  1. the risks you run buying miscellaneous car parts. some stuff wont fit or wont be right. happens to the best of us
  2. isnt A and B the same thing but worded differently? If the turbo is wrong for that housing that means that housing is wrong for that turbo.
  3. Seems fitting as I don't have a missus. But in saying that. Fatter wallet for more parts!
  4. Is there a part number you can give to garrett to clarify?
  5. If it sounds t51r esque im getting one right this second! Wank factor is the best factor!
  6. Its pretty responsive. Sounds like a normal medium frame turbo to me as im running an intake pipe n apexi pod. I've actually never heard a 3076 with the anti surge cover. Are there any up sides apart from sound?
  7. See mine hasn't got the anti surge cover just looks like a run off the mill ar70 comp cover
  8. 360kw with better response than I already have is more than enough. If I change turbos ill go forced performance 3076
  9. Im not saying it for heat shielding. im saying to hpc coat it to retain the heat inside the turbo exhaust to improve thermal efficiency. Yes it helps shield heat but im aiming at the heat retention in the turbo. i was running a turbo beanie untill a poorly made oil line burst and filled it full of oil. now it wont stop smoking. its like i have bob marley under my bonnet.
  10. Thanks for clearing it up. When I baught my beanie off hpiab they said remove it after hard driving and whilst racing to reduce the risk of damage to bearings. I thought why sell me that if it Can damage the turbo.
  11. Aparently beanies can lead to internal bearing damage if left on and raced with. No idea how. Hpc coating increases thermal efficiency in the turbo which leads to better response. Plus if you hpc coat it silver the chicks will flock... hard. But in all seriousness when I do go a steampipe manifold ill be hpc coating the manifold and turbo housing. Looks good, doesn't get that rusted look from heat, serves a purpose.
  12. get it hpc coated before you throw it on...
  13. Good choice pal. Excellent combo
  14. i went the .82 exhaust on my rb25 and i love it. Lag is basically non existant through gear changes. full boost before 4,000rpm and strong power all the way to 7200. The .63 will be more responsive yes, but by how big a margin? Id much rather a fatter mid range and top end than be super responsive and flatten out from high mid to top. but all depends on what you want out of the setup.
  15. Lithium: the 3076r is an awesome turbo for the street. Great mix of response and power on pump fuel. They may not make mega hp but for the 300kw range they are perfect. I'll be heading to calder park drag strip soonish and will post up vids
  16. Trents confident it will go high 3 hundy to 400kw on e85 or c16. I'll muck around with the car like this for a while. She's fast
