  1. Otherwise known as "Key off key on". buuuuuuuuuuuuurnout.
  2. Actually I'm wondering the same thing (as I haven't had a chance to research, frantically getting the car ready for Dutton). My OS Set has teeth missing on 2nd gear, and the input shaft (2nd gear). Every other gear is perfect. 2nd gear = ~$800? Input shaft = $600 off greenline Considering this box already has all of the OS parts in it, it's obviously got all the series 3 gear in it as well. This being said, will I still need the additional $1300 worth of Nissan parts to rebuild my box? I'll be throwing a new set of synchro's in there while it's out as well. If it's simply $1400 for parts + $700 for labour, I'll be getting it rebuild asap.
  3. Thats what you should see (minus the missing teeth). Other way to tell if the gearbox is still in the car, it should do ~94km/h in 1st gear.
  4. He wants response! T04Z. On song by 4000rpm for the win.
  5. hahahahahaha @ buying an RB26 and worrying about fuel consumption... Trust me, that's going to be the least of your financial worries.
  6. My sincerest apologies. Did SWAT come into your house and disrespect your whole family?
  7. Beat me to it. There are illegals on every 2nd week or so, just depends on who you know
  8. umm no, the oil isn't being pumped from my catch can, if my motor was breathing that much I'd be worried. This is a picture of the line you need to block off if you're doing track work: otherwise the oil in the rocker covers sloshes to that side on hard right hand corners and pumps oil into the turbo inlet.
  9. assuming that breather to the turbo inlet is still connected... Having said that, I vented my catch can to atmo because that turbo inlet pipe was pushing oil into the turbo on hard accel/cornering...
  10. 2 pipes at the top should be connected to your cam covers. pipe at the bottom should drain to your sump. You can leave a pipe off the top, but expect your bay to be covered in fine oil mist very shortly.
  11. Dude, if the WORST happens and your motor lets go, you'll be up for a minimum $6000 rebuild (incl. labour, but mostly stock parts). If you want to make sure that doesn't happen, you're up for a minimum $6000 rebuild (incl. labour, but mostly stock parts). Safe = $6k, Sorry = $6k. There is no point in doing what you're saying. You're better off changing the oil ever 1500kms like most do and hoping it doesn't spin a bearing (good luck!). If you want to be assured your car wont break down in the first few months of ownership, don't buy a GT-R.
  12. The State Tennis Centre now has a cable gate, which (if they aren't lazy) should be in place after 5pm tonight.
  13. For 400rwkw I wouldn't want to be using a reconditioned stock oil pump. Go Jun, another $1000 (greenline.jp) Also, what about Valve Guides? Head Studs? Sump Extension? I personally wouldn't rebuild a 26 and retain the standard valve guides, seen and heard of too many guides dropping and taking a brand new motor with them.
  14. So you want to rebuild it once to suit 7psi and basic power, and then rebuild it again later for 450-500rwhp? You obviously don't know how much the labour/machining/necessary parts costs for a rebuild... it's BIG money.
  15. Actually wrong, the box was removed because I damaged 2nd gear. It's sitting there doing nothing right now, and everything is perfect except for 5-6 teeth on the one gear. I will getting it professionally rebuilt with all the top OS Giken gear, but at the moment I don't have the coin to do so. If someone wants the box though, I'll get it rebuilt (credit cards, gotta love them!). Else, it'll sit there for 3-4 months, eventually get rebuilt, and go back into my car. Some pics:
  16. Quick snap of mine, work in progress, still needs a few bits and pieces:
  17. Item: OS Giken 5 Speed Price: $4700 To Fit: (What car) R32/33/34 GTR (Currently Push Type) Location: Perth Contact: PM or 0402 418 697 Comments: Exactly the same as DirtGarage ran in his car for the 9sec passes etc. and recently sold for $5500 (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Os-Giken-5-Speed-Gtr-Gear-t220130.html). "For those who are not aware of what it costs to build these boxes ill post the following... OS giken kit $4000 Nissan update parts $1300 2nd hand GTR gearbox $1000+ stripdown and assembly $700" = $7000! The gearbox is currently out of my car awaiting a rebuild (and for my bank balance to recover!). If there is interest in the box, I will have it rebuilt immediately at my expense. Otherwise, I will get it rebuilt eventually and put it back in my car. Only reason I'm selling is I'm considering going full Dog Box, as the car isn't much of a street car anymore and the Dog Box will see an extra 10th or so at the drags. This OS box is perfect for everyday driving, and 9 second passes. So, interest?
  18. 350mm length, 5mm diameter. 10mm nuts on either end.
  19. That might be the go Cheers Bart!
  20. As per title, I've split a drivers side brake line, and for the life of me can't find one around. Anyone got a front cut of a 33 with one spare? Cheers.
  21. The low MPH is because he missed 5th gear and coasted across the line. The car had 672rwhp and was running a T88-34D with a HKS 2.8L and HKS H-Pattern Dog Box (pump fuel, no NOS).
  22. You want it to be a monster with 600+hp? Suggestion: Full HKS 2.8L Step 2 kit (~7k plus shipping from Japan) HKS T04Z Kit (~6k) HKS Gasket Kit 1.2mm 87.5mm bore - $323 Nissan N1 Bearings - $253 ARP Rod bolts - $100 JUN Valve guides - $395 ARP Head Studs - $460 TOMEI Procams (270x10.8mm) - $680 TOMEI valve springs - $400 TOMEI Cam Sprokets - $300 TRUST sump extension - $355 JUN High Flow Oil Pump - $950 TRUST Timing Belt Cover - $75 Block Machining - $750 Headwork - $1100 Crank/Cam seals - $112 Sump Extension Welding - $330 Heater Hoses - $280 Cambelt - $107 Gasket Glue - $65 Diff oil - $30 Mobil 1 Oil - $112 3 Filters - $30 Running in oil - $45 Retune - $440 You'll then need: Sard 800cc Injectors Apexi PowerFC Should cover most of it
  23. Apologies, must be a misunderstanding. He obviously wants a 700hp rated turbo setup for future mods/tune, so why bother mentioning that 550-600hp rated turbos would be on sooner? Captain obvious in fine form... I'll keep my opinion that equivalently sized twins/singe will produce the same boost at the same RPM, and you can keep measuring response by how much power it makes at a certain RPM
