so what budget, car and music do I have to work with here. how loud do you want/listen to it.
I can do a RF system that will knock you socks off but you need to give me a starting point. suggestions would be at least $3k to do it right.
cant do flip out easily as one unit. pioneer have just release the AVICHD3 that does EVERYTHING.
in kenwood - the flipout screen and GPS module would be the go. not much change from $3k for the D3 and $2.3k for the kenwood setup.
steer clear of ebay
you need:
AP745 +AP348A + AP348B and a bit of time.
I usually keep these in a kit anyway. its a common thing for nissan cars.
above link is correct for disassembly.
its part of the dealer fitted security system. when active it drops the ign circuits. there's one of these on a M35 I have to do (and remove..) shortly.
yep looked at that site a while back. suckamps racing was who I was referring to. fellow sells the gear to convert a small car to electric. not cheap but a good site for info.
I looked at doing a subaru sherpa a while back . 110km range on a full charge at 110kmh (72v system) I thought it was pretty impressive.
as for doing it in a weekend- not really a week maybe if everything was at hand.
I'm not going to disclose it- that simple. its not for the faint hearted I will say that. unless you are VERY good with a soldering iron I wouldn't suggest attempting it. I'll leave it at that.
the main point of that post is this: I get people asking me DAILY to do something with their unit that came with the car that is usually aftermarket and tey want to pay nix for it. forget it and bin it was essentially what I am saying.
I'm far from a promotions person I offer help a fair bit on this site if you haven't noticed already.
remote only. also its not as simple as it may sound. most of the units have a video in on them so if you had the correct signal its easy. thing is anything late model IS NOT THAT EASY!
most of the cars in question didnt have DVD video anyway. the DVD logo on most indicates that it is a DVD ROM system. if it says DVD video ont he face of the unit then it supports it.
