  1. Sorry obviously I didn't ask the question clearly enough in my previous post. Which twins make 16psi at 3000rpm and support 700ps? I bet if your ignition was breaking down and it was a basic tune it would be a different story. Why on earth are you looking at the power level, and trying to compare turbos? I've seen the same turbo act completely differently on 2 seperate cars simply due to the tune, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Telling him a pair of twins would instantly make this car more responsive is delusional at best...
  2. Sorry, what do you base that on? It's making 16psi at 4k, what twins make 16psi at 3k and are able to support 700ps? (~550+rwhp). Forget what "power" it's making, thats obviously just a product of the tune. I'm running HKS 2835 48T's which are rated at 760ps (not much more than a .86 GT35) and they don't see full boost (1.7bar) until 5800 in 4th...
  3. Cheers, I'm not saying an N1 pump is definitely going to fail, more so making the point that they do, even on 'low km' engines. I have no reason to lie, it really doesn't bother me either way, but thought some of you might appreciate a picture Negative. The decision was made to chase ~600hp at the wheels. Obviously an N1 engine isn't going to handle that with cast pistons/rods. Instead of grenading a perfectly good motor (and possibly damaging the block in the process) it was stripped down and rebuilt. Originally I was going to retain the N1 pump, lucky I didn't. Yes, the car saw a few limiter launches, but no more than any other GT-R I would suspect. If the oil galleries are blocked with machining swarf, I'd expect to see worn bearings. My bearings had almost 0 wear. Bore was only 2-3 thou worn on each bore, and the head shop said it was the best RB26 head they've ever seen.

  5. Continued from this thread which was hijacked: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Po...20&start=20 For some reason, a few trusted people on here swear by the N1 oil pumps, claiming poor harmonic balancers are to blame, and incorrect assembly etc etc. Here's a picture of my oil pump, taken off a Nissan-built R34 N1 motor, which had done ~22,000kms. Hardly old, and hardly what I'd call 'carelessly assembled'. Yes, it has seen the track, but it hasn't copped limiter launches every second day of it's life. I would say this car has been treated in a typical 'GT-R' way, by which I mean it is being used for what it was designed to do. Draw your own conclusions, but I haven't (and would never) gamble my $10,000+ motor on one of these lasting. Luckily for me my motor was stripped down and rebuilt before this let go completely...
  6. 109ron 100 wet shot NOS crank ignition timing throw pin away, and wait for grenade to explode...
  7. Well, now you have. R34 N1 motor, straight from Nissan, 15,000kms on the clock, cracked crank journal in the N1 pump. Still have the pump sitting at home if you want pictures.
  8. If they followed the map, it made sense, and it worked. We printed 140 maps, hardly 'stingey', just couldn't predict 240 cars rocking up...
  9. Tyres don't just all of a sudden go bald. You have to budget for things like tyres, if you can't, you can't afford the car. Simple.
  10. wtf? You got yellowed for having bald tyres, and you want to 'borrow' some to get over the pits? Dude, buy new tyres! Going into winter, in a RWD R34, with bald tyres = fail.
  11. Thought we'd be safe with 140 maps printed... Not even close. Would have been 200+ cars there. Insane turnout, couldn't have predicted it was going to be THAT big.
  12. haha shut up Bart, you know what I meant....
  13. Nothing except courtesy. It's no different to someone in a Commodore rocking up to a 'Skylines only' cruise. There are plenty of cruises every weekend to drive your car on. On this cruise, we request the N/A owners on this forum find a ride with someone else.
  14. Exactly. Not to offended people, but might save you wasting your time. We don't consider N/A Skylines a performance car either, so 4-stud cars wont cop a map either...
  15. I've seen a GT30 run 326rwkw on a built RB25 before. I think it's the perfect turbo for your power goals. But I can see you chasing more and opting for the 35R or T04Z later down the track...
  16. PM me your username and I'll make sure you get access. Cheers.
  17. RB26 PowerFC 2530's Injectors Boost Front mount clutch front diff in sump removed exhaust boost controller 450rwhp on stock internals (for a while). build a motor and the sky's the limit. By the time you do what Paul's done (RB25, 550+rwhp), all you're left with is an RB25 block. Doesn't make much of a difference 25/26 if thats the case...
  18. Don't know how many of you know me, but I own Antilag. Cruises like this one are a bit of 'wank factor'. They make for a crap cruise (the best cruises are 20-30 cars), attract cops, and don't really have any point. With the amount of cars, you're restricted to the roads and meetpoints you can use, and most of the cruise will resemble being stuck in peak hour traffic. The only point to doing something like this, is trying to raise money for a good cause, or checking out what other cars are in Perth (what AutoSalon is for). Everytime we've informed cops of a large cruise it's backfired on us, for example, the Tsunami Charity Cruise. We had 500+ cars out, with every car making a minimum gold coin donation. They still blocked the carpark in and hassled us, threatening to give out yellows (and they refused to donate to the cause). Cool idea, and it's not like I'll object to it being posted on the forum, but we wont be making bulk effort to organise anything unless there is a point behind it. cheers antilag.com

  20. Have Denso injectors in mine, 650cc. Perfect, and just supported 400kw @ all 4 wheels. Up for sale now as I'm moving to 1000cc's
  21. They were re-used after the motor let go. They have done ok so far, but as I said, I'd recommend Tomei Pistons.
  22. Use Tech9Tyres in O'Connor if you're in the area. Talk to Scotty, he does it cheap cheap. Can also get you any tyres you like ordered in.
