  1. I do but not a lot of it. I can do decks but not speakers (I'll check though.)
  2. must contact my supplier about that one
  3. yep remove all the crap and reuse that one. easier. though if you want to spend money I sell them.
  4. alberts will do one for you. I have a guy in kalgoorie but thats a bit far away..
  5. looked at pix. thats an eclipse unit. probably a nav one by the look of it. the OEM harness is still there btw.
  6. what unit was in there? if it was an aftermarket one hten the OEM plugs are still there. unclip and remove EVERYTHING that does not relate to the car. from there reuse the OEM patch plugs for your new one. solder and shrink the new stereo plug the the patch leads. done. if you need accessories let me know.
  7. start pulling fuses inside th car - you have killed one.
  8. fiar enough. mint, ta! you would be suprised what blau say about my efforts as well.
  9. find a mast and replace teh mast only. remove the antenna assy then dismantle it , remove the rope , pull out the broken mast and then put it back together. refit and reconnect. turn radio on wait for motor to go all the way up and insert new mast. turn radio off. then guide mast into place. done. if you are unsure post up pics of the antenna assy and I'll walk you through it.
  10. its really up to you - however these are my suggestions ( I sell these as well.) kenwood: KDCMP5033U - $429 INFO KDCMP7533U - $499 INFO DPXMP4090 - $499 INFO Blaupunkt. BAHAMAS MP46 - $299 INFO ACAPULCO MP54 - $499 ($599RRP) this one will tune itself to the car's acoustics. INFO I have a few more in mind as well. prices listed on the kenwood gear are RRP. ask as I probably can do better
  11. this is the first one I have come across. teh security system is these cars is usually dealer fitted and not factory fitted.
  12. howie, they are all different. there is one variant that has the shock sensor in hte unit. yours is outboard and could be anywhere. r32, post a pic of your remote and I'll tell you what to look for via PM.
  13. leave it to me and I'll sort it out when I come to adelaide.
  14. nope. will fit straight in. use 2 5/8 guages ,a bit of steel plate bent to suit the area and a bit of angle cut pvc pipe and you have it.
  15. thinking about it - they did swap the plugs after R33 s1 you will need to make a patch lead to get it going.
  16. if they are BOTH clarion units them it 'should' be a plug and go. if not I can make it work with a patch lead.
  17. and I can do that price as well + frt as its a 11kg box. that said that box will do the whole car and make a VERY BIG improvement in sound. its hard to expalin but take our word for it.
  18. thats teh one. same priciple as the holden version fitted to teh statesman and upspec calais.
  19. if you are referring to a evo 9 then that is GSM based.
  20. nope. wrong region and wrong TV format. basically the unit is junk as soon as it left japan.
  21. QT is a 3 pt sysem. two points actively controlled by the reomte in your hand and the third is remotely controlled from the monitoring centre. see above comments for operation when vehicle is moving.
  22. it works on that concept - not the phone towers . QT own their own towers in the areas tehy cover. yes the rumor on CDMA phones may be true but it DOESNOT apply to QT.
  23. OEM units and the fellow told you a lie. the GPS is useless and cannot be 'rechipped'.
  24. nakamichi - whats that most poeple haven't got a clue about the quality of that unit.
  25. quicktrak works on CDMA (spread spectrum technology) and cannot be jammed. only way to disable it is to drive out of the coverage area or find the unit. in regard to stopping a stolen car from a monitored point of view, the police have control of it (via the monitoring co. ) once the vehicle is secured.
