  1. Not a lot of responses, so here is a free bump.
  2. Here is my 4 door. It looks better when low, but I have clearance issues with my driveway, so most of the time I leave it up at standard height.
  3. Hi Cars tend to be cheaper in the eastern states, so it may pay to get the car from their. (look around at the time, bargains do come up in all sorts of odd places) Nice weather in the riverland, and only a few hours from Adelaide.
  4. There is a common misteak with Rotors. Most of the spec sheets in Aust listed the incorrect rotor size. Ie minimum thicknes was listed as the original thickness, so it looked like all rotors needed to be replaced. (Get the mechanic to check this out, a car with a genuine 78K on the clock shouldnt have eaten a set of rotors unless thrashed.) Seatbelts are worth replacing (what price do you put on yours or your passengers life) even though their MAY be nothing wrong with the originals. (but how can you tell for sure)
  5. Just Jap had some CF ones for sale a while ago, at a good price.
  6. the height is measured from the centre of the wheel to the top of your wheel arch. The other test is 100mm clearance from the lowest point under the car. Sorry dont know anywhere over at Pt Lincon (I assume thats where you meant)
  7. I'd be interested too.
  8. Do you have the plastic bit that goes between the two taillights on the sedan (tinted plastic with the word skyline) and what price do you want?
  9. I'm interested i the price of some 550's or 600s for an RB25DET
  10. Get GCG to hi-flow your old turbo.
  11. Hmmm..... Smart Electricity in Japaneese cars???????? What will they think of next. Read your manual, you can jump start a skyline.
  12. Have a chat with the guys at MV Automatics in Blackwood (Adelaide SA) they have done a lot of this stuff. You can get Valve Bodies, Torque converters, Carbon Fiber Clutch packs (I believe) etc from them. I have also heard that some of the Nissan Patrol parts are interchangable for high torque applications. Remember its not the KW that will kill a transmission its the Torque and heat.
  13. Very nice, B) I can see he was trying to copy me.
  14. Depending upon how strapped for cash you are, you can get new ones at Repco for little more than second hand ones sell for on here. If you do a search you will get the part number because Repco dont list it as a Z32
  15. Replace the front speakers (always) The front speakers set the sound stage, the rears should just add some fill. In many top audio cars rear speakers are considered unnecessary.
  16. The RTA system is such a joke. I thought all states use the same ADR's to determine whats legal or not. Its amazing how much variation their is if they are all using the same rules book.
  17. Only 20 ????? how about an extra 100 RWKw (think BIG)
  18. Merry Christmas, and may 2006 give you all the boost you want.
  19. My uderstanding is that its illegal to have them turned on whilst on the road. The ADR's talk about couloured lights not beeing visible if they show from the front, but not about their being installed.
  20. Whats the size of your old fella got to do with the time the job took Great install, looks nice.
  21. Does that mean the police dropped the charges?
  22. For that price, you should run them through a scanner first so that you can print off other decals later. Their are plenty of good shops that could reprint the decal if you have a clear electronic image to work off of.
  23. Have you ever considered adding the "Try using the search button" to your signature, it seemes every second post of yours uses it? Hi - welcome to the forums. Stock 33s - depending upon the driver, track, condition of the car etc should be good for a 13-14 second 1/4 mile Stock turbos are quite good, and will last a long time. The usual problem is that we all want more power, so as we increase the boost we risk damaging the turbo. Most people feel increasing the boost up to around 12psi (from a factory set 7psi) should be OK, but after that you reduce the life of the turbo. As for common problems, there arn't really that many. Only ones I can think off are that the "Radius Rod Bushes"?? are often a little worn out when they arrive from Japan and need to be changed (not expensive) and that at 100,000km you need to change the timing belt (and its a good idea to do the water pump aswell) which isny the cheapest service (but not bad compared to other cars). Common modifications usually include : better exhaust (3 inch) from the turbo back Front mount intercooler to replace the small factory one Increase the boost - Bleed valves are cheap, but Electronic boost controllers do a better job. After that you would consider aftermarket engine management such as a Power FC or other. Now the power bug has bit hard, so you want to get a biger turbo, improve the fuel system (new pump and injectors) etc etc The suspension and handeling of the 33's is quite good, so you dont need to modify it as soon as many other cars, but its worth considering a good set of tyres so you can use the power. Other mods often include a Hicas lock kit, Pineapples (to adjust the rear end geometry) and better quality brake pads to help you stop quicker (no real need to change the rotors unless you go for huge power) Hope that is of some help.
  24. For a top job, see Des Higgins at Parafield. (Probably the best in SA) If you want the whole car resprayed at the same time (and you have to pay for it) it would cost a fortune with Des, but if the insurance company will pay I wouldnt go anywhere else.
  25. Your best bet may be to sell the car to a wrecker and start again. Your car needs to be STOCK when you next go back to Regency, otherwise they will only hit you with more defects. That includes the engine, intercooler, steering wheel, turbo, ecu etc. If it isnt they will only send you off with a bigger list of defects. If you can make it all stock and get it through, then you could refit the good bits on again. As far as I am aware there in no-one in SA (well perhaps Mitsubishi) that can perform the emissions test you require to an adequite standard. It isnt even worth considering this path.
