  2. Thanks SK. I read that thread last night and was wondering if it was still available. I seems to be a complete set up, at this stage I know only the front passenger side strut is stuffed, not sure what condition the rears are in or any of the other components. I'll call AVS Suspension today and get more info. My problem is that I've forked out $5k this week on tickets to the World Cup, airfares & accommodation, so I'm a little short on funds until I get paid next month. My car runs on 18" BBS rims. Would that make any difference to the kit you've designed?
  3. Cheers. Now I just have have to choose which coilovers to fit. Not sure what brand it had on before - the mechanic wasn't able to see a label - but the ride was rock hard although it handled brilliantly.
  4. I think I may as well address this as "Dear Sydney Kid..." After finally getting new front rotors and pads on the R32 GTR I went on a cruise that night (after bedding them in) only to have the front left strut seize and spew its oil everywhere. Now I need a new - what? A question that may seem obvious and emphasis my lack of mechanical knowledge but... What's the difference between struts, coilovers and shock absorbers?
  5. I just rocked up at Regency with no appointment. They generally have about 2-3 no shows a day. I had to sit around and wait for 3 hours though. The first appointment I could have had was 3-4 weeks away when I called them. After waiting for 3 hours they were going to book me in the following week and were in the process of doing so when the guy came and called me through. He even passed me.
  6. I'm keen for a southern cruise. Dates won't effect me yet.
  7. Thanks for waiting around for me guys. Sorry I had to bail out and limp home. I saw a white R33 with blue racing stripes in Gawler and a R31 and R32 GTS-T in the Gawler Macca's arpark on the way home.
  8. Did the meet point get changed? I only received one pm this morning.
  9. I'd be keen. Will have new brakes on the GTR so need to break them in. A hills cruise sounds like the perfect way to test them. Should pick up the car tomorrow. PM me with details. If anyone else down south wants to meet up first let me know.
  10. After ringing around a few companies Shannons was the only one that would insure my GTR and my Bentley. I'm about to add the Peugeot to the policy once its cover finishes with its current policy provider. Their premiums seem reasonable for the agreed value on the cars.
  11. The legal noise limit for a six cylinder engine is <90 db at 3200 rpm. Using steel wool will work but make sure it doesn't come out when getting tested (guy from Regency told me this had happened). I used a baffle plate to get through. It can be a lot of work trying to source a stock exhaust system.
  12. Yes. Sorry, typo. Thanks for pointing that out. Post has been edit.
  13. My grey GTR goes in for a service and new front brakes tomorrow but I can take out the white one for a cruise. I've been staying up to 4-5am whilst on holidays so a late night cruise would be great.
  14. Happy New Bump!
  15. Welcome to the GTR club. Can you put up photos of the entire car and from different angles.
  16. Nice shot. How was the landing?
  17. Ivan - get your GTR dyno tuned. You should get it done at least every 12 months. You'd be surprised at how much power you can drop, and it can prevent other problems from arising. PS - If your boss wants a GTR I have one for sale, and a Bentley Eight he can add to his collection. Did you get to drive the Merc afterwards?
  18. Merry Bumpmas!
  19. I had patience. I've had the same car for 9 years (my Peugeot 205 GTI). Everytime you change cars you lose money through depreciation and stamp duty. Don't spend money on crap like ciggys. Buy alcohol from bottle shops and not at the pub. Cook your meals rather than buy everyday. Shop at supermarkets rather than servos. Don't get fines. Saved my money and bought two GTRs and a Bentley in the same year. Although I'm over 30 now. Coincidently I've just moved into IT so now can I expect real money?
  20. Great thread Adrian. I look forward to reading the rights and obligations of SA motorists.
  21. I doubt the Saleen would have the handling or braking package that the Bugatti has. Could the Saleen box handle the grunt? The tyres? Bugatti has looked at these issues and had the dollars to support the R&D. Naturally time (and customers) will tell if they got it right. I think the Bugatti would have more visual impact driving around than the Saleen whose shape has been around for years. I'd choose the Bugatti.
  22. Had enquiries regarding VIN. Full VIN is 6U9000 BNR32 003129.
  23. This is the link r33skyliner was refering to: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Skyline-GTR-...3QQcmdZViewItem It's the same photo. No NISMO Lanyard. And is $2 dearer when including postage, a markup of 11%. Do you own/work for monsta-imports Dan? If so why are you passing yourself of as a regular punter looking out for fellow skyline enthusiasts? Why the extra markup?
  24. Hi djrice, A few questions? How many kms have the calipers/rotors/pads travelled? How many track days? What is the thickness of the rotors? What are the brand of the pads? Are you able to post some photos? Cheers
