akeenan is spot on Doing your own is sht ezy. Remember that this should be done every 5000km or so. You can then pick your own good quality oil and filter and make sure it is done properly. No rip offs here. I do mine every 5000 with Penrite 10-50 semi and a new filter every time. Runs sweet and you know what you are getting. Enjoy El Bee

Flow test results of my Front Facing Plenum
elbee111 replied to B-Man's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ditto to that re testing the standard. Why would it flow in a sawtooth ascending 1-2-3 and 4-5-6?? Interesting. El bee -
Congrats deano_33. Glad I was of some assistance. Sounds like you saved a bit of money eh. All the best El Bee

Deano 33 No. I didn't take it apart at all. The first two pics are front and back, or vice versa, and the third closes in and shows that the sensor has a disc with a heapa slots in it. The slots tell the Hicas that it is "x" amount away from straight on the steering wheel. This must use some sort of light source and counter etc. From memory the lug shown on the left hand side of the 2nd pic has to be in a certain position to centre everything. Hope this helps. El Bee

Gday Had troubles with my Hicas and found that the plastic cup of the Horn Pad had shattered and the little shards of plastic were interfering with the signal. With luck your problem may be similar. Steering Angle Sensor looks like attached. Enjoy El Bee

Only want to say that you don't have to cut the metal to fit 6x9's. Just have to put them in on an angle to follow the existing "D" shape cutout in the body. I have put Sony Xplod 6x9's in (these are not particularly slimline or anything). It is fiddly but it can be done. I posted details of this some months ago. See attachment Enjoy

Bought 12 months ago with 67000, now 97000. Got the caryard to do timing belt etc under warranty as the odometer wasn't working correctly. Do oil and filter every 5000 and have not had any probs at all. Enjoy! ps. I know an auto box killer. There are a few specialists in this field. My son killed his real quick.

Poll: What happened to your first car?
elbee111 replied to Duncan's topic in General Automotive Discussion
1967/68 HR Holden Bought it off my older brother for $200 bucks. Never got around to paying him and he eventually gave it to me as a present. Good car till I smashed it up in Sutherland and limped it back home to the Illawarra area. Replaced front end and engine and traded up to a HT which I basically wrote off as well. All is well now I have my spectacles. -
Got a PM re this so thought I would add some details. Did the installation myself (after an expert reckoned that it couldn't be done). The speakers aren't any special slim line types or anything, they are Sony Xplod 6x9s from our old R31. Definitely need an assistant, I thankfully had my son for the in close work etc. 1. Get at the shelf from inside the boot and mark out the "D" shape in the steel body. 2. Take out the back seat and the parcel shelf and cut this "D" out of the board with whatever you have. 3. Position the speakers on a "best fit" angle and mark out any extra bits of the board that you need to cut out for the speaker basket to fit neatly. Take a little time here to get the angles the same and sit them in position regularly etc. 4. With the speakers in position on the board you can mark and drill where your screws/fasteners are going. Then you can mount the speakers to the board. 5. Replace the shelf with speakers attached making sure that you get the clips to go into the body where they should. Also a good idea to dampen under the screws so that there is no vibration/rattling. 6. Replace the seat (easier said than done) and hook the speakers up to the wiring (that you have prepared earlier). Don't think I missed anything. It is a job well worth doing but it is fiddly (some would say a pain in the arrhse. El Bee

See attached pic Original parcel shelf, no MDF, no cutting or grinding of the body. Just need the correct angle for the basket to fit in the "D" of the steel shelf. Enjoy El Bee

Anybody been to the NissanSilvia forums lately?
elbee111 replied to AeroGrace's topic in Western Australia
Have to agree with PSIKO that there are many GTR look-alikes. Having said that, the smile from the Skyline owner might have also been a "yeh whatever" look and was laughing at the guy having a real go. It may also have been aknowledging a nice Nissan. Quote from Wife: It just would not happen if I owned a GTR. Myself I would probably just let him go as the Skyline owner did. Enjoy! El Bee -
SAU Caps & Beanies... just made a deal, any1 want one?
elbee111 replied to funkymonkey's topic in Victoria
Funky Very late notice but I would love to see one with ... 1. Only the Skyline "S" symbol on the front. 2. "SAU" between the R33 lights at the back. Will take a couple of each any way they turn out. Can someone let me know of any details of how and where to buy etc. Go for it! El Bee -
Thoroughly enjoyed that. Found it a bit of a chore to read the whole lot as I call myself semi - literate. Will enjoy my Bathurst 1986-1992 "The turbolent years" DVD even more now. Enjoy!

Jimbo2000 Put 6x9s in our R33. Put em at a 45 deg angle to follow the "D" shape cut-out in the body. Went the Subby in the boot as well. See

anyone got busted for washe nozzle leds b4?
elbee111 replied to gxeug's topic in General Automotive Discussion
gxeug Copper down our way gave us a warning that they were illegal when we had these on our R31. After the warning I hooked them up to a 3 way switch, where down was on continuously and up was a momentary "flash", but still wasn't game enough to use them. El Bee -
Gday Must be one of the minority with the battery in the back. Funny that the NRMA guy new exactly where to go when the lights had been left on. (She did it) As far as I know they all reside there and should be sealed for safety. Sealed batteries don't have the screw caps for topping up (about six of them) across the top of the battery. Have had an R31 and now own an R33. Both the cars that have been bagged here light-heartedly. Loved the R31 with heaps of old grunt and chirping into 2nd etc. Had to work at it, and that was part of the fun. Never showed the car an ounce of mercy and it respected me for that and never let me down. Really enjoy the revving ease of the R33 now. Both great ass-woopin cars Pulsar sounds good too. All Nissans after all. Enjoy !!!!!!!! Laurie
