  1. There are already 5 sets sold, only 20 to go. Plus I have a regular trade customer who wants 4 sets. So I have no doubt we will get to the 25. Cheers Gary
  2. It's a GTR, the front drive shaft angle limits the amount of caster adjustment. Cheers Gary
  3. I am not ignoring what you said, I am simply comparing it with my own different experiences and coming up with a different result. Don't get me wrong I am not saying that a GT35R is a laggy pile of crap, the comparison is closer than that. Perhaps we are seeing different results because I am comparing the same car, same tuner, same race track etc and we do spend a lot of time and effort searching for minute improvements in response. We even sacrifice horsepower for improved throttle control if that's the best answer to faster race pace. So I'm comparing the same car tuned for maximum response with 2 different turbos, don't worry so much about a handfull of horsepower, don't care about the shove in the back, the data log is my judge, jury and executioner. Hillclimbs reward traction in low gears, they don't give a meaningful comparison with floating a car throught a high G force turn in 3rd or 4th gear, using the throttle to balance the chassis. That's when that poofteenth of faster response pays off. You can see it in the data log, the throttle sensor shows the driver input and the long G shows the accceleration as a result of that input, any delay is measurable and comparable. Cheers Gary
  4. A number of guys have been chasing me for the Noltec Adj Front Upper Control Arms for R32GTST, R32GTR and R32GTS4. With the take over of Noltec late last year, manufacturing was discontinued and they were no longer available. I have obtained a very limited number of components to make the kits and made them availabe only to SAU on a Group Buy. These are the "Motorsport" version which features reduced flex under heavy duty track use as experienced when using "R" type tyres and/or slicks. There looks to be only 25 kit sets able to be manufactured, so first in gets them. They are expected to take 3 to 4 weeks to manufacture. Genuine Noltec replacement bushes will always be available as they take the standard dimensions. When they were available from Noltec they were $539 for the pair. The Group Buy price will be $399 including delivery. Please PM the order and, as usual, payment can be made by credit card or direct deposit. Cheers Gary

  7. Eastern Creek crowd figures are very average, but that's because the place is crap for spectating. Oran Park on the other hand has great crowds, always has, because you can see most of the cirrcuit, most of the time, from most spectator spots. Cheers Gary
  8. Maybe we are talking about 2 different things, coming from a circuit racing perspective my observations are based on the speed of the response from the engine when I move the throttle. Looking at a dyno graph tells me nothing about throttle response. Stick it in 4th gear, load it up against the dyno and even the laggiest turbo looks OK, because it's not measuring throttle response. There is no way I can do the same lap times with a GT325R on a 2.6 litre as I do with it when it's 2530 equipped. I can't drive it on the throttle because the response to my inputs is simply too slow. That's why an RB26 has multiple throttle bodies close to the engine, that's why it has twin turbos mounted close to the exhaust ports, it's all about the maximising the speed of the response that's required for winning in circuit racing. A simple example of one piece of a complex puzzle, looking at a dyno graph doesn't tell you how long the exhaust gas takes to get from the exhaust valve to the turbine blades. Forget the relative sizing of the turbines, forget the 6 cylinders versus 3 cylinders. Think about 1 cylinder having a 2530 turbine that is ~30 mm away from its exhaust port and how much faster it is going to respond than a GT35R turbine that is 300 mm away from the exhaust port. Cheers Gary
  9. The Whiteline catalogue only lists the common part numbers. They take less than half of the applications we have. In Selbys Swaybars we make 20 mm, 22 mm, 24 mm, 26 mm, 27 mm, 30 mm and 32 mm rear swaybars for HR31's, adjustable if you want. Cheers Gary
  10. The Group Buy Selbys Swaybars are $244 each, buy 2 and you get them delivered free. That's adjustable swaybars as used on Giant's R32GTR at Tsukuba, John P's 300ZX and over 100 SAU guys that have participated in the Group Buys as follows; R33GTST http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=85467 R33GTR http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...tel-t87826.html R32GTR http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=87521 R34GTT http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=88141 R32GTST http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=85591 Cheers Gary
  11. Nope, the teflon coating itself provides the slip. Oil retention coating does exactly what it says, holds a film of oil which itself does the slip. The teflon eventually wears off, whereas the oil retention coating lasts a lot longer. Cheers Gary
  12. Cost $1200 (RB30+RB25DE) to build 9 years ago, 80,000 k's and still going strong at 475 bhp (engine dyno). Simple rules, ZERO knock, maximum 1 bar of boost, no leaner than 11.5 A/F ratios when on boost, no more than 6,750 rpm, service it regularly and use good oil (Castrol Edge 10W60). Cheers Gary
  13. My experience is exactly the reverse. I have had a GT35R (0.82 A/R turbine) on an RB30 and 2530's on an RB26 and the 2530's on the RB26 were much more responsive, even with the 17% less capacity. Both were tuned pretty much the same, on the same dyno, by the same tuner, with the same dump back exhaust, intercooler etc. But the 2530's were noticeably superior in throttle response every time. Personally there is no way I would use a GT35R on a 2.6 litre, the pooor response would pee me off day 1. Cheers Gary
