  1. mine capped at 193rwkw on 0.85kgcm2 boost any more boost and for the 5rwkw you gain you probably put the engine and turbo at a much higher risk just for 5rwkw braging rights ability
  2. garrett make turbochargers for HKS and HKS have a special exclusive offer contract from garrett this means HKS can make up a spec with whatever they like and get garrett to build and garrett are not allowed to sell it so you can't buy a GT-RS exactly the same from garrett, as HKS have exclusive rights on the wheels, trims, specs, etc you can get very close, but not the exact same turbocharger from garrett or a garrett reseller so you cant buy a garrett GT-RS or 2530 or 2540 or 3037s
  3. yeah it can be done, but expensive and lots of custom fabrication you also have choice of what goes first, turbo or super into the intake i think stockymystock has a rb30 twin charged, turbo and super from memory from memory on his he had the super going into the intake after the turbo so when on take off the supercharger would suck through the turbo winding it up quicker intake -> turbo -> super -> plenum - i think stockymystock had this (macgyver is his user icon on here) or intake -> super -> turbo -> plenum
  4. never heard or seen of the software and it might even need some special cable its probably worth about $10 unfortunately
  5. oops http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/09...ml#entry5531590
  6. check the plugs into the loom and ensure each is securely connected. when the coilpacks die they usually break down on boost and under load. ie when mine died it didnt misfire at idle and drove prefectly fine. it was only when you loaded it up and brought it on boost it would misfire city
  7. metamorphsis complete sir, spaceball-1 is now known as, megamaid
  8. In electronics, fall time (pulse decay time) \scriptstyle t_f\, is the time required for the amplitude of a pulse to decrease (fall) from a specified value (usually 90 percent of the peak value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot) to another specified value (usually 10 percent of the minimum value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot). Limits on undershoot and oscillation (aka, ringing or hunting) may need to be specified when specifying fall time limits.
  9. whats the matter kernel sanders? chicken?
  10. it looks like an auto tune and the auto logic is trying to predict gear changes on the auto box ie cut timing and dump it on the floor during gear are you sure its a manual ECU that you have ?
  11. 97 with 230k and std turbo still
  12. agree with R31 power, if its a home made manifold, dags and loose bits of weld etc might be dislodging at high EGT's and taking out the exhaust wheels certainly likely
  13. midnight purple II i think it is on that BNR34 from the macedon cruise with the extra black lip and black TE37s is pure porn nice work whoever owns that car, im sure its worth a few $
  14. dont meant to be rude, but it controls decay
  15. agree on getting someone else to look at it especially given you are playing with E85 as well
  16. is there any more data in the logs? other sensors etc? like datalogit logs, heaps easier to read and more useful i can see where it runs fine then all the timing drops to the floor, which i suspect is what you call running it like crap when cold only thing i can think of is its running on an area on the map thats poorly tuned or has tons of correction does nsitune let you do a map tracer like in the powerfc? try that and see what cells is referencing from?
  17. yeah the GTRS is really the premium turbo option for that power range. no issues with unknown gotchas, mixed up mangled hiflows and poor rebuilds etc as the GTRS is brand new if you can find a GCG highflow for 1k you are laughing and you would get this no doubt. a GCG brand new is 2k from memory so depending on budget, some may prefer GTRS and sell their old turbo instead. the GTRS will also sound different when spooling up vs normal turbo or GCG hiflow i reckon the SMIC would cap out at a max of 180rwkw any more than that and you basically just increase the intake temp for no gains ie the more boost you dial in and harder you push it, the more hotter the intake temp is which results in less power anyway the core size and its location hamper anything
  18. if money is unlimited HKS GT-RS if you want more top end and a bit more lag, VG30 rear if you want flat out response and good range of power GTS25T rear but you mentioned R34 SMIC this will kill any turbocharger you choose heat soak city
  19. i did a GTR pump in my r33 and its basically silent if mounted properly you can hear an ever so slightly pump whirr when you tap the throttle but thats it certainly you wouldnt be able to hear it outside the car id say its hitting metal or something when you mounted it, did you slide it back into the same spot, using the ceiling slide mount thingy?
  20. all good here and no issues or errors the dot sensors are actually relays, and the black dot means it is on (ie switched relay) and hollow dot means the relay is off so in your example we can see IGN is on - yep the engine is ON the sensor names have voltages next to them, when they go out of range or dead the sensor name becomes highlighted in black background
  21. any of those would be ok for 300
  22. RPM = (SPEED / 28) * 1000
  23. all of those are suitable and a on mild GTT they are fine you will incur some extra throttle lag no matter what core you fit - its physics go the blitz one given its price as it saves cutting the chassis to fit extra pipes
  24. yellow evo 7 out near EFFING / sommerton, i think it was nick was about to catch up and give a wave but you turned off not sure if it was nick or not, looks about the same as your pic on stalkbook
