Hi guys, My rally plans were changed on Friday afternoon when the master cylinder on the clutch went at Southgate shopping centre. Lots of V8 drivers smiled/laughed as my beloved GTR was towed away. Anyway still made it to the rally in a mates car, saw Andrew's S15 in the car park and a few skylines but didn't see you guys at the track. Tried to call Ash but had no mobile coverage. Hung around to 4:30. Was freezing all day and got sunburnt... at least the fires were toasty. Great day topped off by going to the drifting yesterday where I saw heaps of skylines in the carpark (and two on the track).

Can you pm me the details Oosh. I live down south and it takes me an hour to get to the regular meeting place so 8am will test me... but I love rally

Can it be adjusted to anther setting, say 180kmph, so I... um... wouldn't... er... hear it?

Hi All, I've been using my R32 GTR as a daily driver for the last few weeks as someone threw a rock through my Peugeot window (bastards), anyway... I've noticed when the car is on low boost (10psi) around 100-110kmph I get this little chime noise. What is it? Does the car have a speed alert I'm not aware of? Or has it something to do with the GReddy turbo timer?

Best Enterprizes do charge you to take gear off to get through Regency. All the stuff off my grey GTR amounted to over $600. It also cost that amount again to get everything refitted (but not by Best Ent). They take the car through Regency and charge an hours labour $66, but this would be included in your original quote from them.

Hi all South Aussies, The constant delay of getting my white GTR ready for sale is p1$$ing me orf. I need to borrow R32 GTR suspension (front and rear) as the Bilstein suspension it has is too low to get through Regency. I also need a drivers seat as the Recaro race seat won't get passed either. I would be super-grateful to anyone who can help me out. Cheers.

I had all three of my cars complied by Joanne, Neil, Craig and the rest of the crew at Best Enterprises. I'd recommend them. Heaps of contact, reasonable prices, professional job. Need I say more.

New Brake Advice for R32 GTR
writeoff replied to writeoff's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Leon from www.musecret.com.au responded that the SCR PRO two-piece rotors for the R32 GTR are $1050 + $70 shipping. I'm getting confirmation on the size. Has anyone used these and able to provide some feedback? -

Thanks again Beer Baron. I've checked out www.musecret.com.au and sent an email to Andrew regarding the SCR PRO two piece rotors you mentioned. This is what I'm after... CHOICE! I like to consider all options. I have no personal experience using DBA, I've read reports (mostly +ve, some -ve), and seen images. -
How much have you spent on your GTR

Oh... What are the rest of the rules of GTR ownership so I don't break these as well? -
New Brake Advice for R32 GTR

Thanks Beer Baron. I have already sent an email to Unique Autosports. Their website claim to have: STAGE 1 BRAKE UPGRADE KIT FOR SKYLINE R32 GTR KIT INCLUDES 324MM R33 GTR DBA 4000 SERIES BRAKE ROTORS, CALIPER ADAPTERS, CAP BOLTS AND SHNOOR WASHERS COMPLETE KIT PRICE: $795.00 FRONT ONLY, and STAGE 2 BRAKE UPGRADE KIT FOR SKYLINE R32 GTR BOLT ON KIT INCLUDING 330MM SLOTTED & VENTED DISC ROTORS. STANDARD ROTORS ARE 296MM. KIT ALSO INCLUDES ADAPTERS AND HIGH TENSILE CAP BOLTS TO SUIT FACTORY CALIPERS PRICE: $995.00 My email enquiry was regarding the stage 2 kit- front only?, what brand?, do SAU members get discount? John responded: DBA4000 rotors or optional extra alloy hat DBA5000 rotors both heat treated and slotted. 10% discount SAU Again I'm only getting DBA as an option. -

New Brake Advice for R32 GTR

Thanks for your responses. I should have added some info... I currently use Bendix Ultimate pads and recently had the rotors machined and the callipers sercived (about 1100kms ago). The brake fluid was replaced at the same time. I need to replace the front rotors on my white GTR, but figured I'd just swap the rotors from my grey GTR and replace these with larger discs (to fit under the 18" rims). I was intending to continue with the standard callipers, if possible, and only upgrade the rotors. Every place I go to seems to only sell DBA. I've seen RBA, and Profex (I think) but these were cheaper options to the DBA. Surely there are brands of rotors out there other than DBA for R32 GTR around 330mm for $1500. -
Hi All, I'm about to upgrade the front brakes on my R32 GTR and was seeking some advice. I have done a search and read through various other threads on this forum. My car has 18" BBS rims on it and currently runs stock rotors & calipers. It does have braided brake hoses and I use good brake fluid. I'm looking to spend about $1500 including pads. The car is used mainly on the street with occasional track days. Everywhere I look seems to offer DBA, which I don't really want (I'm unconvinced by them). I would love Porsche GT3, Brembo, AP, or Harrop but all are out of my price range. Any suggestions? I have looked at Unique Autosports, Racebrakes, DBA, and all the sponsers sites listed on this forum. All only offer DBA below $3000 except the yahoo japan site but I can't read Japanese so it means very little to me.

I had the control unit for the GReddy PROFEC B boost controller stolen from my white GTR. I'm trying to find one now to replace it with. Any suggestions?

I've got a FIELD torque controller on my grey GTR. It has two dials that you can (supposedly) adjust between front, rear, and 4wd. I had to get the module removed to get through compliance and haven't found an auto-electrician who knows how to reconnect it and get it running properly. I think HKS make a similar product.

The F50 brakes come with brake pads, the other set do not. Remember that when calculating cost difference (they still work out cheaper).

I've seen a stripped out VW Golf GTI Mk I with two engines run an 11.something for the 1/4 mile. But a Mini running 10s... I seriously doubt it. A 150fwkW car will struggle to launch hard enough to get into 10s, there is not enough traction as the weight shifts to the rear of the car at takeoff. I know og a guy with a 150+fwkW Satria GTI (he claimed it went to 200fwkW but I never saw that dyno sheet) and the thing would never launch properly due to the weight transfer.
-
I call mine ZIPPO as it lights up so often (still in rwd, no ABS, no ATTESSA, doubtful on the HICAS). Wet roads + 233kW @ 15 psi + rwd + moderate pressure on the loud pedal = sideways action (usually to the drivers side).

What surprised me about this episode was that it was a myth. I watched this with a mate and we both assumed it was common knowledge that running a car with the a/c on would use more fuel than just having the windows down. That trebuchet was funny as... poor buster!
