mate of mine used his friends AU XR6 ute to tow his R33 on a tandem trailor over 250km! the ute did fine, whether or not this would work for a long term solution or not is another question!

yeah i live near you too! and the other day mates and i were hanging out in a quiet spot just having a chat... next thing cops rock up, extreamly rude to us, we tried to be polite as possible, next second they opened the doors of our cars with out asking or saying a word to us about what they were doing, feet on my seat, ripping open glove boxes, and centre consoles etc, found nothing and then proceeding to pat us down against our cars, finding nothing once again... handing our liscences back and then burning off! WTF? they act on the basis that most people dont know thier rights, but when people do they seem to get aggressive and intimidatting about it... now i know im making it out although all cops are like this! and dont get me wrong ... not all cops are like this! how ever it has been just my luck that the ones that are polite and know how to do thier jobs right dont seem to ever pull me over!

from what ive heard as long as its clearly on the front of the vehicle and is perpendicular to the road its fine... but police discresion and hard to understand laws, these kind of things often become tricky.. you should be allright though, good to see wonderful police resources were being used to fine you for your number plates, whilst a real crime was being commited only to find police resources tied up in other locations for things such as these!

i was passing through last night, driving my drunk mates around in another mates car, all i can say is.. wtf, came up to noble park maccas and all i see when i come over the hill is hundreds , even thousands of people... luckily no one through anything at the car, quickly got out of there as best i could, but parked to have a bit of a sticky beak... wasnt the best idea.... these people were out of control, one kid was going nuts with a pole bashing the crap out of all the traffic lights, i think he ruined a good 4 sets of traffic lights, also someone lit up a flare and started throwing it around, random fights and punch ons, total disreguard for property and the law.... when it apeared to have died down, we got back in the car and left, i thought the police were bloacking the roads, but they were only blocking the entrances, not exits ... and now ive heard all this, good thing we left when we did, coz i didnt want to be there for riot squads and dogs :s some people really need to grow up, kinda scary to think that the people i saw doing that stuff are the adults of tomorrow, wonder if our parents got up to shit that bad when they were young!

R32 Gts-4, What Clutch? Help!
Ruffels replied to Ruffels's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
found out by counting the number of teeth on the gears today and working out the gear ratios, it has turned out its a gts-4 box -
hey guys i have a 1993 r32 gts-4, the car used to be auto (so nissan fast tells me anyways, i believe its true from certain interior parts that show it was converted) ... anyways it has since been converted, im guessing the auto -> manual conversion was done in japan, because the guy i bought the car off was the first aussie owner and knew nothing about it! anyways im not sure what gearbox it has in there now whether it be a gts-t or gtr or gts-4 gearbox i pulled the clutch out and found a number on the friction plate, gave excedy a call to find out the clutch was a gtr clutch... so the question is .. do i have a gtr gearbox? or does a gts-4 gearbox take a gtr clutch? is there anyways to find out for sure, because i need to get replacement parts from nissan for the gearbox thanks guys -Ruffels

hmm good to hear your okay! its an interesting thing on what to do when your confronted with a roo... i find the best possible thing is not to swerve... but just to brake as hard as possible and loose as much speed as possible... as you found the hard way kanga's get nervous and just start hopping all over the road... but when your put in that situation you dont really have alot of time to think what the best plan of attack is.. your instincts to just try and miss the kangaroo kick in! anyways cars can be fixed, and your ok so thats what matters really!

