  1. might be interested...can there be spectators?
  2. which means, buy one 2ndhand
  3. depends on how much...if it's a small amount you could almost try to run it out of the system by constantly diluting with 98ron...it'll probably blow black smoke until it clears out, probably have to baby it. If it's a lot you're best to siphon it out I think rather than take the risk. edit: when I say 'small amount' i mean TINY.
  4. really? Because I just laughed
  5. With the new in car camera systems I recommend you make sure your P plates are up, especially if the car is registered in your name because it will come up on the system that the owner is a P plater and you'll be instantly pulled over. As for the pulling over exercise, yep it happens, the stereotype of the car. Just remember that it happens to any sort of 'modified' car especially your falcodores too. My brother and brother-in-law are cops and the bro in law is a car nut. He admits to pulling over drivers for no reason than to check out the ride and see what's under the bonnet. He laughs at people that pretend their car is stock when he's read all about it in Street Machine or HOT4's. Being the owner of V8's and 400hp cossie's he knows a thing or two and just wants to check out some sweet rides. For the record he thinks commodore drivers are the worse drivers on the road (hint: he's a Ford man). So think of it more as a compliment, although a slightly annoying one Also, the police cannot search your vehicle unless they have reasonable suspicion to do so. So if they do ask for it next time ask them what they are relying upon as suspicion and if they can't tell you you can say no (which may lead to a bit of verbal biffo) or you can say yes, on the basis that you are consenting to a search without a reasonable cause and just highlight that you think it's not warranted but you'll allow it to be gracious
  6. just off topic if you have left it in the control of the yard then in theory they act as bailee's and have to secure your car. Also, I'm with Shannons and they didn't require the car to be registered or even roadworthy for it to be insured...just something to be aware of in case you do find her
  7. Sounds like a bit of fun, but not sure about the car selection for the purpose you require. Being all coupes is going to be hard for people to fit in the back seat, especially the girls with ball gowns. I have an R34 GTR that may be available (too far into the future to work out at this stage) but perhaps suggest more 'reasonable' transport like R34/V35 sedans?
  8. So anyway...time for P platers to invest in S15 Autech's and Elise's The problem seems to be high powered RWD cars, so the solution is understeer safe FWD or better control 4WD. So P platers should get GTR's
  9. Have you got it mounted properly and the right sensitivity? Meanwhile, i have a beltronics vector 950 (or something like that) just wondering if anyone knows if this is 'obsolete' now and if it is worth upgrading? Still appears to pick up multanova, laser, emergency, etc. OK, but with multanova's it's normally pretty weak.
  10. Don't do it around Mandurah, McIntyre SM is not a fan of bad drivers
  11. What's the muffler on there? Kermit can gimme a quote on an R34 GTR vspec exhaust? Prefer quiet but enough flow for about 450hp atw. Would probably want dump pipes done as well. PM me if you're interested.
  12. 350Z that's been SEMA'd?
  13. mate of mine had a civic sedan that he was ricing up, did intake, exhaust, body kit, rims, and of course neons. Actually looked pretty good, even if it didn't really go much faster than stock each to their own I guess, at the end of the day if you like 'em, put 'em on. Only advice I can give is make sure you get the right colour for your car. Nothing worse than seeing red neons on a blue car and thinking 'is he going for the superman look?'
  14. it was the rocker cover in the end apparently just needed some tightening
  15. Time to bring up an old thread...does anyone know where to get some? The blue decals on my TE37's are slowly dieing...the closest I've found is here: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RAYS-VOLK-TE37-Styl...%3A1|240%3A1318 alternatively anyone know a place that can make stickers to order?
  16. me and a mate are up for it
  17. What about the 6 speed version for the R34? the stock knob is nice but it's starting to wear in places and I want to keep it. You could borrow mine for a mould but it's not in tip top shape anymore.
  18. cheers, i'll see what they suggest how much is such a problem likely to cost?
  19. Took my car over the pits today (R34 GTR Vspec) and the inspector noticed a small oil leak coming from the passenger front side, looks to be dripping from quite far away and in front of the gear box (so it's not from the gearbox). It's slowly accumulating on the black bottom sway bar. Any idea what it could be? Is there a common leakage point around there? I'm taking the car in for a service next week and I want to advise them to check it out but at the same time I don't want to be ripped if they suggest changing 100 parts. cheers! edit: on that note, any handy R34 GTR servicing places in Perth recommended by anyone?
  20. I think it is standard on R34 GTR vspec? Maybe they got their wires crossed.
  21. so the autowatch is still the one to go for? I will have to give westside a call. Cheers
  22. Time to revive an old thread... since it's been a year just wondering if anyone has any info on any installers (prefer NoR but prepared to travel south if there's a good one) in metro Perth that'll install alarms on R34 GTR's. At the same time, I might need some new audio gear so any tips on that would be appreciated Also, what do people recommend is now the alarm to get? Is there any tracking type system (quiktrack gone!) still around? I am a complete alarm nub. Cheers!
  23. they can be found if you look hard enough. I know it's hard. *sigh* Sorry to add my 2 cents but the market really has it in for sellers these days.
  24. In that case, I'd pick the MPS6. The 3 is good but it's more of a hot hatch and lacks the space and AWD of the 6. The 6 is also a bargain given the price similarity to the 3. The RX8 is certainly the best looking car of the bunch but unfortunately the least practical and I believe least reliable...also quite heavy on oil and fuel.
  25. the missus wants that auto I must stay strong for the manual... hehe. good luck with the sale. btw...got pics of that crack in the bumper?
