Just think of it as an excuse to start drinking and having fun with your mates a bit earlier.

If any of you want them framed or block mounted give me a call (Family business)

For those who cant wait, there is an SVD cruise down to Vctor. Meet at Adelaide Oval 11AM for a 11:30am leave. Head to Victor Harbor for lunch and head back along the coast. I wont be going but some of you may like to tag along (or show the way;-)

It also depends on the Police Officer you get, and the mood he/she is in. Major items (engine/emmissions/structural etc) need to go to regency, minor stuff (tyres etc) can be done at other locations. If they have had a bad day, or just want to be difficult they can say they THINK (no need for them to prove it) you have a BOV (even a stock one), exhaust is too loud, modified turbo, ECU, car too low, and send you to regency.
-
They were offered to me by a friend in SVD who works at a wrecker in Wingfield
-
They are too firm for drag racing, they dont allow the car to squat and transfer weight to the rear of the car.

Hydrogen Generating Module -> H2n-gen

A great Idea, now if only they could get it to produce nitrous oxide instead of oxygen. -
I agree with the others, a mid to high 13 is possible but it will depend on othe criteria aswell (ie - how good is the Diff? - what tyres are you using, what rear suspension (stock should be good, TEINS are bad) and how good the driver is.

I looked into doing this once, but I would have had to buy 2 sets of injectors (non of the wreckers would split them) then I was going to get them cleaned and flow tested and use the best 6. Total cost was around $600 (for second hand injectors) - I then decided if I was going to pay that much I would rather spend $700-$800 for new ones rated at 550+

Thanks for the great photos

I purchased a car from interstate earlier this year, I took it to Sturt Rd rather than regency. There are a few potential traps if buying a car from Qld (I can elaborate if you have seen a car you like from up there)

Whats The Value Of A R33 Gtst?
4door_Sleeper replied to osiris23's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I have used the lower price myself, what I am saying is that the wording is "GREATER of Market or purchase price" - if you put a price that is TOO low you can be prosecuted. So long as you dont abuse it too much you should be OK. -

But the tax is still on the GREATER of the 2 values. If your mate sells you the car for $5,000, but market value is $15,000, you should still pay the tax on the $15,000. (Remember if you kill someone a good lawer can get you off, but if you steel from the Government you have got real trouble, they can and will persue you through every court in the land untill it is cheaper to pay the fine than the legal costs) -
For those who didnt make it, here is a rundown of the cruise. The 2 groups met up at Ingle farm and headed off. The roads were a bit wet so the pace was quite moderate. On the way down the George we passed a Cop Bike, who promptly did a U turn and sat in behind the 2nd car. He followed us all the way through to Loberthal (How many other clubs get a police escort) at 60 km/hr When we got out he mentioned he heard some wheel spin and that a cars wheels had crossed a double white line. He let us go without any problems (no "let me see under the bonnet" etc) I guess a group of imports going down the George is usually an indication someone will be speeding or doing something silly, so I guess I cant blame him for following us. It ended up beeing a waste of his time. After the regroup we headed off to Mt Lofty Summit for a chat. The weater started to turn bad and people went on their own way from there. It was good to put faces to the names on here. See you on the next cruise, hopefully the weather is a bit better and the roads more challenging.

From memory the tax is on the the GREATER of the "Purchase Price" or "Market Value", and there are penalties for declaring under the correct figure. That said I dont know if they do check, and I think most people drop the private sale rice by a few thousand. Be reasonable (especially if then question you) and you should be OK, its not worth the hassel for a saving of under $100 (one tank of fuel) -

Thanks GTS-TBoy The kit is a mix of bits form Australia and New Zealand (I had lots of trouble finding anything I liked for a 4 door, and the Impul kits gave me nothing but grief) All up, fitted it probably cost my $3000 Heres another pic from a different angle -
If you need rto ask this question, pay the money nd get it professionally done. Once its restored you can work on keeping it in top condition. Dont buff it with a powered buff unless you know what you are dooing, you can compleely remove the clear coat if you are not careful, edges are especially vulnerable, and swirl marks will probably be left behind.

DOT is the American standard, so they dont have to accept it. You may be better getting in contact with someone who sells your tyres and ask for parerwork etc to show they are legal. I dont think brakes will be an issue, but ensure your rims are legal (you suggested they were) and you should be fine.

My advice would be to give ATS a miss and go to GCG. 3 Adelaide workshops told me that the hiflows they see from ATS and others Adelaide turbo rebuilders dont make any more power than a stock turbo.
-
GCG is good for more than 260rwkw, I make 220 at 14psi and it can go a lot higher than that. If installed through a workshop the whole job should cost you about $2000 (installed and tuned), or you can buy direct from GCG for $1950 and then need to get it tuned (another $400)
-
I have recently gone down the same path as you and did a bit of research. For what its worth I found the GCG hiflow turbo is the best value for money (without the risk of going second hand). Many adelaide workshops told me that the hiflows they see (not from GCG) dont make any more power than a stock turbo (but dont break due to the steal turbine). The GCG unit makes 20% more power for the same boost level. Injectors are a pain because the RB25s are expensive, but you will need them to make much more than 220/230 RWKw. PS - I am assuming you already have a programable ECU and the fuel pump has been upgraded. (not sure you NEED to get a Z32 AFM but if the cash is there why not.)

I had trouble sellling a mildly modified R33 recently for $15K (sold my wifes BA Ford instead and kept the skyline) -
I didnt think the problem was a result of the pump, but rather oil starvation at the pickup during high lateral G's. Excuse my ignorance but how much of this problem could be fixed (for occasional track use) by increasing oil capacity and adding some strategic windage (sp?) in the sump. Is there also a problem with oil gathering in the rocker covers and not making it down to the sump?, if so can additonal (external) lines be added between the sump and head. PS - I realise in a dedicated track car the dry sump would be a better option, but many of us are not that serious and want a weekend - tack/street/drag/drift(?) car.

The skyline is a performance car that was designed to handel well (a drivers car) from its initial design. Holdens and Fords were designed as family commuters, (soft and cumfortable and built to the lowest price)then modified slightly (where possible) to handel for a (performance) option. Driving a Ford is a lot like stearing a boat, turn the wheel and wait a while for it to respond. (based on my experiences in our XF and BA) whilst the holdens are a lot tighter more like a skyline (feedback through the wheel) but both have way too much body roll and dont respond as well through the full range of suspension tavel.
