  1. i doubt it would tekin i would be surprised if it would most controllers are purely interested in build a good ramp for boost build and keeping it stable im not even sure it would see the bouncing pressure go for a drive and replicate it, let us know does boost pressure bounce? i bet it doesnt
  2. from my knowlege it occurs when the engine is on load and throttle is half backed off so to me it sounds like the bov's are half opening so pressure is vented back into the front of the compressors and some how causes it to either surge or vary excessively which gives the compressor flutter / chop chop noise confused how tuning would fix it, even though it does
  3. ETC DATA INIT choose YES press NEXT power car off power car on preform self idle the PFC FAQ in my sig covers diagnostics if car doesnt start and how to do self learn idle
  4. oil in the catch can is usually from the crankcase ventilation or leaking from the intake the usual culprit is the oil seal on the turbocharger, they can die / perish a catch can simply catches it and does nothing more its more like a fail safe / press F8 to go into safe mode kinda device empty it out check your intercooler piping for oil marks and clean them away drive around for 2 days and check all again if you have more oil back and piping is oily (as in substantional) then it could be shagged oil seal on the turbo
  5. there is no such thing as wastegate flutter remove the phrase, it does NOT exist, there is no such thing im curious how the tuning can correct this
  6. you could find a PFC for 2200 easily heck ill sell you mine for that much and ill work on mashing the rb26 PFC onto the r33
  7. a big thanks to those who helped fix my boot lock, much appreciated as it was pretty facked
  8. i dont believe bearing type has anything to do with pressure it would dictate turbocharger response but shouldnt change final psi outcome
  9. All of my pictures are up: http://paulr33.skylinesaustralia.com/photo...-grandprix2007/ If you find a specific photo that you would like in HIRES format (3200x2400) then send me a pm with the full name of the image. The photos are split up day by day and a single for all photos to help going through them as there is quiet a lot of them. I haven't gone through and edited them as it would take ages and they wouldn't be up for a long time, so this is much quicker.
  10. All of my pics should be up within the hour
  11. have a look on my site, covers wiring diagram needs aftermarket ecu or safc to work its not needed for less than 250rwkw
  12. the rev limit is a soft cut, so it is possible to bounce past it it could be disabled, remapped to a higher value or the tacho could be incorrect does your car have the factory 180km speed cut? thats often a good sign of a remapped ecu any stickers on the ecu case?
  13. ive got an ebay chinese crappy one u can have for $20 it should be the right setting
  14. days have been updated progressively throughout the week
  15. we dont know where you live so we cant suggest a place if you have the stock ecu there is nothing to tune all you can do is check the base timing is correct and its making resonable power
  16. there's an extra "gotcha" when using some versions of the xf throttle body do a search. the tps sensor voltage is backwards as the butterfly opens backwards (its in the pfc faq in my sig too)
  17. powerfc fmic 3" turbo back split dump exhaust fuel pump tomei poncams heavy duty clutch nismo 550cc injectors z32 afm hks gt-rs turbo 265 good tyres suspension work oil cooler
  18. how would a pfc be a dud? I agree would rather buy a PFC for much cheaper and use the money for other stuff
  19. run a stock ecu diag, that will help a big deal get a consult cable (or borrow one) its probably something obvious check afm connectors, check water temp sensor check you have spark (listen with screwdriver on plenum area) check you have fuel (can hear pump, run and prime) check you have 12v power and relays are ok (no smoke, no ticking) check all fuses (next to steering wheel, in engine bay and in boot) the big fuses and relays are in the boot (well in the r33 they are)
  20. ill see what i can do
  21. also just some other notes in regards to cheap ebay turbos / cheap seller turbo's more often that not there are some key differences - wierd flanges or dump patterns (kkr, monsta t70 etc i dont think mate at all to standard parts and need their own bits) - plain bearing, journal bearing (majority of the cheapies aren't ball bearing) - oil cooled only (usually the cheapies are oil cooled only) - lack of compressor map / details available (usually monsta STAGE 3 hiflow super wheel blah blah type jargon, no real reference to compressor trim, blade type) but they are exactly that, a cheap alternative. im not saying the dont work but there are extra things you should be aware of and need to know if using them. some need extensive modificaitons, some dont need much at all. some require extensive knowledge for fitmet (oil line changes to remove BB restrictor) and some have extra "gotcha's" when using them over the standard turbo (non BB unit and instant car off risks bearing failure) so sure its a $650 turbo thats capable of 550hp but look at the overall plan and solution and see what you are really getting. with an off the shelf garrett unit you can ring gcg in sydney, discuss flange/dump options, manifolds, you can ask for compressor maps (no guess work) and work out the optimum solution, but that also comes at a price. a price for reliability, knowledge, customer support (compressor maps, blade options, housing options etc) and help
  22. yeah its interchangeable, i fitted my gtst one to a gtr33 one
  23. Day 5 - Sunday The day was very hot and sunny. Lots of cool action throughout the day. We had F1 jets, helicopters, a big QANTAS jet fang over and some other trickery. The race was fast and very loud and first place was taken by Kimi Raikkonen. We have taken stacks more photos and just over 700 for the whole week. Too many funny moments and enjoyable experiences to list them all. Thanks to all those who helped out and had a good time. Full res pictures from every day are going up now. I have full res pics on my pc at home in 3500x2300 if anyone needs a high res copy pm me which picture you would like.
  24. Day 4 - Saturday The day was off to absolute crapola of day. It began bucketing down in brighton and then stopped about a minute later. Go figure!! Prefect weather for the rest of the day which was ace, not a could in sight. Quiet a lot of us got mega sunburt. The day was fast and loud as we had Qualifying for the F1 GP at full pace. Various events supplying great entertrainment for the club during the day including raving to a WRX stereo system, unicycle riding, more drinks, a fun tram ride and silly people. Lots more photos of the various events and antics during the day, which is always good. The day ended up around 5pm and we headed to the casino for some dinner and drinks. The tram ride was an absolute pisser and well worth it. Drinks after dinner was pretty agressive and the guys headed to the oxford for drinks and those drinks. Plently of yegabombs along the ride Dayle's R32 won "Autosalon Magazine Editors Choice" and Ron's R32 won "Autosalon Smooth As Silk Paint". Well done guys, well deserved.
