  1. The 6 speed gearboxes aren't having problems with highly modified STi's that have been getting around the performance scene for over two years. I'm 100% confident they won't have gearbox issues. Should be interesting to see the new Evo vs STi comparisons.
  2. That's awesome, thanks for the info NV Can't wait to see your car out there as well...
  3. Hey, I imagine we'd be there about then, latest at 11am. If that car park is easy to see, we shall meet there ?
  4. Over 140mph you require a chute
  5. Yeah, fair enough Defintely something to be aware of... Kinda harsh though hey, bloody expensive hobby isn't it !!! But I guess they are looking after you.
  6. Yep, that's correct. Thanks for the information anyway... I knew there was much more to it but didn't know the exact specs (as I don't have a 10 second car)
  7. Yes I've read that, but as I said in there Mark doesn't want a cage, and he expect these kind of times. If he wanted to put a cage in, the other stuff is easy enough to do (of course, all $$$, but aren't as permanent as a cage....)
  8. You have to do ALL of that if you run a 9.99 - 10.99 second pass ? I was aware of a lot of those requirements, but I always say "without a cage", because thats the primary reason most people never do all of the stuff above, as a cage would be very hard for them to own a car with... the other stuff wouldn't effect it. However, next time I'll make sure I write.... "Hey got booted for ....." and write all your replies
  9. 10.7 second quarter mile on his first pass apparently Unfortunately, it was kicked out from there, due to lack of a cage.. It's a 32 GTR with a T04R BF Goodrich Streets 388rwkw on pump fuel... although apparently it was running C16 tonight? 10 second GTRs rock Anyway, just thought you'd be interested to hear... WSID was awesome tonight. i'll confirm MPH / 60ft times when I find out more details
  10. A mate of mine took all the photos, XSV Photography. If you want any full size photos, you can email him at: xsvphoto@gmail.com Cheers, Tommo
  11. Hi Zeb, I'd say we are best looking at Take Away options, as it's very hard to know certain numbers until on the day. However, I hope you will meet up with us
  12. Best way to get to the cruise is either via the M2 (for city / northern suburbs people): Go to the end of the M2.. this will be OLD WINDSOR ROAD... turn right onto old windsor, and follow that for a few KM's... you'll see the BP / Maccas on the right hand side of the road... there's a set of traffic lights there you can use. It's just after the Norwest Blvd intersection.. it's the first BP you'll see. For people that want to use Cumberland highway, it's very similar... at the end of Cumberland highway, turn left onto Old Windsor Road... follow that until you see a BP, and it's the same location listed above. If a lot of cars turn up, we will be in the McDonalds car park. If anyone is unsure on the directions, feel free to shoot me a PM and I'll give you my mobile number. This meeting location is best because there's not as many traffic lights after that, so it's easier to keep us together as a group... I'd say we will meet up again at Windsor McDonalds to ensure the group is together. Cheers, Tommo.

  14. It's already been done a few times, I know of a 180SX with a 1U in it. Goes about the same as a stock SR 180 would.
  15. I found a copy of ImpulR33R's dyno sheet in his for sale thread: I've been watching this thread with interest. Cheers, Tommo.
  16. I drive like I normally do - the difference of $3 per 100km isn't going to kill me. I'd be very interested to know how much of a difference a SAFC makes to fuel economy though. Has anyone done a before and after test? I currently get 400km to 45-48L pretty much every tank.
  17. Sounds like a great deal, good luck man!!!
  18. Nah, it's ok. I'll hold out and see what happens.
  19. Yep, i'll be coming if there's a decent attendance
  20. Hi there, I'll offer $80 including post to Sydney if you're interested. It's a bit below your price but I'd prefer a brand new K&N if I was going so close to the $100 mark hehe Cheers, Tommo..
  21. You'll know about it.. Being able to "slip" a clutch when launching, is being able to get off the clutch slowly so it's engaging but not all the way engaged, if you know what I mean? So the car starts moving, then you get off the clutch. Your mates clutch is not slippable, either on or off ! With a clutch that will slip a little, it means you can have a smoother driving experience when changing gears, especially when taking off from idle. You'd know when your standard clutch is slippng... when we mean slipping, it's like booting it in any gear (whilst off the clutch aka not changing gears) and the engine is revving, but your not going faster.. because the clutch is slipping and not transferring the power to the rear wheels. You'll normally get a clutch smell when this happens too. Hope this makes sense.
  22. Use the current clutch until it slips or you get sick of it. When it dies, just get a heavy duty clutch... 30% more clamping pressure, yet the same amount of pedal pressure. It will handle this mods and will not be severe to drive with at ALL. You could go for a sprung centre brass button but it's defintely not needed for your power levels, and you sound like you prefer to be able to slip the clutch a little.
  23. You're willing to risk your engine on that? Tuners are the MOST important component in building an engine. Bad tune, and it'll blow up in a matter of seconds. Can you take that sort of risk? Think of it this way - would the 10 people post seperate bad stories about him for 'no reason' ? Nothing to gain from this. He's certainly a good salesman, i've been up there once and was keen to use him, but heard so many bad stories I quickly changed my mind. I noticed someone above blame his dodgy mechanics... well that's beside the point... if a workshop is using bad mechanics, I'd never go to that workshop in general. It's a lot of money, and chasing warranty can be a massive headache. Don't go off speaking to this guy... there's plenty of other workshops out there !!! I can't believe, even after this thread where NO ONE has posted a good story, you'd actually still consider going there. Oh well, your money....
  24. At this rate, i'll be better off buying a PFC and leaning off my car to better AFRs a little to save on fuel usage !! It'll pay for itself rather quickly. Ouch - I'm not looking forward to filling up
