You Guys Might Have Some Competition Soon!

legnum>stagea IMO. They just look so sleek, the stageas are a bit to volvoish for my taste. Unless you're talkin 260RS which owns all wagons -
Ve Commodore Secrets Revealed
Konrad replied to monaroCountry's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I tend to think of XR6T/ HSV /monaro etc... as modern day muscle cars, not a sports car. They're big, heavy, and have large displacement motors putting out loads of torque and are great in the straight line. As for the basic model falcodores, well it sounds cliche but they're cars for australia. Australia has long distances, crap roads, and the people are tall with fat guts and arses. Compare this to the japs where its the opposite IMO so they build their cars to suit the different population and conditons. I have a r33 coupe that i drive all over qld for work (sometimes driving up to 800km or so each way) which is far from comfortable to drive(although they do have a good amount of room inside of them compared to say an s13, mr2, rx7, etc..), and given the choice i'd rather a fat aussie car for the reasons just listed, they're comfy, roomy, have way better a/c than a skyline, more forgiving suspension, and are alot safer to drive (airbags, abs etc..) heck they're probably more economical too! Being an import I constantly live in fear of if my car broke down somewhere i could be stranded for ages before they could get parts and fix it. But I keep the skyline because it is a sports car and i enjoy the benefits it gives, but i cant afford a second car so its has to be my daily driver aswell, so i put up with the negatives. Anyway back on topic I dont mind it, tho i think the statesman looks kinda plain for its supposed 'flagship' status. Needs more chrome or something. Be interesting to see what the real deal looks like. -
I found a good cheap boost controller for $22!!!
Konrad replied to CEF11E's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've got one of marks controllers and couldn't be happier, and in december at least he was answering his emails (usually within a day or so). The first one he sent out never arrived so he sent a second one that turned up the next day, meanwhile at the same time the first one was returned to sender back to him. So i never had any problems really. But yeah, if he's not keeping in touch with customers then i guess you've got no option : -
I changed to the BCPR6ES (i had BCPR7ES in there before) and noticed really no difference. I've been told by my workshop that my no.6 coil was on the way out but when i changed the plugs they all had an even amount of colour (not white, not black were orangey brown i think from octane booster or additives in BP ultimate??). The coils themselves all seemed fine on inspection (no corrosion etc..). I gave them a liberal coating of silicone spray, and sanded the graphite (i think) plug contacts on each coil. I had a random miss at idle aswell (has always been there), i'm wondering if it could be something other than the coilpacks themselves? could it be the ignitor or something?? Oh and the miss seems to be more heat related, when the car is cold it runs perfect, but the more you drive it the stronger the miss becomes, i know that the coils do fail with heat, so the miss would be more apparent at idle for 2 reasons; Main one: car is at lower revs, thus theres a bigger time period between when cylinders fire, so if a cylinder misses you will feel it more than higher revs where the next cylinder in the firing order will kick in much sooner (if that makes sense) Another idea (maybe?): At idle there is nowhere for the heat from the motor to go, so it builds up causing the coil to fail, whereas when your belting down the freeway it has a nice cool breeze running over the top of the motor, i imagine there would be quite a few degrees difference in temps between idle and say 80kph in the coil area?? (especially if you've removed the coil cover)

PM sent.. -
Not really, its water + diesel so quite slippery (unless you put the boot in when you spin like most of us did lol) And i wouldn't think it'd wear the clutch out since i was in second for 95% of the time, BUT my clutch actually is slipping more after the event, pretty sure its just a coincidence, its just finally given up.

Thats not a bad price for a power run. Mercury motorsport are ok to deal with and they are a forums sponsor. They're over in newmarket road. I've heard milaco is good but sorry no idea where they are. Its hard to find a good workshop cos people have different experiences, for every person that says a place is great theres one that says they'll never go back. EDIT: mercury are a sau qld CLUB sponsor, not the forums

prob better to pm blitz about it dave, hes a mod i think...
-
lol, like the tyre in my av
-
hey alex, welcome i'll let someone else explain the RB20E thing but basically its got to do with the amount of posts you've made on the forums
-
lol.. i can just see a massive VW logo on the front of your car dave
-
hey i didn't see that one do you have it in colour aswell.. Although from the angle i'd say it was right before i was about to spin, i think that corner got me almost every time.
-
I am sorry about the tyre lol, glad noone got hurt. Maybe from that incdent we can argue to have them removed next time?? (even before i started i asked the guy why they were there in the first place) Did i almost hit jason aswell?? He did say something about how i flicked some dirt at him or something?? was he on that hill aswell?? Nah damage is nothing dramatic, just got a quote to fix it but.... $1500 (but thats to get the whole car straight, and I already had damage to the car from the trip up to townsville i just come back from last week) its prob gunna work out cheaper to get a new skirt and front bar than fix the ones i have. Guess i could still patch the fibreglass up myself since i got next week off work... hmm... Wouldn't mind some big size photos of some of the ones in your gallery, i'll PM you the links. Cant wait for the video, top work mate
-
Yeah sorry about that, i got a bit worried when i saw a shooter up on a grassy noll, then thought what would chuck norris do?? I still blame ben, somehow it has to be his fault lol

Brand New R33 Gts-t Frp Vented Guards
Konrad replied to "EN4CER"'s topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
i thought s1 and s2 guards were the same?? from the pic i take it they have been on your car?? how well do they fit? (are they literally bolt on or is there some tweaking involved) EDIT- i see they are brand new, forget what i said -
those with trolley jacks what part of the car do you use?? my sideskirts are too wide so i cant use it on the side (behind the front wheel arch) without using the standard jack to raise the height a few cm. The only way i found that works is to use the trolley jack square on in the middle of the car and jack it up using the lower radiator support, not sure if that point is designed to hold the whole weight of the front of the car tho..

cool, i'll give them a call 2morro

hmm ok thanks for that dont suppose you know if they'd only sell me one ?? (imagine they wouldnt)
