  1. The police should give the cars to me, so the owners can be reminded (more reguarly) when they see me driving their old car past them (whilst they sit on the bus.)
  2. just wanted to share with you the next incarnation of Pimp my ride, its been called PIMP MY BRIDE. Pimp_My_Bride.wmv
  3. I'll drop past
  4. Let me know when, and I'll be there. Andrew, is there any chance you could hold some parts for me (cant let the wife see them) over xmas. (Not very big- 2rismo (Adrian) is bringing them over)
  5. Morepower have done a lot of work on my car, and I've had no problems. I didnt mind Tillbrooks but the price was a lot higher.
  6. Hi To add your own avatar, click on the "My Controls" link at the top of the forums Click on "Edit Avatar Settings" in the Personal Profile menues on the left hand side from there you can follow the instructions on the page and select an avatar from the gallery or load on of your own. Hope this helps.
  7. Biggest plus for a car, is that if you make a mistake at high speed it is a lot more forgiving. I used to ride bikes aswell (love them but didnt like the car drivers) I had a few too many close calls all in the space of 1 week (any one of which could have been fatal, but all ended up minor) and took the hint that someone was trying to give me a message, sold the bike straight away.
  8. It would depend on thr road, but the bike has a few problems if the corners are tight. Power to weight is usually in favour of the bike, and it has more roal width to play with, but its tyre contact patch is quite small, and those brakes have trouble compared ti a good race car setup. If its a straight road, the cars aerodynamics should give it a higher top speed, if its tight and twisty (ie lots of braking) the car could win, but a gently ride through the hills (victor, strath etc, I guess the bike would win)
  9. Easy - put your foot on the brake and then apply the accelerator. Boost will come up with the revs, and the wheels will start to spin. This puts a huge heat strain on the auto (heat = dead auto) so its a good idea to have a trans cooler and dont stall it for too long. The shift kit won't help you stall it any easier (but a new higher stall torque converter would help) but it will change gears a lot quicker. The auto works the same with or without the PFC. When I was at the drags my best times were when I manually changed gears, but you can just put it in drive and let it do the rest. Hope this is of some help.
  10. I had no problems, just put it in and tuned it (same as a manual) Others have said they have had problems, but I didnt. Its definatly worth trying, especially if you can return the PFC afterwards (if it gives you trouble)
  11. welcome aboard
  12. Saw the show last night, not too bad. I wouldnt mind if someone was going to give my car all of that stuff. So how quick is an 8.1 second eighth mile (what quarter mile time should this give)
  13. Dont fool yourself, malpassi aren't that bad. I have seen them used by a lot of top end drag teams. I also use one myself and its working perfectly. (ideal for an RB25 when you dont want/need to go the whole hog and buy new injectors)
  14. not the skyline???? What happened?
  15. Yes - spent too much time searching to checck on the Oldsmobile and mucked up the mames
  16. Sounds like good advertising from BMW. I agree it looks like a a bush type turbo, and the first turbocharged engine was the AFAIK made by Oldsmobile in the sixties. (there are other examples that didnt make it into mass production that date back even further. (its amazing some of the ideas that were tried out in the early days of automobiles - superchargers, 4wheel drive etc were all tried nearly 100 years ago)
  17. Take it to Sturt Police station (not Regency) and all should be sweet. Take off obvious defects such as BOV.
  18. If you want to see a power increase, spend a little more and get a turbo back system. Whats the use of a free flowing exhaust if you strangle it from the turbo to the cat?
  19. its time to change when the numbe of skidmarks match.
  20. Would you consider a 33 (not the one in my avtar). Do you have to go manual? my 33 is an auto with a modified valve body and as many on the SA forum can contest it is no slouch. (through the hills or on a straight road)
  21. Great shots Andrew.
  22. They could always race hovercraft, they get fully sik drift in the cornrers
  23. Thanks Had a great day, good to see a street full of skylines.
  24. How about an Impule 4 door skyline?
  25. I lookea at ATS and others but in the end went with GCG and am happy with the result. A few workshops I spoke to had installed ATS hi-flows and had not seen any real increas in power for the same boost (but were confident it could take more than 14psi) where as the GCG produces about 20% more power at the same boost (on my car) and I didnt notice any extra lag (though I did fit an electronic boost controler at the same time) hope tis helps.
