would be great to hear your results! when you get a chance. it seems that my 4wd is still functioning reasonably well, as when it is not (as has happened for half a rally ) it goes into wheel spin when the power comes on in third !! hehe but it would be great if the 4wd reaction was quicker with harder bite. i do have a 4wd controller that duncan sold me which has helped considerably. and also have a torque split controller fitted as well but i have never used it in racing or drags as it appears to get some driveline wind up when you get wheel spin, which was a bit concerning. cheers Russ -

thanks mate, yeah steering them isnt as easy when you have so much under your right foot is it! thanks for any info on transfer cases too, will be very keen to do something there! i am not exactly too hot at the drags either, i tend to side step it too much! and hey bingo the worlds worst 60 footers. i have never been near a 1.6 60 footer.! hey mik was the exige the one that had the tape on the back corner? i remember the silver rexy hatchy too! was my favorite round and cant wait to get back there. cheers Russ -

So true, so many times backyard engines are best! yeah snowy was on N1's. great performance from them! can anyone enlighten me as to the transfer case mods that can be done? i have read that there is something that can be improved , but have never found information relating to it. cheers Russell -

well done!! go the low mounts!! hmm thats got me thinkin! i,m not far off the mark. i went out to the test & tune at willowbank last week and ran 11.1@135 mph with a 2.1 60 footer. on low mounts. drove like a girl & wheels spun for two gears and didnt do a burn out( saving the tyres for the track day this weekend at wakefield, michelin pilots to expensive to burn up!!) the best it's run time wise before that was 10.85@133 with a 1.85 60 footer, but power has increased since then hence the higher mile an hour. will try and get back out soon for a better time. cheers Russ p.s car built by me, tuned by someone else -
find a tyre shop that does ON CAR balancing. that way they balance the whole assembly, works great. but if you remove your wheels later on make sure mark them to fit them in exactly the same spot on the hub. cheers Russell

snowman is spot on! its goodfun, i found the nsw round to be the most friendly to skylines as you do get more circuit track events than the other states, eastern creek and wakefield, airport runs, so the gtr's get to stretch their legs. cheers Russell

i hope they are okay richard! also hope martin is okay too! sounds like there were a few offs. i have watched an in car vid of the whole buller sprint, there seems to be plenty of places to get it wrong in a big way.

AS T04GTR STATED! very important to make sure it is bled up correctly as this can be the issue, also gtr fans sound very loud when they are working correctly so you will easily here it, if they are not coming in at low speed your engine will run hot. mine shit itself, changed to twin thermo fans. cheers Russ

Tein Super Street - What Do You Know?
giant replied to Blitz_boy's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I am currently running the Australian spec teins in both of my cars, r32 & evo9, and i am very happy with the results, in the evo the ride is softer than when i bought the car, but can be firmed up( i am using the in cab controller, saves trying to get in behind the bootliner to adjust, with this setup the car came second in the last round of the mt cotton hill climb championship(standard everything except an exhaust and airfilter), i think they are great value for money. in the gtr which i also ran at the hillclimb , the car was good enough for first place (46.1). the set up for street is perfect with no harshness or lack of spring control, the car is very comfortable to drive daily! also as a note the coilovers i took out were jap teins these things were like riding on solid blocks!! , i may firm up the gtr setup as the car is being pushed fairly hard but fulcrum will be doing that for me with a slight spring rate increase and revalve. (this car is a track day car and ran 10.87 last time at W.S.I.D) for more info on the teins, a gentlemen by the name of graham at fulcrum in brisbane was instrumental in the valving and spring setup for the Australian spec teins with tein engineer from japan. i hope this information is useful, but remember it is just what i found when using it on my cars. cheers Russell (the suspension was good enough for 56.8 on the sprint track at Q.R on semi slicks & 1:01.61 on the clubman) -
nah havent heard anything yet. snail mail also about a week ago. should be great, i really enjoyed wakefield last year. except when i went off!! i have heard martin nortarias ( i dont think i spelt that right) will be there but not in an evo. i am going to wakefield in a fortnight for a bit of a test (11th). cheers russ
