Are All Coilover's Dampening Adjustable?
Mr Italy! replied to Kennedy's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Damn straight - all those people that pay us Canberrans out are missing out on our AWESOME roads, ability to use fireworks AND purchase porn if one felt like doing it... suckers! -
Rattling Rear Suspension R33
Mr Italy! replied to Primordial's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The on the clock KM's may not be accurate, remember a lot of imports have been tampered with before they enter the country. I've got N1's but havent noticed this problem as of yet. But on the subject of N1's, are they a particularly good set of coilovers? A mate told me that brand new they are worth like $2500 or something - is this about right? They seem to have a massive amount of thread which will come in handy when i can be bothered lowering them. Justin -
Sounds like a good plan, "We'll put it on my tab at Harry's".

Annoying Rattle From Rear Seats
Mr Italy! replied to R32Abuser's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
If they are anything like the R33 GTS-T seats, they have kinda hook things that MUST go over the attachment at the back in order for them to sit right. If they dont sit right, they will rattle. Simple fix is to take the seat out and put it back in properly. Again, thats for the R33 - i'm not sure if its the same as the R32. Justin -
How's your driving record? If its not too shabby, in your letter to the ombudsmen/police, spend a lot of time informing them about your impecible record.. If you are able to ofcourse.

Custom Blue Skyline Thats Been Doing Formal Runs
Mr Italy! replied to Mr Italy!'s topic in Australian Capital Territory
Hmmm now bayside blue, thats very similar to the ford xr8/xr6 blue right? If so, then yes, thats the colour im thinking of. I'm pretty sure its the one you are talking about LO R33, because im certain it didnt have tri spokes. Just to confirm, he did the narrabunda college formal lastnight correct? I tried to find him after he did the drop off but he had disappeared! If you can ask him if it was definately him at the bunda formal tonight, please ask him if he has Thursday Dec. 8th booked? Thanks for your help guys!! -
Hey guys! Just wondering if anyone knows who drives that really nice custom blue coloured R33 (i think its a series 1) thats been doing a bunch of formal runs lately? My formal is coming up next thursday (8th of Dec) and got the idea lastnight of going in that car and have my (hot) date go in a custom pink/purple R33 S1 that lives up the road... what can i say, i just love skylines. Any details would be great! Thanks, Justin

Hey! I just had a Mongoose M80AM and its working out great. My brother has had the same alarm on his car for about a year and its working out well for him too. Not sure how much you want to spend as its a 3 point immobilisor, but i figure when it comes to security, saving a few bucks isnt the best idea. Theres a bloke on the forums (i think his name is chris) who installs them for a nice price. If your nowhere near his workshop, he can send you the kit. Thanks, Justin

Ohhh man the cops love Style32 - we were out at civic lastnight on foot - we had only been there 5 minutes and hadnt even started drinking... and a cop had already threatend to arrest him. But thats beside the point

Yeah i had that funk going on about 3 weeks before mine went... not the best feeling in the world when you first discover its on the way out. One day on the way to pick up some pizzas, driving like a granny, it totally gave up... had to struggle my way there and home, doing no more then 2500rpm Is the clutch peddle really spongy? Do you have a massive take up point or whatever its called?

Yeah i received a similar sort of thing recently just after passing an inspection at a servo, except mine was a "randomly selected quality assurance follow up inspection"... Random my ass.. Got it cleared yesterday at dickson - althought it was 5mm too low and .1 db too loud, they let it slide I've never been to dickson so i was stressing like crazy, but the guys were actually nice Bad luck with that though, the RTA are on a crazy blitz!! Funny that, its formal season and the RTA are EVERYWHERE!

Oh nah that wasnt aimed at you - it was just a general rant... i wish my parents forked out $5k a year for insurance Thats fair enough, but i dont think "thats got to be the dumbest thing to say to someone" is the right choice of words when describing my solution to his problem seeings how you have used the same solution in your very own situation aswell (as you are on third party). Justin

How so? I'm 18 and im still on my P's - i own an R33 on 3rd party insurance. I would much prefer comprehensive but for the purchase price that i picked the 33 up for, the insurance in 3 years is going to cost more then the original purchase price. I dont know about you, but to me thats an astronomical waste of money if I dont have an accident caused by myself. Why not just go 3rd party fire + theft if you trust your driving enough? Accidents happen every day and if i happen to get myself into one, ill face the consequences - but if im lucky enough not to cause an accident while im on 3rd party - i come out ahead. If mummy and daddy paid for my car or paid for my insurance, im sure i'd have comprehensive - but they dont pay a cent towards my car.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA THATS GOLD!!

Trent, My mate who also owns a skyline got harrased by the cops on friday night when we were in the city.... he was picking on us coz we drive skylines... He couldnt understand why we bought skylines instead of a commodores - in his words, a commodore can do anything a skyline can do... apparently. Maybe you should take the nice police officers words of advice and invest in a commodore..... im sure you'll find one in your price range. (keep in mind, this police office with "vast" amounts of "knowledge" also told us that intercoolers do nothing but look shiney and larger exhaust do nothing but make noise.... smart guy )

Screw the insurance, 3rd party baby! That is if you have the cash to spend if you have an accident... also if you choose that route make sure you source a very safe alarm. But as Amaru said... dont bother doing a turbo to non turbo conversion even if it is temporary... just find a cheap non turbs one and sell it when you feel like upgrading.. I'm also on my P's and have a turbo line... if your sensible and careful the power is fine... just take it easy and you'll be fine. No playing funny buggers and you'll be fine.

 Your 16 and you still havent been informed of the rough value of a Skyline?? I could understand your lack understanding the value of the dollar if you were say 5 yrs old... but 16... crickey you must not go outside much.

Spotted a stunning young lass driving a White Series 2 R33 GTS-t out in civic on friday night - she drove in to mobil servo just as me and my mate were leaving there in a white series 1... Chicks with Skylines, i love it!!

I'm keen to hear what you do for a living JOP... if its not too much of a personal question.... - listening to the apprentice theme song - money money money money......... MONEY!

Someone correct me if im wrong, but couldnt you just bridge the gap where the fuse used to be? -
Thanks guys! Sounds good to me, its great that they are so close to the airport - it should be easy to get things done in a short distance from the airport. Anything i should look out for going on in melbourne? I'm after a R32 GTS-T - know of any that are dodgy and i should stay away from? ylwgtr2 - you have a PM. Thanks again guys, Justin

Hey Guys! I'm from Canberra who is planning a trip down to Melbourne to poach an R32 GTS-T from you guys. There’s nothing worth buying up this way, so im looking to fly down to Melbourne with a few cars lined up to check out. One way ticket so I’d be looking to buy, with the money to boot. My question is do you know of any good mechanics, preferably Skyline/Japanese specialists, who could look over the car(s) if they were taken to the workshop. If you guys can help that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Justin
