  1. SW20-GT, how much was the lower lip that you said someone was quoted, do you know a place that sells them cheaper?
  2. yeah, catch cans seem to catch nothing but condensation, i had one on my old commodore, it wasn't until i installed the catch can that the oil in the head become milky.
  3. mine did the same thing when i installed the atmo bov( no probs with stalling though), cant remember what i did to fix the boost, however if your cars stalling try using the HKS Electronic Idling Stabilizer (negun sell it for $150) discription: (ripped from nengun) The HKS EIDS has been developed to buffer dramatic airflow meter signal fluctuations. By buffering these fluctuations the EIDS prevents engine stalling or stumbling associated with sudden imbalances in air/fuel ratio of airflow meter-equipped vehicles that utilize atmosphere venting blow-off valves.
  4. powerplay's a little expensive though ($3500 and its not a genuine piece). Just Jap are selling a genuine used GTR front bumper for $995, try fitting a genuine bumper instead - alot cheaper . your going to need a gtr style bonnet as well, go for the carmate.com stuff as they sell carbon-fiber gtr bonnets in all the styles; they also have a gtr rear wing in carbon fiber to match the hood
  5. im guessing the east bear r34 kit would be made for the non-gtr models, so yeah, the east bear gtr bonnet should go on however i think the gtr front bumper doesn't require it as it looks asthough you can attach apiece on top of the exsisting stock bumper to cover the gap at th etop. are you going fo the whole bumper or just the gtr style lower skirt attachment?
  6. i fillup every couple weeks usually by that time as soon i pull into the petrol station the light comes on while im waiting, once filled i reset the trip a soon as i get in the car. I dont know whats going on this week as i've used up a quarter already and i've only done about 60km, and thats driving like im driving miss daisy, sometimes i get good fuel economy (for my car atleast) some weeks i don't even though i drive the same, whats will the inconsistencies?!?!
  7. i get about 300-320km out of tank (premium) in my r34 (using the soidnoid mod therefore running a bit more boost), thats driving normally however the fuel gauge shows that at half-tank i've done about 200km then technically i should get another 200km out of the rest but i only get atleast 100km seems to go down alot quicker after half way. alittle of topic but does your skylines have a strong petrol smell as soon as you get out of the car after a decent drive? mine does and im just wondering if this normal.
  8. yeah you can do it, you just dont get the noise through the gear changes however it doesn't mean you cant have one. But if you want a cooler noise, install an fmic w/ pod filter, much louder and sounds alot better when you get off the throttle. (you get that noice flutter sound)
  9. click on the topics.
  10. Heres what not to do: http://www.barryboys.co.uk/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=12
  11. I fitted a 600x300x75mm FMIC (r33 style) about a month ago, i didn't have to move the trans cooler just flipped the sensor that sticks out however the wiper watertank needed to be moved since the piping for the right side needs to go through the body there. take a look at some of pics after it was done: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/802508 best bet is to go for a kit made for the rb25det since both in the in/out pipes will go done one side through the stock pipe holes, eliminating alot of work.
  12. Nengun sell a HKS product that prevents atmosphere style BOV from stalling the car. However i had no problems with a GFB mach 1 atmospheric type on my r34. http://www.nengun.com/catalogue/product/578
  13. is it possible to ship in un-modified r34 xenon headlights? would it be legal to use them here in au?
  14. make your own like i did and save yourself $50.
  15. yay! more power! not too noticable in an auto but there is slightly better acceleration in the lower rpm range, no longer need to kick the auto down a gear.
  16. there should be a bracket thing down behind the battery for that rod hook thing.
  17. japanese cars win, for their technology and not using displacement for tried and true power gain like so many australian and american cars.
  18. i did an FMIC install a few weeks back with little/no instructions, also to make it even harder it was an r33 style fmic kit and guy didn't even know if it was going to fit. After a full weekend of grinding, hacking and cutting the modding was complete, horns were moved to the latch bracket, the wiper watertank was truned 90degrees and the bonnet supports were hacked up a little. Have a few shots up on cardomain: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/802508
  19. you shouldn't need to take the wheel off to check, rebound adjustable suspension usually has a nob/screw you turn on the top end of the shock, pop the hood and check. height adjustable suspension should have a thread and nut on the lower end of the spring - try raising the suspension height to see if that gives a better ride.
  20. i got the flutter sound once i put on a pod filter which is a lot louder than the BOV going off.
  21. damn, the gtr has better economy than my gtt.
  22. the vacumme nipple thing on the end of BOV is adjustable, thats only thing that is suggested to be adjusted to stop the engine from stalling however i didnt need to with mine - factory default adjustment worked fine. Also, dont forget get to plug the return pipe.
  23. fo sure, nissan's build quality standards is alot higher than most western cars, almost on par with the bmws or mercs.
  24. had the car for a month then the coilpacks started to die, its a given though since r34s are known for their coilpack failures. other than that the skyline is alot better than my old commodores, however the supra seemed to have a slightly better motor, ran silky smooth, the nissan motors are a little noiser.
