  1. Yeah much easier with it.. Without the harness there is a lot more stuffing around. The Harness is damn cheap and worth the Cash for the hassle it will save.. The harness does not include teh functionlaity for the Speed, RPM or Handbrake in a plug and play sense though, you will need to run extra wires for that functionality.
  2. In Tokyo I like the Sakura Hotel for a budget-mid price ($80) hotel and the Star Hotel Tokyo in Shinjuku has awesome location, just over a $100 a night.. In Osaka I prefer the real buidget hotels and houses, like Orange House, that place is an experience.. Aug/Sept is hot, get ready for it!! I was there last year in Aug Sept for 6 weeks.. Miss it!!!

    D1 Help Me

Get used to the D1 Coffee adverts, they flog them at all D1GP events really reallly hard.. If you Japanese is poor, you will quickly get annoyed as it is in english and it will be the only english you hear most of the day... But it is still cool to see the drivers that you ahve been following for years..

    D1 Help Me

Hi Okay I found a translatable page, here is the link.. It seems like it is a demo run attached to Tokyo Auto Salon... http://translate.google.com/translate?prev.../08/000058.html So if you plan on going to the AutoSalon, you might be in luck, pack warm clothes.. More D1GP stuff here.. Check these links for the D1GP Schedules for 2007.. I just got back from USA from the Irwindale Japanese finals and the All Stars, there won't be any Japanese racing until March.. The events are certainly different to the two I attended in Japan in 2k6.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_D1_Grand_Prix_Season Here you can see the D1GP SL series in Japan will kick off in Feb, *hint* look under the US schedule.. https://www.d1gp.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=2
  5. There is a JTB Tour of the Toyota factory in Nagoya.. http://www.jtbgmt.com/sunrisetour/ adn when I was in Hiroshima, one of the JTB tour guides, Akiko, said that she can arrange tours of the Mazda factory there. She is very nice and will most probably ask you a lot of questions, as she is writing a book entitled "Memoirs of a Guide", hjer english is excellent and she is very knowledgable.. Have fun, J rocks..
  6. Not a problem at all Mark, it is great to know that you are getting some use out of it aswell. Yeah, I have been slack, I had a bit of a problem with my MP3 Player (I dropped in a large glass of JD and Coke overnight.. ) and then my server died, so I couldn't access the MP3's anymore. Only got them back about 2 weeks ago (thank god for raided hard drives.) Now I have copies, on my phone, my new MP3/4 Player, on the PSP, my work pc and a few other places.. I usually listen to each one about 5-10 times. For example my schedule would look like this.. 11, 11, 11, 12, 12, 11, 12, 12, 13, 13, 12, 11, 13, 13, 14... And so on.. I find that if I listen to one a couple of times, then move to the next lesson that they re-inforce things from earlier lessons quite well.. Going back to the earlier lessons is then like a quick revision. I usually listen to at least one a day. I find that sometimes I drift off while I am trying to concentrate.. So repeating them, a lot is my only tactic. I am no where near where I wanted to be by this time, but I sure have got a lot more than if I had used any other system. Learning another language is definitely not that easy, sure the first few lessons weren't too hard, but it is now getting complicated rapidly. I will be sure to post up a heap on information and pics from my trip, as long as no one objects to this of course... Not long to go now. I made some counters Click Here, lame hey... I am hoping that I can get a bit of a grounding in my first week on my guided tour, 'cos after that I am on my own for 4 weeks.. I am panicking a little bit, but at the same time, I have made all of my bookings over the internet at places that say they have english speaking people, all accept a night I am staying in a Capsule Hotel in Ahkihabara.. Hope I will be okay, if not, I have rented a mobile phone through Go Mobile, who offer a Concierge service, which can act as a translator for you, for Y100-Y150 per minute, which in my book will be a god send I am sure.. Especially when looking for a taxi in Nihommatsu, when I am trying to get to Ebisu circuit for D1GP...
  7. Pimsluer uses that latter once you get further into the lessons. I am up Lesson 16 of the First Section, and I am definitely using both of them.. Hoping to get a bit more under my belt, I am there in under three weeks now. :scared: Hopefully my very poor, very limited Japanese will help me get by for the 5 weeks I am there.
  8. Hi there.. I am not into skiing myself, but I am about to go to Japan for 5 weeks. There is heaps of travel offers for Japan, yours sounds like a good cheap deal, but keep your eyes open for other deals too. One thing that I ahve learnt is that there is a massive Tourism market in Japan and if you want something, you can generally get it.. Cheap too.. Have fun over there.. PS. For a more full on tour, or maybe get a quote from these guys http://www.skijapan.com.au/

