding back into R33 Shell.
  3. In need of these maybe, removed for minor Dent removal. Perfect now. With fabricated 3mm shaped strengthening plates. Available to save ur rotting £60k GTR!
  4. Sorry! A million miles away.
  5. Do you see many Skylines being used in Japan. As normal cars?
  6. So you are saying most skyline in US are ex rusty Canadian skylines? They where not well protected from nissan, primer isn't paint!
  7. Buy a 4 door.
  8. Not an expert on bleeding air, but I have jacked a car up. Loosened the highest point coolant hose, which was on this model, not a skyline. The hose that went into heater matrix. Could actually hear the air escaping, then coolant, tightened up hose! Sorted.
  9. Google metalisation, its a process of chrome look on plastic. Example, reflectors in headlights. Cheap plastic toys, that look shiny. Or there is chrome look vinyl, for signwriters. It's 50% there!
  10. OK so the predictions where true, and predict to 2025. Clemo. Was in same situ, a few yrs ago. Could see prices rise yr on year. I went for the minty fresh. No mods option. That no boy racer wanted. Looked at about 6 cars before purchase, so made the right choice. Being from a small northern island. We have very little skylines left, salt and rain killed them, plus nissan didn't paint them or protect them, plus dare I say throw away society, use, abuse, and move to the next must have. not many people can weld or has the skills too, they can like Facebook posts :), that's life now! ♥️ Fair play to the grafters out there, building, restoring, maintaining these now rare cars.
  11. Oh you might be interested: https://chromjuwelen.com/network/237-engineswapdepot-com/210638-opel-manta-400-with-a-rb25det-inline-six
  12. Hold up, need to go back to page 1 and read that all again. Not from oz. So never heard of holden torana. Very interested, as I work on other GM cars, is the Torana based on Opel ascona. A? Or Opel ascona B? Reason. I ask as I need reversed stub axles for front on this opel manta b. Also rear axle with LSD. That will take 300bhp
  13. Can anyone photograph a spec 2 standard intercooler plastic vent section. That is bolted to front bumper. To direct air through intercooler. Greatly appreciated. It will help me look for what I need. Missing and haven't seen one before.
  14. Just remove them. Straighten them, plate them 3mm to reinforce them, complete length and spot weld fit them back on. Simples! When you have them off! Make a template, transfare onto fresh steel, and shape them for years to come! I blame tyre fitters and drifters! Never seen chassis rails made from light tin foil, reckon I could bend them with my mind. Going to make a plated section that is bolted. To assist in future lifting.
  15. Nice car, nice spec, enjoy!
  16. Would these sections mentioned above 74843, & 74842
  17. Work is slowing but progressing, garage isn't inviting! Cold, 0°C, dark, and wet, but it is progressing. Making a few repair sections, seen a complete boot floor panel on ebay locally, (UK) at £600, got the part number of the sticker, and searched online. content://com.android.chrome.FileProvider/images/screenshot/16044367039561188999673.png Any one use them? https://www.nengun.com/oem/nissan/74514-24u30 Progressed and made the boot floor section, by hand, as I had a few where the glass blasting exposed, it really doesn't take any prisoners. I'm moving on to a section in front of the rear wheels, it's a box section shape, and would be in front of the rear subframe. It may be the rear jacking point. Can anyone identify it in the image?
  18. What a honour for you to honour your brother, to keep his spirit alive. You look to have a great base to continue your brothers dream. Have you considered a wrap, meaning you could go more into the MJ theme with graphics, even a half wrap, this will expose the car as well, front half white, half wrap on sides and back. Enjoy working on it, the goal is in the process
  19. Hey, I'm trying to build up a R33 from a bare shell, getting there, but I'm struggling to find CHEAP front calipers, 4 pots, will be running standard 5 stud setup. I'm new to these but finding my way, will any other caliper fit? From another Nissan, 300, Stagea, silvia? Or any r33 setups available, don't really want to send 1/2* ways round the world. Just picking brains!
  20. Thanks, thats great, cheers Trel, and GTS boy. Normally watch gauges more than the road, but have only driven this car 2 or 3 times, and its been nearly a year, plus phone died and lost video and photos id taken for reference. That gives me a starting point, so what happens at higher revs, when turbo is 0, what revs roughly? And what revs at 7+. Guessing fan cuts in below 120˚, will try and get it as close as possible, using a backup to calibrate it, roughly. I was so careful removing needles, can see what happened.
  21. Totally standard r33 gtst. Can anyone advise on what position needles should point, on initial startup, for turbo and twmperature Reason is changed dials to UK spec mph, turbo dial is off, and temperature is not lifting? Everything else seems ok. Had photos and video before i started, phone died a horrible death. Need to know what the turbo needle should register at on startup, and what temperature sits at normal running temp, stationary. Cant think of any other way of doing this?
  22. Tnks, and thanks! It's cheap as chips, everything I bought with it or for it was, that's the way it gonna be, but everything will be done right, no corners cut here, if budget slows me.... So be it. Learning a lot, and hopefully will learn a lot from you yourselves along the way. I'm no stranger to car restorations! Normally work on 40 Yr old yokes, so this should be a breeze....... Yeh right. Atleast starting with a blank shell, I know what I've got, most skylines here are rot boxes, salted roads in winter, mostly wet, and mucky. Not good when most imports where not protected, very little paint on these from new, primer at best. Next step is allow paint to fully harden. Then seemsealer, and stonechip underneath. Learning how to protect front shock terrets from under and above, also boot seems that leak. As for a GTR, not my thing, sorry. RWD ONLY, are you joking! In the land of AE86, donuts and drifting.... Work so far includes, price of 5 glass blasting bags, and 3L of undercoat paint, less than 1 and 1/2 fills juice!
  23. Shell was glass blasted and primed and undercoated this week, nothing held back, there was no repairs done on the shell previously, as with blasting, it's back to bare metal. Turrets are original and very clean. Overall for a 25 Yr old car, it's pretty solid.
  24. Brief History, Bought this Shell for the price of a round of drinks! It was stripped ten, fifteen years ago of all its running gear, and I mean everything. Why? It was a breaker. Pic shows sitting on drink crates, mocked up using 940 turbo Volvo rims, then Rota 17 inch Bought all body panels, in a separate deal, spec2 I believe.
