  1. There will always be naive people that will believe the BS sales people spin. Hope he didn't over pay for an under performing car.
  2. Are you all serious? Do you really think 5yrs of research and enhancements produce nothing. Ash your 270rwkw was produced using a 600hp turbo, my 270rwkw using a GTRS (420hp turbo). So do cams and porting work?....... YES Unfortunately I do not have unlimited funds to do dyno runs before and after each single mod, for the benifit of people I have never met. The porting was done by a very experienced person, that goes by his philosophy "more is not always best", and was far from a cheap exercise. But if you believe the STD cast head can not be improved, well time to re-evaluate you opinion. Yes STD heads can flow the power, but how much bigger turbo do you need? How much more boost is required? How much torque is achieved? How are the graphs comparable?
  3. We are talking about RB25 Vs RB25neo, not r33 Vs R34. So keeping that in mind we are comparing the performance of the engines not the cars. So do people really think all the above enhancements don't improve the performance? I had a high flow rb25 turbo (with the VG30 ext housing) and my r33 rb25, with tomei poncams and extensive race head porting, managed to produce a respectable 268rwkw. When i upgraded to the GTRS turbo, i sold the high flow to a mate with an r34. The 100% stock/unopened neo engine made 273rwkw using the same turbo on the same dyno. In other words; i had to spend over $2k to achieve the same results as a std rb25neo.

    Track Day :( ?

As above But just to add to that. I would seriously consider starting with a Driver Dynamics track day, at Sandown. It's like a beginners track day and they have about 4-5 professional instructors to jump in the car with you should you need some advise.
  5. No offence bud, but did you do a 6000rpm launch out of your car space? How on earth do you drive over a bollard far enough to dent your front pipe? I would have thought the sound of you front lip/bar scrapping or the feel of the wheel(s) going over the bollard would have indicated to stop, well before your exhaust.
  6. The rsm has one triggered output. Use that output to trigger a relay, and the relay to power the shift light. I can't remember if the rsm output is -ve or +ve triggered, so you'll have to work that out yourself. I did this for a mate, in his 33. Not sure why you need to splice it in the rpm wire, as the rsm has a output wire. You then program the rsm to trigger that output at a certain rpm.
  7. True, but the front is lowered alot more than the rear, just look at the clearance between the tyres and arches. On a level car the front arches sit higher than the rear.
  8. I am 95% sure in saying yes.
  9. OP6 is the same size as the VG30 rear housing, so you have the bigger of the two housings, available for the R34.
  10. I'll be there, work permitting

    Track Days?

So how old are those re55s Dane?
  12. Ren seems like you know it all mate, so what's with this thread? Saying "you have a lack of knowledge" is not calling you stupid or insulting you, it's just say that to diagnose a fault you need to know the products involved. Yes, the wolf can work without the TPS, but it's harder to tune and more "unstable" as it only uses one reference point/sensor (MAP) to tune. BTW the 02 sensor is only used for closed loop applications, but hey you already know that right

    Track Days?

Differance is, he's got 4wd traction 400kw and response is pretty useless when you can't put it to the ground, I know because I'm stuggling with 320rwkw and there isn't much else I can do to improve the situation. I even have Toyo T1r tyres, that have failed to supply the required traction.

    Track Days?

So the rumours are true............Have I converted you to the dark side
  15. The R34 GTT had two different exhaust housings, one was identical to the VG30.I have seen this on my mate's (bassjunkie) 34, when he purchased a VG30 housing for his hi-flow, only to find the housings where identical, with the same casting numbers, etc.
  16. Mine was known as a sierra-sierra combination, apart from that i have no real idea what was done to it, before i purchased it second hand, as a r33 std hi-flow. I know GCG no longer made this combination, with the bearing centers, due to the compressor surge issue. I agree with the regarding wheel size, the problem was that the compressor wheel was too big for the housing. By going a bigger exhaust housing i was trying to keep the factory looking turbo, but moving the flow a little higher in the rev range, where the engine may use the extra gasses.
  17. All depends on how deep your pockets are mate. If you have the money i would definitely go the forge route with the std crank and all other performance parts (arp bolts, acl bearing, etc, etc). My engine has been tuned to 8000rpm but i keep the limiter at 7200rpm, just like the factory rb25det. You can put NOS on all engines, just depends how good your tuner is.
  18. You can also check the vacuum line to the ecu. The ecu should be located in the passenger kick panel. Remove the kick panel and make sure the line is firmly on the nipple and is not kinked or split. Follow the line to the firewall, then open the bonnet and trace it to the plenum; make sure it's all connected properly there too. Also check to see if the line has been sliced, to use with a boost gauge or something like that; if so make sure that has no leaks too. It is preferred that the ecu has it's own vacuum line and does not share it with gauges, etc.
  19. Ooops took too long to post my reply. The TPS is the Throttle Position Sensor, the wolf ecu definitely needs this input. Do you have a hand controller?
  20. I love it when people give advice on a product they have no clue on Not to be rude reN, but you have very little knowledge of the car and it's ecu. Best to take it to a Wolf approved w/shop to sort out your issues. If you live in Melb i highly recommend EAS (refer to my sig); if on the East side of Melb you can also go to Sabbadin: 95584422. If you live in another state here is the wolf website www.wolfems.com.au , where you can find a local w/shop. You can try to contact Steve at AEM, but i know he is an extremely busy man and if you get hold of him will ask you to go to a recommended w/shop. He is even busier now that Rob (Customer support tech/tuner/etc), is on holidays. Steve's and Rob's services are really only called upon by those that have an understanding of how engines work, how to tune an engine and how to diagnose faults. Without this basic knowledge, you'll be wasting their VERY limited time.
  21. I had an r33 hi-flow got it tuned and made 250ish rwkw. Got fed up of the compressor surge and upgrade to the larger VG30/R34 rear housing and made 274rwkw. Still had the compressor surge issue and sold the turbo to a friend (who loved the sound) and the turbo was fitted to his std rb25neo and made exactly the same power, on the same dyno, as my 33 did with poncams and porting. The increase is more like 20rwkw.
  22. My mate had this bonnet on his car, till i bought it; when he was selling the 33. My car
