Personally, I'd avoid Springvale like the plague. Took a trip to get cash out @ Safeway supermarket a few years ago. The place next door was derelict & had corrugated iron over the windows. Junkies had kicked the front door in & 4 ran inside. I had a smack head following me around the front of Safeway persistently trying to sell me heroin. Could wait to get out. I wasn't there to see it, but having read this thread thus far, I feel it poor form on the cops behalf to dick enthusiasts for having a car show. Illegal mods are illegal, but a bit ghey to throw the book @ ppl for behaving themselves. Could have hung around for any drivers on departure. They should be working towards better relationships with car clubs and not getting ppls backs up for getting together at a static meet. Bit like the cop convergence @ Docklands on fund raising cruises for charities. Weak! Shame on the person who called this possibly unnecessary harassment.

Recently got a Sony Ericsson W810i. No plan, just outright purchase. Shit hot phone with cpacity for up to 4GB mem card, mp3/video capability. Loved it to bits for 1 month, then went fishing & it fell outta my pocket and into the surf. Flushed and revied it but it corroded to all get out and it's now stuffed. Thinking about getting an iMate now or maybe a DOPOD.

Spotted a white Corolla wagon with a speed camera setup near cnr of Cantebury & Bayswater Rd's in Bayswater on Sunday. Usually you see them in Sana Fe's or Navara twin cab utes. In Brisbane they are everywhere in Landcruiser GXL's with police signwriting.

A mate of mine is a panel beater and suggests not using the carlovers style self washes. He reckons the hand brush thingo's scratch your paint. Best to use a high density sponge as they old less grit. You gotta watch some high-pressure washers too. I washed my first car at Caltex in Werribee and noticed a dull spot on the rear pillar. So I hit it again with the pressure washer there and then I realised that I was blasting off the clear coat! haha.

It's a govt. thing. So they are viewed as supporting their own people I am assuming. Mate, what ppl are saying is true. Those mods are illegal. Nismoid should know - lol! I reckon you'd drastically reduce attention with a quick repray to a less-loud colour. Surely you saw it as an attention-seeking colour before you purchased/sprayed the car?? Cops are humans to you know. ;0)

Hi Gang, Firstly, let me say that I am not a huge aussie car fan. I think that the reliability, build quality and over all design of foreign cars surpass our local stuff, but that's not the point. The Mrs has a new job and there is an option to lease a new car. I haven't seen the documentation yet, but the company's rules are that it must be a locally made car and, as I am led to believe, it must be new. Her boss has an XR8 which reportedly costs about $10k p.a. which includes fuel, servicing, rego, insurance, tyres, etc. I think that's a good deal, but I need to see the facts on paper and any fine-print. Not sure if FBT is an additional factor here. Anyone? I am so over my practical, yet some borng FWD magna wagon. She was over it b4 me, so that's a suprise. I would like a car with a bitta how-you-doin (the go-go). Something with some driver involvement. I miss my Line! I cannot buy a liner as they are 2 door (impractical with a baby) and imports. I love the liberty wagons but they aren't aussie. A wagon would be preferable. As I need a large-ish family car, the options are probably a Magna wgn (aaaargh!), a BA XR6T or XR8, or a Commodore. I think they make wgns, which puts them in a good position against the Fords who don't. A Territory was another thought, but performance (ie a Turbo) sets you back around $55k + on-roads. Any realistic ideas (a Focus XR5 / Golf GTi is not realistically pratical). Cheers.

I question that statement wilch. By "Desktop packaing" do you mean a std rollout jb, coz if so there's no way u'd be paid that! Doesn't sound very glamrous.
