  1. I might aswell pipe in here again too.. I only run Octane Booster to make up for the fact that I beliece the fuel where I live is Sh*t.. I can only get Premium unleaded and because most poeple here are tight arses I think it may have expired it's shelf life the time it ends up in my tank. I add the best Octane Bosoter I can find, Nulon Pro Strength, not only for the Octane increase and the added security it gives me, I do it because it also has some nice lubricants and other additives that clean the engine.. If I rana tank of premium and check the plugs, all black, run it with Nulon Pro, nice and golden.. My car was tuned on Premium, I just like to add security to my engines. I do go over the top in this, with larger sumps, oil coolers, rocker arm stoppers, good oil, larger radiators, but I would rather be safe than sorry.,. Bottom line, you want the gain the extra power out of a good Octane Booster, add a psi or two to your boost, but be reasonable and wairy, don't go adding 6 psi, that would probably be too much.. If you change nothing, you'll get no better results, probably just a cleaner, smoother running engine..
  2. Power FC all the way.. Lots of people use other ECU's and have issues with things like Cold Starts (applies to you) running air con (applies to me) and getting good smooth idles with alrger injectors. POwer FC's are beign used all over the world succesfully, the only downside that I can see to a Power FC (minimal if tuned well) is that they don't have effective tempeterature compensation, as I said this can be tuned easily and with excellent results.. Also take into account the FC-Datalogit package where you can modify all the options in the Power FC, that you can't do with the Hand Controller, like Fan switch on temps below 95 deg.. also you can then have launch control and extra intputs as well as full logging and view the whole map at once.. Check the FC-Datalogit website.. http://www.fc-datalogit.co.nz/ I was going to go with either a Power FC or a Wolf 3D V4, but after a few comments from people with the Wolf's I decided to go with the Power FC.. THis is being tuned in February in Perth and I will be picking up a FC-Datalogit shortly afterwards.
  3. I put Redline MTL in my SR20 box and it quietened it upa dn made it shift smoother, I have no idea wether this oil is suited to a GTR< but something of similar qulaity would be good, (it cost me $100 for the oil in the sr box).

  5. DOn't laugh but a mate of mien fitted one to his Magna that had quite a few mods, not sure where he got it tuned, but I will ask for oyu, his tune was quite good, it went pretty hard considering it was still a Magna

  11. Yeah I am new to the GTR thing, but I modified my SR20 180SX to befairly hard. I have spoken to a friend who has owned a few GTR's, he said the same thing. I just wish I didn't live in the back blocks of nowhere so I could ask more of these questions... At first I was thinking that the GTR BOV's would be like the stock S13 bypass valves. Then I realised I don't think I ahve seen too many GTR's with aftermarket BOV's..
  12. I have a GFB Mach 1 on my desk, that thing was f*cking loud, I hate attracting attention so it came off... On the GTR I will be sticking with the stock BOV's they should flow enough for my GT2530's..
  13. A friend of mine who owns a supra has a guy on his forums that does these shots.. Attached is the image of his car chopped.. If I only had one shot of my car without the bonnet up I would get s shot done..

  18. Hi I ahve been using Octane Boosters for years, firstly because it was hard to get fuel where I was and then as I used to get it really cheap.. Now I use it as I am in the same situation, only get premium and I live in teh middle of nowhere so I don't trust the fuel.. I have tried most of them, some with good results, some with shocking results.. I now exclusively use "Nulon Pro Strength" sure it is a little more pricey than most, but it is the best in my opinion and it works well too.. Check this link, it is from the Nitrous Formula website where they compare some leading brand Octane Boosters, they say their product is as good as Nulon Pro Strength, but I don't believe it is.. I stick with what I know works well.. KMart have good prices, but Coventry's in bulk is good if you get a discount like I do as a Rio Tinto Employee.. http://members.westnet.com.au/yorik/octane...e-shootout.jpeg Also another thing to consider is that from time to time Dyno Dynamics Dyno shops do delas where with every power run you do, you get a free bottle of Nulon Pro Strength, now most tuners will correctly recommend good fuel over an octane booster, but if they are going to recomend one, they will recomend the best.. If you are like me, you take what you can get.. Another good octane booster is Toluene, for about $35 you get about 4 Litres, this stuff has a RON of 130 and an effective MON of 122, so it is quite good fi you want to run extra pounds or advance.. In the days of Turbo F1 cars, they ran on practically 85% Toluene, do a search n the effects of Toluene on the web, you'll be surprised at how good it is.. I have used it for drag runs before to get extra pounds, but I also hit the FMIC of that car with a CO2 extinguisher and had Water/Meth injection too, was fun...

  21. Yes, yes I do. He sold that car to a guy called Igor.. Yeah, when I spoke to him on Friday it sounds like his engine is almost rebuilt. Should be good, but I don't what he palns on doing with it up here, I was having issues holding down just over 300 rwhp, he is hoping to go well past those figures.. It's funny, people up here that used to own Skylines now own S13's (one has a RB25DETT, yes 25, transplanted into it) and my S13 gets written off by a damn Landcruiser and I get a R32 GTR.. I always go against the flow, not knowlingly either.. Cheers guys for the invite, I will fill out the form tomorrow and send it off.
  22. I thought I recognised that car in the avatar.. I seem to have spent some time under that bonnet, no where near as much as I did under the 180 but.... You should see it now with my Work VS-MX rims on the rear, the dish perfectly suits it..
  23. Hi I am in Karratha and would like to Join, I pretty much won;t ever be able to make it to a Club meet, function or anything, but I would still like to join and support the Local club. I have done the same with Silvia WA for about 3 years now, and I only recently made it to my first meet, on which I was graced by being allowed to tke my Rental Hyundai Getz on the cruise, I tried, but it was nothing compared to my old 300+rwhp 180... lol.. Anyway, if it is still okay, I would like to join, if not, I understand and thank you for your time and effort.