  11. Any Nissan Dealer can get you an original GTR key and have it cut if you know the code.. Northside Nissan in Perth did this for me recently.. Standard keys were like $10 or $15 and the GTR keys were like $65.. This is definitely the way to go, but you need to know the code.. Have fun!!
  12. Northside Nissan in Perth have a few good guys for getting Import parts, try them.
  13. This is the way that ATTESSA works, it puts some drive to the front when accelerating, even in a straigh line. The accellerometers measure your accelleration and put soem drive into the front wheels, keeping the system primed also allows for faster response when it is needed. You will notice that you get no front drive when decellerating also.. Sounds very normal to me..

    Travelling Very Soon!

The Pimsluer system is quite easy to learn basic (very) Japanese quickly.. After that I would say get the Lonely Planet Guides, and start searching some of the Gaijin visitor sites.. There is heaps.. My bookmark list is massive, but still very aimed at my interests..
  21. I am personally taking some Sunrise Tours in the first part of my trip to get in as much as possible and get used to the place, then I am going out on my own for a while. I have found heaps of info on the internet, I have a few books, (had two Lonely Planet guides till recently.) Japan would ahve to be one of the best places to visit for information on the internet, outside of maybe the states.. So start searching, translating pages and just researching.. I have been researching flat out for a few months now and I am making my bookings this week..
  22. I think that I need to book my trip really soon, every time I do some research, I find somewhere else to go and more things to see, I really need to book that trip so that I am locked in and can't plan more stuff..
  23. Thanks guys.. Book is now gone.. Well it will be once I get the address of the new recipient.. I like it a lot, it has a lot of good information, not complete, but enough to get by and definitely enought to start planning.. I prefer to reasearch th internet myself, but this book, amongst others is encouraging me to go to other places.. Looks my trip just extended by another 4 or 5 days, going to do a bit up in Haikaido now as well.. 4 weeks will be my limit I think.. I will probably want to come home by then..
  24. Just so there is no confusion, this is how I got two copies. One night I thought about buying a copy adn couldn't onto the LoenlyPlanet website cos it was down, so I went and ordered one through Angus and Robertson (mistake number one) then after about a week or so, they emailed me to say that the book hadn't been printed yet and they had no idea when it would be printed. So, I thought I would cancel the order, which I tried and sort of successfully did.. I then got onot the Lonely Planet website and bought this book and a few others, The Japanes Phrasebook and Best of Tokyo, they all got sent out to me and I ahve been reading them... Then I get an email from Angus and Robertson, saying that my order had been shipped.. WTF? I thought I cancelled it.. Soo.... I now have two copies.. Hence trying to get rid of my excess.. Sounds stupid doesn't it?? My misfortune might as well be some one elses fortune..
  25. First off, let me apologise to Rezz and the team, but I would prefer to post this here an not in the classifieds, as I would prefer that someone who is actually travelling to Japan in the recent future (read: this year.) to get this great book. If you would prefer to move the thread to another forum, then please feel free to, I just thought it would be nice to give it to some one from in here. Okay here is the deal, first person to PM me, gets this book, it is the latest release of the Lonely Plant Guide to Japan 9th Edition, which can be seen HERE I have two copies of this book, don't ask how please, just accept it, this one is brand new, I haven't even opened it. I don't really need two copies, so I thought I would give away this other copy to someone else that can use it.. If you are not planning a trip to Japan, then please don't ask for it, rather let someone who is going get it, so that they ca use it. I won't ask for proof, I am trusting the honesty of anyone who contacts me. I will send it free of charge, no insurance, no express, just regular mail to anywhere in Australia. I will send it in the same packaging that it was sent to me in from a large Australian book chain. I am trying to doing the nice thing here, so if it gets lost or slightly damaged in the post or anything else for that matter, please be mindful that no money is changing hands. The book will be sent on Friday, not earlier, this is the only day that I can get to the post office, this is one of my conditons, if this is a problem, then please buy a full copy. Also, please don't get annoyed if you miss out.
