  1. soleniod is broken. have fun..
  2. PCAE - saturday - ring them.
  3. not sure on that one. part of the reason I wanted a better shot of it. the one that is IN the dash next to the nav IS wired to the CAN system
  4. got a better shot of it. thats NOT the one I thought.
  5. wonder where they get alpine from. they are not listed as a direct dealer.
  6. I can put them on the wheel easy enough. stalks tend to go where they will fit. theres not a lot of room around the OE stalks on some of them.
  7. no- leave it there. it complains if its removed. been there done that.
  8. here's something I found today: precision current promo. bit cheaper than JB currently I see. Leader_Retail_LR_8.07.pdf
  9. different thats for sure..
  10. what year are you looking at??
  11. FHRX - not an alpine dealer to my knowledge JB- sell alpine not the top end gear Strathfield - not a dealer Lifestyle - unsure Precision car audio engineering do. the owner is ex alpine australia so he knows more than most about them they are in carlton.
  12. loks like a VDO unit. not a bad system actually. see also ROSTRA,SCS,COMMAND. all of those will work on these cars. $7-800 is the norm for them.
  13. the place I'mthinking of is plastral fidene. they are in northern brisbane.
  14. no I do not. I dare say you would need a consult for it.
  15. in short no. on way to do it is to rework it. (TV) as for nav not for $600 - the nav alone is a LOT more than that. UK guys are doing what I am. if you are going to be a tightarse then a tom tom is the go along with a spare glass when it gets stolen... I have put a fair bit of time into this and the end result will be worthwhile for a lot of people. I need a local 05+ model for a test case - if you own one in brissy or surrounds pm me.
  16. more info pls. if you mean the antenna cable - antenna adapter - $23 from me and its sorted.
  17. those are the ones he has already. jap car is slightly different in some areas - security is one of them.
  18. its a dealer programmed item I'm afraid. location is in the drivers kickpanel.
  19. Body Control Module- it operates 90% of the car - if something is out of kilter then things stop working. inputs are resistive on these so if the input (IE switch ) stuffs up - no worky.
  20. I'm working on a $1600 turn key nav solution (fitted.) for it but I do see your point. for $1k you can get a decent box and if you have the screen already you are set. as for DVB boxes,I tend to steer clear of the $100 boxes due to relaibility. as for reception - if you are in a clear area and city based (IE no buildings , valleys etc) then it works fine. I have customers that expect residential reception at 110kmh and its not really the case. too many variables really. terrain being one of them. yes its a LOT better than analog signals but it still drops out. if you get one for nix plug it in and you will see what I mean . external antennas help but its still not as claimed. if you feel like a chat my contact details are in my sig
  21. nope. I'm still looking for the 'correct' ones. need someone in japan I think. (that said need someone to pinch the software that runs these cars and the consult tool )
  22. no offence here. the VDO units are well into the $1500 mark with maps I know of another cheaper item as well that is loosely $1k. the TV boxes are anywhere from 100-$600 depending on what you want or spec. so it very quickly gets to the $2k mark BEFORE you get someone to put it in place. to me if you are capable of doing a CAR PC in it - go for it. however if you are the slightest bit unsure - don't try. the ones I'm doing are setup the same way. audio goes through the main unit. TV is the same. the whole lot will be a LOT easier once I get the plug and play setup done. would be interested in looking at pics of the car you just mentioned as I have access to a LOT of nav products so I dare say I could find specs on it..
  23. I'll have to dig up my contact for it- but there is a place northside that sells it in whatever size you wnat. would also look at glass shops. be well aware that it is NOT cheap.
  24. mot see the cars only. forget about features. wouldnt mind seeing this mirror - only read about it.
  25. central locking is controlled by the BCM - windows 'can' also be.
