  1. Decide on a style and go from there ie chrome shadow chrome coloured (ie black, white, red) There's tons of awesome wheels out there that suit skylines, and some very very nice jap brands (check the trader section of this forum for example) I've personally got some AVS Mod 6's on my car: http://users.bigpond.net.au/m_thomas/tommoskyline.jpg I personally love them, but a lot of people don't as well! Wheels are a choice that only you can make mate Good luck, Tommo.
  2. WSID now don't even scrutineer clean looking street cars. A few officials stand at the front of the staging lanes. If you have a rotor / really modified car, they'll send you off to the scrutineering shed. Otherwise, they just inspect your helmet and write the numbers on your car, and off you go into your lane. A pretty good idea really
  3. Thanks for that - I just hope on a colder night, that MPH comes up a little. Seems a bit down? What MPHs were you running? I'll be replacing them with some Hankook K104's... i've heard good things, and I require good tyre life (I do 30,000kms of driving a year), so I can't go an ultimate performace tyre. Cheers, Tommo.
  4. I had no problems selecting gears throughout the run? Sucks to hear about that problem, I haven't experienced that though. Wilch: I know what you mean, I read that too, so I played around with it myseld. In the end, the bigger burnout I did, the better 60ft I was getting. Thats the thing, the Falken Ziex's have a very very high temperature rating as to when they become sticky, and the big burnouts got them there I tried a little first gear burnout on my first run and it spun a lot off the line... edit: I got a best of 2.100 60ft time.... not too great but not too shitty either
  5. Yeah 2nd gear burnouts... I think in the right one I just had a rock because that was the only time it did it... so dodgy though - so i've booked in to get new tyres on Tuesday Both tyres only spark in the first video (tommowsid.avi) Managed to get 5 runs in, between 6pm and 8:30pm (at that point, my tyres were pretty much bald and it wasn't going to get any colder ) I'd also gotten 96mph in EVERY one of my runs, just with a different 60ft time.. I figured the only way I was going to get faster is with a better MPH, which just wasn't going to happen.
  6. hehe, it's just I do a lot of KM's in my car, and I personally don't like big cannons on 33s...
  7. Nup, although i've gone for an exhaust tip that looks like stock http://www.gunnamotorsport.com/tommo/tommo1.jpg
  8. Some burnout vids http://www.gunnamotorsport.com/vids/tommowsid3.avi http://www.gunnamotorsport.com/vids/tommowsid2.avi http://www.gunnamotorsport.com/vids/tommowsid.avi Turns out I have a nail in my tyre
  9. It was a pretty good night, although damn hot and humid, which my stock side mount didn't like too much at all. Managed to get a 14.3 @ 96mph anyway. R33 GTS-T with turbo back exhaust, 8psi, and falken Ziex tyres.
  10. Could I please be someone photographer? Please?
  11. Really sorry to hear about your loss RIP
  12. Thanks mate - will look forward to it. Let's hope it's a quiet night, I'm sooo tempted to go and buy some sticky rubber tomorrow. Cheers, Tommo
  13. Hi all, I've got all tomorrow off work, so i'll be heading out to WSID. I'll be at the gates at 4:45pm as i'd like to get in early. If anyone see's me, feel free to come say hi. I've just got a R33 GTS-T with an exhaust and Falken Ziex tyres, so i'm not expecting good times, but it will be good fun.. Hope to see some of you there Regards, Tommo.
  14. Thought it would have been - I was eating with a few mates at Maccas, and we were all listening and suprised when we heard your car was manual And then we talked about Stageas for a while I'll come up and say hi if I see you there again See, you've been spotted
  15. um, dare I ask what was involved in this accident? How much was the speeding fine for? Sounds like it was good cruise all around though, shame I couldn't attend.
  16. I saw and waved at a White R34 GTT on Old Windsor Road (at the lights at the end of the M2)... he gave me a toot back I saw one last Monday (6 days ago) at BP Seven Hills... had an exhaust and sounded nice Was that you??
  17. Sweet - some nice cars... :) Did ya's go for a drive?
  18. Thanks all Turning 23 is a bad age to turn haha, more away from that "teenager life" and more into the "real life" part
  19. If you all remember the last drag day, I took a few photos and posted them all on the forums Some pretty decent shots. Anyway - would love to do the same this time, but won't be running my R33. If anyone has a spare "photographer" spot, please let me know, as i'd love to come! ie: http://www.gunnamotorsport.com/pics/DSC_4158.jpg http://www.gunnamotorsport.com/pics/DSC_4197.jpg http://www.gunnamotorsport.com/pics/DSC_4336.jpg http://www.gunnamotorsport.com/pics/DSC_4186.jpg http://www.gunnamotorsport.com/pics/DSC_4220.jpg Cheers, Tommo.
  20. Not cheap unfortunately, but I wanted something that will last a while. The split dump pipe for my R33 GTS-T was $550... (not sure how good / bad a price that is though)
  21. Wonder if the RB20s will have enough power to spin the fronts in the wet!
  22. 60mm longer, 5mm wider So it's about this much longer: <--------------------------------------------------->
  23. Hey guys. Looks like it's going to rain... So i'm going to go to WSID next Wednesday instead. Cheers, Tommo.
  24. Sounds good - i'm a stocker, so I don't expect better than a 14.5 or so I'll be at the gates at 4:45pm or so too. See ya there
  25. In my experience the import has always been cheaper than it's locally delivered alternatives. My R33 is $1.5k cheaper to insurance than a S14A would have been (hence the decision to go the R33) Both are great cars and are hard to compare running costs as it depends on your driving style and condition of the car you purchase.