  14. A repost for those that may not have read it; For the guys who want/need to change the height of their Stagea regularly then there is an option using the Group Buy kit plus a Bilstien coil over conversion kit (threaded sleave + top and bottom spring seats) with Eibach springs. It simply slides over the shock and retains over the circlip groove. Looks like this; Rears Front Obviously with the Eibach springs and the wide window that the Bilstein valving allows, there is a choice of spring rates. Currently I am running 275 lbs/inch (5 kg/mm) front and 225 lbs/inch (4 kg/mm) rear, which are only slightly higher than the Whiteline rates at the front and the same at the rear. I will try 250's in the rear for towing when the R32GTST is finished its refurbish. The coil over conversion costs around $900 and includes 4 main Eibach springs, 2 Eibach tender/helper springs, 4 threaded sleaves, 4 top spring seats, 2 intermediate spring seats, 4 bottom spring seats and 4 lock rings. C spanners for adjusting the height can be purchased from any CBC or NBC bearing shop. Cheers Gary
  15. Try the Group Buy, the 3 kits replace the most commonly worn bushes . Radius rod bushes $110 (allows caster adjustment), front camber kit $183 and rear camber kit $125 (allow camber adjustment). The Rear Subframe Alignment Kit $105 suplements the standard bushes and allows rear squat adjustment. Check out the Stagea Suspension thread for pictures and fittings. Cheers Gary
  16. 1. $2,400 2. Don't know, I have never worked in a retail workshop. It's around a 6 hour job for 1 guy, @ say $100 an hour, maybe $600 or so. 3. Heasmans at Sydenham are the best, not the cheapest, but definitely the best. Exceller Steering at Bankstown, Bruce is a straight shooter and does good work. John Leffler at StGeorge Steering knows more about suspension than almost everyone. If you don't want to travel, Adrian Moore at Gladesville is OK as is Graham from Jim Hunters at Blacktown. Cheers Gary
  17. It's an R32GTST but it gives the right impression of what the kit looks like in action; Group Buy link follows; http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=85591 Cheers Gary
  18. Group Buy link follows; http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=85467 100 or so happy SAU Skylines. Cheers Gary
  19. All motorsport fans share the same thoughts, temporary circuits deprive the permanent circuits of their big money making event for the year. That means less permanent circuits for us all. CockRun wants a monopoly, he wants all advertising and promotional money for circuit racing to go to V8's. He doesn't want other classes, categories or levels of motorsport taking away his potential revenue. he would be quite happy to see all permanent circuits close and the only circuit racing be V8's. Take a look at what the Clipsal has done to SA circuit racing, it sucks all the money out of the state and leaves none for AIR or Mallala. With 3 permanent circuits booked every day of the year, I am not sure that I can agree with this though. Plus the highest long term attendance crowds at Bathurst and the most watched motorsport event, which is also happens to be in NSW. Based on what I see I'd say circuit racing in NSW is way ahead of any other state, and I get to most circuits around the country at least once a year. Take Improved Production for example, NSW has more competitors than the rest of the states added together. Cheers Gary
  20. A quick summary; We have fitted block mounted oil squirters to RB30's in the past, but it is very time consuming and hence costly. Plus not all RB30 blocks are suitable, the oil gallery castings are not consistent and we rejected around 2 out of every 3 blocks. You don't find out until you start drilling, so unsuitable blocks are just scrap. The current process is to ceramic coat the pistons crowns and oil retention coat the skirts. Then we machine oil squirters into the conrods in the same way as Honda does on its S2000 engines and others. This method doesn't compromise the strength of the conrod like the older drilling of holes used to. Over 30 RB30's have been done this way and not one of them has had a problem with piston crown overheating, even at over 850 bhp. It's a much quicker and cheaper process and you are not throwing out otherwise perfectly good blocks all the time. Cheers Gary
  21. So what you are saying is you like the TRANSITION from lack of power to lots of power? Not the lots of power ITSELF? Then an even bigger turbo would be better, even LESS power then a much more potent transition to even MORE power. That would feel better to you? Personally I prefer progressive power as I find the sharp transition makes the car very hard to drive fast. So the 2530's would be my choice, as they have been for many years. Each to his own. Cheers Gary
  22. Nope. There is nothing special about Nismo radius rods anyway, they just have slightly firmer rubber bushes. Cheers Gary
  23. Simple; 1. If the bush is not too bad then a Rear Subframe Alignment Kit ($105) will protect it from further damage. 2. Caster Kit ($110) is the go, adjusting for more caster on the LHS than the RHS will stop the drift to the gutter. 3. Sorry can't help you with that one, just get it fixed soon as the crap getting in wears out the CV's. 4. Swaybars ($229 each) , easily the best value handling improvement you can make. 5. HICAS removal is easy, you only need a professional to do the wheel alignment when its done. Check out the FAQ. 6. For stock height leave the standard springs with the GB Bilsteins, that way you can lower it a bit using the circlip grooves later on. Cheers Gary
