You'll be right if u keep ur SA plates mate, just say ur doing temporary work here then going back. Just be careful though coz police read these forums. As has been mentioned if ur not doing nething stupid generally cops wont hassel you

Thats it, but dont forget that u'll prob also need to upgrade injectors, fuel pump and AFM Have u done all that? should get a pwr figure of 230 - 250 rwkW from memory

Id get a new turbo if i were you. Thing is with imports to be able to afford one means not just being able to purchase it, but affording all the dramas that go with imports: high insurance costs high fuel consumption + higher price of high octane petrol chance of blown turbos chance of blown motor increased risk of speeding fines increased risks of canary If you require your car for work/uni with no other viable transport options being available then a skyline is not a correct choice of vehicle for you. Barring that, my suggestion is that you take your car off the road for a few months, (which will help u save money) tell every1 u lost ur license due to the draconian traffic offence regulation in this state, and use PT/sponge lifts off parents/mates/GF/Sisters and save enough for upgraded turbo. At least you'll have a reward at the end of it all

Is Flat-sticking Bad For Your Car? (automatic)

Let me know how you go with the aftermarket brands.... I also need to change mine. Are the clutch fans easy to takeoff/install?
-
Where abouts did you get a new one from? I had to trim the blades on the stock one for the intercooler pipe so wouldnt mind buying an aftermarket one that fits on without needing to be trimmed. Anybody with a Hybrid FMIC know of an aftermarket brand that doesnt require trimming of the blades?

WTB: RB25DET Clutch fan Also interested in a swap of a bosche 044 fuel pump with mounting brackets and fuel lines for a bosche 040 in take fuel pump Location Melbourne Thanks

Hi there, Was removing my radiator today when i noticed from under the car that the clutch fan has a crack in it, on the part that sits around bearing on the motor. See pic: As you can see, the crack is about 1 cm in size. Obviously the smart thing to do would be to replace it, but i'm curious if anybody's had a similar issue or a fan fail on them due to cracking. Also, if anybody's got a spare one lying around that would be great. Thanks

There's also a section in the RSA about that talks about the fact that there has to be a reasonable indication that an officer is attempting to pull you over. (or words to that effect) I wouldn't pull over, I'd just speed off, they don't have the power to prosecute you for alleged speed, that much i'm sure.

yea if i was you id tow it to mechanics. For $50 its a piece of mind, that what i ended up doing, they fixed it in like 10mins

^^ +1 happened to me, under the car it drips down at the gearbox

This could help and im sure it wouldnt do any harm but from the EPA's point of view, you a responsible for your car not the previous owner so really they're probably not gonna care. Also you've got to remember the RWC only lasts for 30 days so depending how long u've had ur car for, its goona be pretty hard to prove that you haven't modified anything in that period of time. Also remember that when it comes to environmental law its guilty unless proven innocent. What i suggest is you approach the workshop, explain your situation and ask them to at least help you out fixing/paying the fine. Then if that doesnt work you can bring in the lawyers.

After living in Sydney for the last 18 months I get back here and its seriously a joke. I never noticed it before because i was so conditioned but after reading some of the posts and hearing some of the stories i really have to wonder what value for money i am getting for taxes. Let me elaborate: Going on a nite on the town in Melbourne: Every second time I go out there is some sort of fight brawl that i will witness during the night. Whether that is inside the club(s) or in the street. Some ppl here really have an attitude problem. What concerns me the most however is the lack or identifiable police foot presence in hotspots to prevent this sort of behaviour and even worse, the inadequate response time. Meanwhile, for some reason which i cannot understand (other than it bringing in more revenue) Vic Police management thinks that resources are much better spent defecting cars / issuing speeding fines / patrolling for hoons. Now don't get me wrong, I don't condone this sort of behaviour but where are the priorities? Sure it might make a good story on a current affair to impound 20 cars in a night but given the seriousness of Melbourne's street violence epidemic, I really have to question the competance of senior police members. This compares to Sydney: Street violence also occurs but is much less of a problem. I can walk safely in the CBD or through the cross and i wont feel unsafe. I wont see a brawl every time i go out clubbing. On the few occasions it did happen, police response was expediant (compared to VIC at least). I drove around in my imported car and police wouldn't even look twice at me. I never got pulled over or ever got hasseled. My point is this: Police would rather spend resources catching ppl with illegal mods on their car but otherwise law abiding citizens rather than concentrating their efforts/resources on cutting down street violence. Where are the priorities gone?

Actually no... Staff are generally not the last to get paid under Australian bankruptcy rules. In the US its a different story. Best advice for ur sis is to start looking for other jobs but by no means quit. There is a good chance of a severance package especially if the company begins to restructure itself.

Thanks, thats the one - looks to be dodgy from the sounds of it though

Was wondering whether anybody happened to catch the ads last nite on TV for the remote control drift cars that were on special. Wanted to buy one for my mate for Xmas but forgot the name for the place. They were advertising them for $130 from memory so they make a pretty good present for any car enthusiast
