in all honesty - that is a plug in remote starter. I would rip that out before it breaks. drop the lower dash on the car and you will find that thing fitted in with scotch locks.
forget about using it and fit a oz stds item . your insurance will require that anyway for your theft excess to be waived.
change the batteries onthe two way unit and make sure its set to user 1 on the remote. that is 90% of the issues with those. the otehr 10% has to do with antenna placement and install.
they fit a 4x6 in those doors from factory . if you were to do a 5x7 on a custom plate it would work as well. make sire you retain the rear tab when you do. otherwise everything in the door pocket will slide INTO the door.
common speakers that people use in them are 6.5" - watch the depth if you do this.
did you call him?
07-3881-1800. I know there are a few 33's sitting there and a 34 sedan. the V35 is his drive car and I have done a fair bit to that one myself.
tis ok. when you get to it
I'm in hte midst of mocking up oil coolers. I found something off a mitsi 4wd that will suit my oil cooling application quite well. it has banjo fittings decent solid mounts and its cheap to obtain. for the diff coolers I need 3 PS coolers off a R33. (the one I do have is destined for the P'Steering as it sits nicely in the stock spot and the mounting holes line up.)
a few questions I do have for someone though..
what sort of pressure is on the oil lines normally (in PSI)?
what size line (steel) should I be using for this - I was thinking 5/16 ->3/8 myself . I have a small pipe bender and I was going to get enzed to do the banjo fittings.
where is the oil temp sensor on an RB26 - sump?
nope. they are region specific so if your thoughts are buy a USDM one for nix and pop it in - don't. DVD is the wrong region, nav is locked to USA/CAN.
02stagea,
ta!
its not the first one I have built though this is the first one that I have went into that much detail though.
talking to another fellow that totally rebuilt a 32 he thought he knew a fair bit about them before he started - he admitted he was wrong. I'm finding the same thing myself. there are that many 'minor' differences in these cars that its entirely NOT funny.
curretnly I'm working from 4 different chassis numbers to get what I want. 3 of them are Vspecs and one Oz GTR.
thanks to a QLD club member I actually worked out the paint on mine and what the car actually *should* look like internally and externally. if I can make it look like THIS as that is my colour I'll be more than happy.
depends. most will insure it but the theft excess will not go away without an alarm.
being aVspec it will have NATS 2.8 on it but thats not compliant with anything.
dale,
love the last point.
jake,
I'm fairly easy to get along with. do as he says please. next time I may get a bit more sarcastic if you keep posting as you think. for car audio related questions there's a site for that - www.caraudioaustralia.com - try asking your questions there
had simmons P86s (gold mesh) on a previous car. liked them. that was my goal but I cannot buy them anymore.
have found a 'donor' GTR for small bits and pieces local to me. that is going to get a fair bit of stuff taken off it I think. (thanks go to a darling downs member btw.)
to be honest I wouldnt bother. I can see WHAT the car is and the costs to get it back to stock looking would probably outweigh teh advantages of buying it. speak to a RAW about it before you do anything. I can put you onto a couple here in brisbane that have done 34 Vspec IIs and some with a few mods. other thing with them is rust. mate of mine spent MONTHS looking at them and most he found had rust in the rails.
also agree with matty on price.
spent some time looking at wheel choice. looking at 17x7s in lenso specifically the DC6 in copper/bronze..
I would prefer simmons gold mesh but it looks like they are no longer made . I feel the lenso wheels would suit a red car - would like to hear feedback on this idea
