  1. looked to find the wasteland disclaimer posted in skyzerr's sticky thread. just wondering if there is a set of guidelines which moderators follow. Reason being, I just wondered if the WA mods could, upon locking a thread, post why they have chosen to do so. this would make it easier for people to understand why threads are closed and what constitutes irreprehensible off-topic banter. was gonna pm this to mods, but I thought that if there is a general "moderation/forum rules" thread (I cant find it) it would be of use to others. :headspin:
  2. 250 optomistically more boost probably wouldnt increase the power by that much......?? more likely to effect torque rather than power I would have thought. I got 250 on 9 psi. almost the same spec mods....
  3. Avraam - it's mildly off topic, but doof related - anyway, there's a heap of awseome events coming, including appearances from bad company (whom I dont rate), mampi, london elektricity, and Marky, to name a few. the above site has all the details if you're interested.

  5. (she) is on these forums - 'member? she's gonna get a civic now?
  6. I think niz is probably referring to memories of gurnage at the place known as "the old berlin", rather than at the old "berlin" if you follow. I think she would have been even younger than 12......
  7. looks like it was a pretty hard fence!
  8. haha. wikkid aidwin. wing 55 - unholy dragstip warrior. I will probably not be in on this one, due to the fact that my car is slow, and my wallet empty, thereby precluding any change from the current scenario of car slowness. but I will be there - and may spl it up if required.
  9. ok, allow me to clarify the question. let us assume that you and he are mates and that he is indeed willing to give you a cheaper price because of that. I will infer from the fact that he drives a rolla that he's not worth the sort of megga-bling that would enable him to just give away $2000 to mates though. therefore, there has to be some level of realism behind it. for example, I wouldnt just give a mate a $2,000 because he's a mate, circumstances depending. I would however be prepared to let something go a bit cheaper, i.e. be less cut-throat about bargaining, because it's a mate. maaate! however, only to within reasonable limits. i.e., if I had some stuff lying around that I wanted rid of, I might say to a mate, look, just take it and gimme a carton/sixer/dinner next time/30% of the actual value type thing. However, I would not give a mate a 25% discount on an item worth 8+ grand...... maybe 15 to 10% ? depending on the mate and the gut feel. and I would not sell a car worth 4 grand for 2 just cause I'm mates with the guy. therefore, my question to you is twofold: How on earth is the car worth more than 4 grand? if it's not, does your mate have rocks in his head? if the car is (somehow) an expensive item (let's say 13,000 - based on the 15% principle), why on earth would you buy a corrolla turbo for which there are likely to be very low parts availability and massively high insurance costs anyways?
  10. blahbrughuh....english..blerghuhg..wah da phuck!
  11. huh? two grand off a corolla turbo? so what - is he paying you to take it or something? what the hell is a corolla turbo worth that he would give you a 2 grand discount?
  12. hahaha. the ever outspoken hicks. tell us what you think mate! :singer: :soapbox:
  13. schweeeeeT!
  14. I was wondering whether it was evo R or at Jason's.... either way, I think I dibsy them.
  15. memphis - where are your set? ---------- are they a nice set? can we see them?
  16. Adrian I love you. Very much. but I think this is bad advice. :thumbdwn: The people doing the test out and out prefer you to have a driving instructor car because then they have the pedals. the best advice that I can give is to make the driving instructor know that you are in control of the vehicle, and that they, and everyone else on the road is safe for having you there. having the wastegate crack and propelling them back in their seat through first and second is a baaad way to make them feel like you're in control. the pssshhhT! at the end would only make it worse. They have enough other reasons to fail you - like they didnt get any last night, they only got one cup of coffee this morning, or the weetbix had weevils in it when they went to have brekky. there's no need to give them any more.
  17. $20!! I'll be doing it meself then... Q: what word has the BB censored?
  18. jase, your best bet would be to go and tak to them in welshpool, when theyre quiet. tell them what you're doing and let them get to know your face. based on what they indicated to us at the night, they will not give you anything in writing because with borderline installs they want to reserve the right to tell you that your wiring is dangerous. however, they clearly indicated that provided they are installed correctly there should not be a problem. the guy doing the talk noted that there are a number of euros using them as standard items now, and since then I think even commodores have been including them as a factory option. given that there isnt an issue with highbeam (as discussed) you shouldnt have a problem. However.... he did tell a funny anecdote about some guy who had installed them and the cops pulled him up for having melted plastic lenses. they melted because of the extra heat given off.... ....R33 headlights have plastic lenses.....
  19. hmmm... is that soo.... *hatches plan* I will await the news that they have arrived then.
  20. um..... from the rollaboyz organised shambly pits legality info night, the pits engineers didnt have any problem with xenon lights, provided they ran on a relay, not off your standard light-wires. their position was that the current drawn was too great, and could result in melting of the wires, which in turn could start a fire. in an R33, the high beam is not actually in your normal driving lights anyways. you will notice that when you put high beams on, the lights switch from the ones on the outside to the ones on the inside.... so I dont think the pits will have any issues provided that everything is done properly...
  21. ok, so I'm guessing I shouldnt start this if I need to drive my car in 2 hours.... ?
  22. hah. I prefer the halogen ones. the HID ones on that site seem to make the suspension really bouncy...the road keeps shaking!
  23. at this stage the weather this weekend looks like a pearler. I will probably put mine in when they get here - or on saturday morning.... how long did it take everyone else? if I leave 2 hours is that realistic? never pulled the cluster, but I've pulled the dash surround hundreds of times.
