hmmm well.... i say .. what ever the law is at the time, milk it as best that you can.. in that find the most powerfull car you can possibly legally afford.... screw these older users who think these laws are a good idea, purely bassed on the fact that it doesnt affect them! The 125kw law screwed me... and i dont want anyone to have to go through what i went through, its not fun! (on that note, anyone wanna buy an r33 gts-t? lol) these laws wont change the fact that there will allways be dickheads on the road. the minorty screwed it for the majority. this is fact for christ sake its not the car its the freaking DRIVERS! ... so ban the drivers, not the cars! *sick of hearing older responsible opinions, you were young once.. and if this was the case when you were 18, in the market for a sports car, im sure you wouldnt see it the same way you do now!* -Angry Ruffels

no way.. skylines are tuned for japanese fuel (like 104oct) so its fine.. emmisions shouldnt be your worry.. your allowed 5% carbon monoxcide or what ever it was.. i had a screwed 02 sensor and still only blew 1.6% WAY under you'll be fine ... with sound just make a baffel plate with a few holes in it and jam it between one fo your flanges they rev skylines upto 4800rpm at epa and it cant exceed 90db
-
EPA is fun belive it or not skylines run very low emitions you'll pass emissions EASY however noise is your problem... bolting the silencer into the cannon is not good enough, when i failed noise at epa, i asked them if putting my silencer in there is good enough.. and they said no... only if it is completly welded in there.... and spot welding it a couple of times around the rim isnt good enough either! you should be right... -Ruffels

oh hell yeah... i loved my justjap cooler.. will prbably get another for my r32... great quailty... pressure drop was non existant at 10psi and cooling efficiency was fantastic i think unless your persueing massive horsepower.. hks and other brandy are just a waste of money -Ruffels

hey guys.. had a bit of a search, but couldnt find anything dirrectly towards my question... maybe i just cant search properly anyhow im looking for a set of coilovers to put into my car (93' R32 gts-4)... ive got a budget of around $1500 preferably im looking for brand new, as ive heard alot of second hand stuff needs rebuilding due to leaking shocks, nd that leeds me to my second dillemma.. if i were to need a rebuild i'd want to have ample local support ... that is why i went to local brand name Hotbits... ive heard good things about them, and with the added bonus of having them close by if anything goes wrong.. as aposed to a jap brand system... only problem is.. hotbits want $2500 for thier damper and height adjustable setup ... which is a good $1000 out of my price range.... can anyone suggest a locally made/supported suspension company that would have a nice setup in my price range ($1500ish) that has adjustable height and damper and that isnt too harsh (hence why im looking for adjustable damper) thanks -Mark

-
ohk.. well have never seen this before.. however in my r32... if you hold the up for both drivers and passenger windows at the same time while the windw is allready completly up, the doors lock! is this normal, or just a pretty cool electrical fault? -Mark

Gearbox / Clutch Noise
Ruffels replied to JC_R32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
my car has had this problem for the past 2 years or so (previous owner just put up with it) its not a big deal.. the gearbox isnt gonna go bang anytime soon just screwed bearings... if you can put up with the annoying noise, then it will go for ages.... if not... pay big bucks to get it fixed -Ruffels -
the big 19 happy birthday dude
-
yes.. i did it yesterday window works perfectly now undo all screws then get small flat head screw driver and prise open switch (has small clips on the side of switch box depending on the age/condition of the car.. the solder on the circuit board might have corroded and you may need to un-solder and resolder all the wires back in.. however 90% of the time.. its carbon build up on the contacts of the switches that stops connection between the contacts and the circuit board.. hence why windows not budging.. or only occasional movement when switched are violently applied you need to take the whole thing apart.. and sand all the carbon build up off the connection points works awesome after that -Ruffels (credit goes to foznice who showed me how to fix this problem)
-
you guys are all slack'as take the switch out, pull it apart you'll find a nice big carbon build up on the buttons connection points... grab some fine sand paper and some electrical contact cleaner and clean those connections windows will work after this
