Here is some other things people have heard, or know:

Sounds like bs to me. BP has 95ron fuel as well don't they?
-
nice. I'm just guessing but I'd say around $2k for a good one like that. But I've never bought one nor ever thought about buying one so it is just a guess.

Just about every caltex in my area

Prices for them vary. However from what I've heard the guy that put the carbon fibre bonnet on the car wasn't really worried about money. So it would have been to the upper end of the scale.
-
werd. If insurance is ridiculously expensive you may be better off just backing yourself as a good driver. Though accidents do happen, so obviously there is some risk involved. If you were to put the money you were going to spend on paying insurance into a savings account you could have a nice amount of money for mods or to buy a newer car. Also until you spent it you would have the money to fix the car if you did ever crash it.

I only got confused after he said he was 16. I had assumed he was still in primary school.

Those enzos lose their value so quickly.
-
Yeah thats it. How did that happen? Did you see it? Too bad for whoever owns it now. That bonnet would've cost a bit.
-
I kinda lied. One was my car, I just didn't wanna seem like a dodgy mechanic. But I am sure I did everything right. I don't know what went wrong. Happened about 4 months later and bent the valves. Mechanic said he has heard that it is common for them to come off for no reason, but its strange it happened after both had the timing belt removed. In my mates 31 he didn't bother to fix it, just wrecked it. Thats where I got my series 3 front for my car. So he might not have bent valves. That was just an assumption.
-
Be careful putting the timing belt back on. Make sure you put the tensioner back on properly. It may have been just a bizarre coincidence, but two people I know changed their water pump on rb30s. They were sure they did everything right but a few months later the tensioner for the timing belt popped off. Ended up with bent valves etc. Just a word of warning.

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting medical studies. FACTS 1. Japanese eat very little fat, and suffer fewer heart attacks than the Aussies, British or Americans. 2. Mexicans eat a lot of fat, and suffer fewer heart attacks than the Aussies, British or Americans. 3. Africans drink very little red wine, and suffer fewer heart attacks than the Aussies, British or Americans. 4. Italians drink large amounts of red wine, and suffer fewer heart attacks than the Aussies, British or Americans. 5. Germans drink a lot of beer and eat lots of sausages and fats, and suffer fewer heart attacks than the Aussies, British or Americans. CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Those unlimited speed roads do not mean you can do whatever speed you like. If you were doing 180kph in a rav4 the cops would do you for dangerous driving.
-
Firstly I'll just say this was thrown in to balance the argument out. You say - "4wd drivers do this, and its much more dangerous because they are in a 4wd." The guy in the r34 gtr went around 180 possibly 200 on a surburban road. A 50kph zone. From where he started I'm sure it would be impossible to get anywhere near this speed in almost any 4wd. (Obviously this excludes Porsche Cayenne turbo or BMW x5) That doesn't mean you can't get up to dangerous speeds in 4wds, its just a lot easier to do it in a sports car. This is the same argument as your tailgating etc in a 4wd. Also, 4wds are made to handle bumps. Stiff lowered sports suspension is not. This is a huge bump. The guy hit the bump, got airborne, lost control and hit a power pole. I would almost guarantee he wouldn't have done this if he ws in a 4wd.
-
Josh, there was a guy my age slammed his dads r34 into a power pole near my house not too long ago. You probably heard about it. He was probably doing about 180kph and hit a bump in the road and lost control. If he was in a 4wd he wouldn't have been able to get up to anywhere near that speed, and his car wouldn't have lost control when it hit the bump. I understand the visibility issues, but if people need space they generally buy a 4wd. If they can't do that they will buy a people mover. So getting rid of 4wds probably won't help much. Also, don't 4wds still have lower tax than cars? If so bringing the tax up on par with cars would be a small deterrent to people wanting to buy 4wds when they never go off road.

Doctor Dave had slept with one of his patients & felt guilty all day long. No matter how much he tried to forget about it, he couldn't. The guilt & sense of betrayal was overwhelming. But every once in a while he'd hear an internal, reassuring voice in his head that said: "Dave, don't worry about it. You aren't the first medical practitioner to sleep with one of their patients, you won't be the last, & you are single. Just let it go.." But invariably another voice in his head would bring him back to reality, Whispering ...... "Dave ........ .............you're a vet."

Redline Waterwetter And Fuel Additives
Patto- replied to nuffsaid's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I have used different injector cleaners. Some work, some make no noticeable difference. Unfortunately I can't remember which brands work the best. But obviously none will do anything near what a proper injector clean will do. If your car is a fair few years old and never had an injector serivce it could be the best money you ever spent. -
It's too bad you got the SOHC version. I beleive the twin cam is a quite a bit quicker.

Yes well everything I have ever read about rotors says they are great motors although unreliable. This has been proven by friends of mine who have owned them, taken great care with them, and they still have regular problems. Also would've thought myself that putting a rotor in would be cheap. You would think it would be a breeze considering how small they are. But, once again everything I've heard says otherwise. Although I remember reading somewhere of a conversion into an ae86. I'll try and find the article. I have also noticed rotors tend to make a lot of noise. Even an NA with a mild port and exhaust is fairly loud when compared to an NA rb with exhaust. Once again base on expeirnce of friends rotors. Unfortunately I have never owned a rotor myself, as I have been put off by my friends experiences. Although in all fairness one of my mates had a bridgeport 13b, which as you would imagine was as loud as hell and as such got heaps of attention from police. So perhaps my opinion on rotors is a little biased against them.
-
I think putting any rotor in really goes beyond a cheap car. Especially if it is for daily use, rotors are not very reliable. Also a rotor isn't exactly stealthy, especially when worked. r31 with any turbo rb engine would be my choice.

I haven't been pulled over yet. But I was in a mates car the other day when he got pulled over. He drives a stock vp commodore. The cop reckoned he went round a corner too fast, when he was doing like 55 through a corner I regulary take at about 70. He was going pretty slow and there was almost no body roll in vp with stock suspension. There was no way he was speeding. I think the cop must've been bored and had nothing better to do then show off how much power he has. He strutted around the car like he was king dick and eventually gave my mate a fine for bald tyres. I'd have to say the cop couldn't have been much older than us (22). I suppose he could've defected him for the tyres, as he has done a few burnouts lately, but only gave a fine. But the point remains he was pulled over for no reason at all. The cop saying he went around the corner to fast was a very weak excuse. And it wasn't as if he drives a car that you'd expect to be targeted either.

That sums up my opinion exactly. Though they are overpriced as well.

I don't think it is a sileighty. I thought it was just by looking at the thumb pic but when you expand it, it looks like a silvia. But yeah, it is nice.
