  1. If you match the correct tyre profile, you don't need to fiddle with the speedo. If you have the incorrect tyre profile, it will show a higher or lower speedo reading.
  2. I'm running Yoko's a-spec. You can' buy them at normal tyre places as they aren't DOT approved. But hell they grip very well. I've got 255/40/17 all round on mine. Paid about 280 a piece at Eagle tyres in Granville. Considering I'm quite aggressive on the track, they seem to be doing the job very well. Fatz has e-specs, and they look evil. I might try to source them next.
  3. Name: Toulia (aka Tool-man) Age: 22 Car: R32 GTR (Silver obviously!!!) Location: South Wst Syd. I've seen a few other GTR's out Canley Vale way. Has anyone seen that S13 silvia that's perl white and painted a fluro-blue at the bottom? Its always parked on Canley Rd, near Cumberland Hwy? Damn that's ugly!
  4. Falkens are the most crap tyres I've come across. Too soft the edges - not communicative. Wear seems OK. I found the goodyear F1's better and about the same price.
  5. Speaking of door pods, remember the kick panels with speakers on them? I had a mate which spent 600 bucks EACH! for 2 at the front.
  6. GTR!!!! At Bathurst!!!!! The king is coming back to claim the crown!!!
  7. Zman, Last time I went to Rigoli, they told me that I could boost my WRX to 15psi with a standard intercooler. Yeah sure, but how long will the motor/gearbox last?
  8. Merli is right about the treads being deleted. I posted a message and it went into thin air. As for if they are friends, who gives a flying f**k. I have not recieved my goods and still waiting. That little stunt by Razor is of no help either to those of us who haven't recieved out goods.
  9. Those Phillips are to fill in the rear. So why spend so much? As for the Kenwood subs, at the time, they were the best 12" on the market. Remember that I brought this around 1996 or 7 I think. Trust me, they killed a lot of other stuff on the market at that time.
  10. I've pretty much come to that conclusion also. Can someone confirm if their "business" is legit? Is it registered?
  11. Has anyone recieved anything yet? Have anyone heard anything?
  12. I was told that mine was sent out on the 21st June. If I don't get anything, I'll settle this matter my own way.
  13. ONARUN - Wakefield is a great track for first timers. Very forgiving and plenty of run-off space. I'd go but I'm attending the drivers course on the 6 and 7 Aug, then on the 8th at EC. Need to rest my car before I blow something. I really recommend this track for first timers.
  14. Why do people put Hill and Hakkinen down??? As Ron Dennis put it, "You don't go winning championships in F1 overnight." That's always the excuse when it comes to Schuey not winning a championship ie. lack of equipment. Have people forgotten that Ferrari (until Toyota came along) that technically have no budget? They pretty much spend as much as they can to win.
  15. OK, OK.... Can someone answer this question. If an oil has good temperature stability, is it the better oil? Oil's making 5kw or more to me means nothing as it has to do the basic function, protect the motor. My thinking is that if it holds temperature better, it has less wear and tear on the motor, thus is the better oil.
  16. It should. I brought a GTR one and looking at the nismo one, there's no difference.
  17. The power fc needs air flow meters I think. From all cars I've seen with power FC's, they run AFM anyway. Why don't you want to run AFM's anyway? I thought that if your chasing massive HP, go MAP sensors. But if your not going to go all crazy with HP, then stick with AFM's.
  18. Duncan, He did that in one of my mate's Toyota Celica. It was at the track day which I organised a while back. One of my friends was tailing him and counted 3 times when the rear lights flashed. They timed him and he did 1 min and 16 sec I think. That's damn quick considering the best he could manage before was 1:32, and 1:26 afterwards.
  19. No cops were there so they can't determine the speed, full stop. They can't go to the scene and pick a skid mark and work off that. She stuck her head out where it wasn't supposed to be, and that's it. Chances are the insurance company will not pay out. But I reckon play a little mind game with them and that the matter futher. They know she's in the wrong, even though you were speeding. I had this with problem before but I went through my insurance comany and it was all fixed. In future, don't drive an uninsured car on the road. It's not worth the troubles.
  20. I guess it's the potential that it offers.
  21. Report this to the police right away!!! Did you ask for her insurance deatils? Any witnesses?
  22. Sorry to say but the GTR is strictly for road/track. Therefore the audio is stock as a rock, except for the Kennwood deck. Less weight. The WRX however, was more interesting. Deck was an Alpine unit with an equaliser and 10 stack CD. Front splits were 6' MB Quartz splits and the rear were 6' Phillips 2 way. The Subs were 2 Kenwood. Amps were 2 Nakamichi. One was a 4 way (for the splits) and a 2 way (bridged for the subs). Pretty hairy stuff as I was after clarity rather than noise. But then again, that car was total rice. That + bodykit + lowered 18' rims. You get the drift.
  23. I would have to say go slotted rotors. Currently my standard rotors have little hairline cracks. This is caused by heating the rotors up, then cooling down quickly. Best bet, change fluid and get better pads. Sometimes fade is caused by the fluid boiling. If that's not enough, change brake hose lines to braided ones. This will stop the sponge feeling of the brakes under load. If this doesn't work, go rotors. If that doesn't work, calipers. And if that doesn't work, god help you!! Trick is, go the cheapest option, to the expensive option. Most guys I know at the track with 33 gtst's have standard rotors/calipers and do good times. Just good pads and skills are needed to get good times. Ric Shaw (racer) only brakes 3 times when he's at Wakefield!!! Yeah.... :uh-huh:
  24. Well, looks like team orders are here to stay. Ferrari have been fined $1 million (US I think), not for the moving over incident, but for making a mockery of the podium ceromony.
  25. In my old WRX, I never used 6x9's in the rear. Because I've always believed that 6x9 are for those who can't fit a sub. Keep in mind that I'm after clarity rather than loudness. 6x9's plus a sub will make the bass sound muffled. But if your after loudness, fit 6x9's in the rear.