nah its turbo hence me talking bout using a batmbl dump/front pipe
-
hey guys, before i go buying, just wanted to get a certain answer, my 1993 R32 gts-4 requires a completely new exhaust system as the current standard pipes have rusted through and are leaking, i want to replace the whole system with a nice stainless catback system, and some form of split dump/front pipe like a BATMBL one however alot of things on the car are gtr spec, for example when i bought the new suspension i had to make sure i got gtr suspension as gts-t suspension would not fit, is the exhaust in the same boat as my suspension? like do i need a gts-t dump/front pipe and then a gtr catback? what is the go? it would be good if someone could give me some ideas on what to get cheers -Ruffels

they are very easy to install.. you mount the small control unit in the cabin.. positive to accessories, and then earth to chassis... then wire run through firewall to actuator unit which should be mounted near the turbo side of the engine bay, and then there are 3 outlets on them from memory, read the instructions, one goes to wastegate actuator, other to vacumn line and other one stays unconnected fairly sure there isnt much else to them, quite simple really -Ruffels

i got done for power to weight twice in 2 days.. even made me walk home lol its a risk you take, douzens of people get away with it and are lucky, others dont! so if you think its worth the risk, then yeh go for it... others also mention the fact that driving it illegally will void your insurance, that is also another risk you take, i know of a few people who have made claims in thier r33 gts-t on thier p's and had no problems, mav would be one of them that many know! its a risk you are taking, just gotta weigh up the pro's and cons... after i was done for power/weight (which is now $120~ and no points) used to be $110) i ended up buying an r32 gts-4 turbo, which isnt a bad little car although the problems ive had with it... just dont rush into it if your serious though, ive got a fairly stock very nice R33 gts-t for sale -Ruffels

yeah cluch is fine still nice and solid like normal i was there helping the mechanic (girl friends dad) fix the headgasket, gearbox wasnt touched and engine was left in place although not long after i got it back the car would not move while turning at low speeds (car is a r32 gts-4) and the torque gauge was going off tap i didnt want to have to deal with it for the time being so i just pulled the fuse and ran the car in 2wd and those problems stopped that night the problems i mentioned in my first post happened the slave cyl reivour is plenty full and i even drove home in 3rd gear, so the clutch itself is fine too. just getting in and out of gears was the issue just went out to the car a minute ago to see if i could move the gear stick... nothing pretty much the only movement i get from it is a slight up and down movement, cant even get that nice side to side movement you get while in neutral is there a selctor or linkage inside the box that could be broken... i have no idea whats going on! thanks -Ruffels

hey guys just got car back from mechanics today fixing the headgasket i blew .. thats all sweet but driving the car around today for a few hours, and the change into 3rd gear from 2nd and then the change from 3rd to 4th gear were extreamly stiff.. andyways ... cruising up a steep hill in 3rd, need the exra oumfff to get up the hill.. so i go to change down to 2nd and i get nothing... i got the car out of 3rd gear, but then i couldnt get it back into any gears what so ever i managed to get the stick into what felt like 1st gear... but the car didnt go anywhere... it jus reved out initially i thought i' done the clutch, but after a couple of minuted i manged to well and truely force it inot what feels like 3rd gear and limp it the 4km home... was just lucky i didnt get any red traffic lights lol what could it be causing me to not be able to get the car into gear i know the mechanics didnt do anything, because i was helping them do the head gasket replacement the whole time and nothing was touched any ideas? -Ruffels

Ruffels replied to GTRNUR's topic in General Automotive Discussion
oh my god, you sound like my long lost brother! i too have a gts4, found out little supprises every day found out that it used to be auto, and has been converted.... also over heated due to blocked radiator (blew the head gasket, and only got it home this morning from the mechanics, new timing belt, idler, tensioner, headgasket, shaved head, new water pump, new valve stem seals, every gasket replaced, every hose replaced, new radiator, new thermostat, new clutch fan, etc list goes on) broekn exhaust studs (its a common skyline thing) but yeah many of those borken for me too, now fixed air con not working either and dodgy stereo wring, list goes on ... not to mention when i bought it, it had a full 1989 browny gts-t interior, how ever its a 1993 model and should have the bluey grey velour lol.. just got home from bout 6km away in 3rd gear all the way, coz i couldnt get it into any gears just lucky i got all the lights... hmm so shoul be getting towed to mechanics again soon *sigh* -
