  1. ...and are arguing that they should be allowed to run a 6.3L V8 instead of a 2.4 on the grounds that they've got a disadvantage in only having 2V/cyl OHV heads

  6. so, without changing anything else apart from the peak manifold pressure, how would the turbos come on boost quicker? how is your engine comparable to his unless we know the full details of each engines specs and everything related to power production that's bolted to it? the low-mid rpm flow characteristics of the compressor/turbine wheels hasn't changed. if the wastegates stay shut right up until the desired boost setting is approached, the transient response time will be the same regardless of if you're running 1.2 or 1.7 bar
  7. it still wouldn't lock the wheels anyway!

  15. How many laps of the simulated track though? And isn't it just Sauber-Ferrari?
  16. No more calling Ferrari 'Team Jihad' then, now that they're running Santander as main sponsor
  17. Williams gets the tardy-slip this year
  18. I was thinking the same when I saw it. If it wasn't for the dabs of red front and rear, it'd do a good imitation. Renault's all over the show with their colour-schemes in recent years. They seem to want revolution rather than gradual evolution. Looking at all the different nose-cone shots above, the MP4-25 has an insane amount of different aerofoil elements and twists'n'turns going on in theirs compared to the others. The computer that did the CFD modeling must still be smouldering,
  19. it's really only the length of the primary pipes and the way they combine down that determines the cylinder-scavenging effect on NA engines. the system that would give the most power would be if the tuned-length extractors just exited out from the side near the front of the car. lowest back-pressure possible is the best scenario (it's just a pumping loss for the engine after all). i do realise that having to have a full ADR-legal exhaust system does present some issues regarding noise, cost, available space/ground clearance and to a lesser extent weight
  20. i like it, a lot car with an exhaust setup that smooth is bound be a lock for the WCC
  21. cannot concur, sir it's pretty boring colour and shape wise
  22. dropped a massive burnout and still hasn't been able to find his way out of the tyre smoke?
  23. I've had a good look over that car; the build quality is awesome, the extensive use of carbon-fibre and CNC machined alloy bits, and the attention to detail is very nice... but there's still no way I'd pay 1.8 million for one
