  1. What exactly do you expect? If somebody asks to take ur car "for a spin", they're not exactly gonna granny it. You shoulda seen this coming... mate or no mate
  2. His fault 100%, he won't be able to challenge and if he does he will lose. How bads the damage?
  3. Did u upgrade both front and back? And with what spec swaybars... whitelines?
  4. Why waste ur time getting a custom t-piece made up when u can get one from repco for like $1 and run the boost gauge to the hose running off the inlet manifold. It wont break and its the same size as normal vaccum hose that is compatible with all gauges ive seen. Dont use the stock boost gauge hose, its small, flimsy and breaks too easily.
  5. ^^^ agree with most of this - I wouldnt be getting the remapped ECU though, i'd get PFC or if u cant afford it SAFC - Also no point upgrading clutch and coilpacks until they fail if you only drive around the city - you'll be able to drive it on its last legs to the workshop when the clutch is finished - Also the stock pads are pretty good in my experience, wouldnt bother upgrading until they next need to be serviced Just so you also know, back in the day i boosted my stock s2 nylon turbo to 12psi with a t-piece that would spike and creep. It never blew and was it very good nick even though it had done over 120K's.
  6. Abit off topic but was wondering if the PFC takes timing out automatically when it knocks like the Vipec does?
  7. you can take it to 2 of their repairers and if the qutoes are not too different, you can choose which one you want to work on your car
  8. 1. Anzac day match at MCG - Go the Pies! 2. Eureka Skydeck 3. Ice bar 4. Shopping at Chapel St / Chadstone / Collins St 5. Crown on a Saturday night - I've been to the Casino at GC and it is crap so she'll enjoy the experience. 6. Restaurant Tram (This is surprisingly good and very unique to Melbourne) 7. Princess Raceway on Friday night This could easily all be done in a weekend. That is what i would seriously do (minus No.7)
  9. Nisskid, agree with you that more stress may be caused by harsh bumps rather than cornering force since they are more dynamic and therefore require less force for failure - but not really sure since haven't measured it. Ive however heard of this type of failure happening more on the track (where u'd expect more cornering force) rather than on the street (where you'd expect more bumps) but could be wrong. This failure is caused by the fact that putting an unsecured spacer on ur wheel changes the point at which the force hits the hub whilst not changing the point of bending. So where as the shear force is not larger, the bending moment will significantly increase and hence cause extra stress which will more likely result in shear failure. Here is the very rough diagram showing this: Note the rectangles are the hubs not the wheels. The horizontal 5 lines are the wheel studs and the vertical line is where the wheel force is applied to the studs. The letters in blue/red are forces and in black distances. Forces calculated assuming an applied force of x kN from the wheel. Note that in this very rough sketch and i have approximated with the wheel load being a point load (x). As u increase the spacer size (from y to z) you get a linear increase in bending moment. In reality, this would be a distributed load, so the bending moment would really increase by a factor of the distance squared. ie if you x3 the distance, its x9 the bending moment.
  10. Terrorism is an ongoing threat in many areas around the world. The threat in some destinations is very high. We continue to receive reports that terrorists are actively planning attacks. Australians could be caught up in attacks targeted at others. Terrorists may attack official or civilian targets depending on their particular objectives at the time. Travel only if required

Spotted a burgundy r33 on western ring road earlier tonight (around 10:30-11:00 I think), driver looked asian. I was in the silver 34. Any1 here?
  12. Hey Hamish, What type of mech diff do you have? 1 way, 2way or 1.5 way?
  13. Wouldn't get spacers mate, Having loose spacers is dangerous (especially if u give ur car a hard time around corners) and you risk having ur insurance claim denied (if they cause you to crash). Better off getting the right offset.
  14. Ok, here's the thing: Compressor surge (commonly known as dose) is bad for your turbo. There is no real dispute about this. Whats in dispute is how bad it actually is, ie the simile mentioned before was a tennis ball against a brick wall. What you got to remember is that if any given turbo has a life of 120K kms then compressor surge isn't gonna do you any favours in regards to life expectancy. From my experiences so far compressor surge is not going to have any affect (other than increased lag b/w gears) in the short term, but if ur looking to keep ur car for a few years and/or have an old turbo on there, I would def be putting on a BOV. P.S., Ive got a blitz one for sale if u need it
  15. How many years have u got left on ur P's? This conversion will prob take ages and by the time its perfect, you will prob be off ur P's. You're better off waiting and trading in ur NA for a GTSt. Less headaches that way. Are you also going to replace the gearbox coz from what i understand the NA gearboxes are not as strong as the GTSt's. Not sure what the law in Qld is, but you might be able to drive a GTSt insured if its in ur parent's name and is the only car in the household. I know in Vic there is some provision for this sort of thing, but if I were you, I'd be looking into any sort of loophole in QLD law that will allow you to drive it.
  16. Are they the blue little round/cone things? If so how many do you need, coz ive got a few lying around. You can have them if you're in Melbourne and willing to pick them up.
  17. Am I allowed to come?
  18. bump, bov pipe has been cut now to a small pipe to suit FMIC piping
  19. They used to hold drift sessions at Calder PArk, have these stopped permanently?
  20. lol, nice 1,
  21. mate calm down, all i did was post up a link to a liberal party media release. Maybe ur a Liberal party life member or something, i don't care, people have the right to know. I don't see whats misinformed or misleading. So maybe look at the facts before becoming an e-warrior and getting personal. P.S. I hope ur proud of urself using a big word like pariah. I guess you showed me. Ur a tool... look that up in the dictionary!
  22. lol, I got same cable too in case Justin fall thru
  23. Hahaha, good one, ive got a stitch... not.
  24. Of course we don't hear Ballieu talking up the rhetoric of the real hoons from his home neighbor hood. Those Toorak Mums in their Toorak Tractors talking on their mobiles whilst failing to give way and tailgating. They are the real hoons Maybe Ballieu should look at his own neighborhood to crack down on rather than some fishtailing muzza in Taylor's Lakes.
