  1. i can get these rims repaired for around $200 a set...but it will have a silver lip on them as we cannot redo the bronze finish. They still look the goods though.
  2. Terry and Trish from Award do all our diff and gearbox work and come highly recommended for the quality of work. Great people too.
  3. Sometimes it a suck it and see approach...the list changes from box to box..i.e early 32 boxes require a different list to later 32 boxes and early 33 boxes the list is different again...its only the series 3 boxes 97 that are right and dont need the list. I think mine need 7 different parts to be ordered to get it right.
  4. well extremely surprised is an understatement...im gobsmacked this is some of the parts claimed to be used in the Sentra... stock block stock connecting rods stock pistons stock head gasket stock cylinder head stock cams stock cam gears stock timing belt stock crank stock intake manifold(slightly modified) Why is the rest of the world spending $20K+ building tough race long engines...the 'seppo's' are running high 7's with a long engine you can pick up in a wrecking yard! Adrian you know more than anyone that drag racers have records for everything
  5. I would be extremly surprised if the Sentra was running a stock stroke crank and STD 86mm bore. Mark's crank is a straight out of the box Nissan R33 item, and the engine was built by himself, Justin and Harry overnight after a failure during qualifing, and backed up the next day to run 8.274 to knock Croydon out of top spot in Aust. What an effort! Still the fastest RB26 GTR whatever the overpowered American hairdresser's car ran.
  6. The car was all over the track on this run and about 40mtrs before the line the crank angle sensor shat itself, hence the low MPH. Was a low 7.80 pass and was looking like a 180 MPH TS. Car was towed back to the pits and is yet to be assesed. Big backfire and no boost at the end of the run when it happened so it must have damaged something. but a highly sucessful weekend anyway with back to back 7.90's
  7. If it has cast pistons you may be able to get away with a set of forged pistons and a hone. Forgies need a greater skirt to bore clearance so depending on the amount of wear you might not need to bore oversize.
  8. no it will need a hone, a glazed worn bore will not allow the rings to properly bed in. Depending on the wear you may be lucky and just get away with a honing the cylinders. If too worn an excessive skirt to bore clearance will make the engine "breathe" too hard and also ring end gaps may be excessive.
  9. the shaft should have OS giken clearly etched into it. Gear teeth are a lot more chunky compared to STD.
  10. right...the 60' was 1.27 so up there but not quite a PB. Mark hit the limiter in 1st so even quicker times are on the cards in the finals tomm. Car was gunbarrel straight and in the groove the whole run with a 1/2 track MPH of 141. MPH shows 7.80's are achieveable in the eliminators tomm. This makes the car the 3rd fastest GTR in the world and the quickest 2.6ltr RB 26 in the world.
  11. they are here...car just ran 7.96 @ 176.6 MPH...full report on the run to come
  12. his information is sort of correct...up until last month ignition was packaged with hpi...not any more. available from autobarn, supa cheap auto etc now.
  13. wow...if you want the truth you go to the top. this is a response to the claim SCAT rods are made in China from SCAT CEO Tom Lieb... Paul, Thanks for your enquiry, I hope the following information answers a few questions. 1st There are 8 different rod factories in China 2nd There are no rod factories in Taiwan. There are "Trading Companies" in Taiwan that sell rods that are made in China, but no factories. 3rd SCAT designed the 3/8" bolts in conjunction with ARP. We have them made with and without the SCAT logo. We use the bolts with the SCAT name in all rods by SCAT and sold under the SCAT brand label. When we sell to Brian Crower and other per their request, we finish those rods with same bolts but without the SCAT I.D. on the bolt. We also sell bolts separately both ways. 4th Rocket and others in Australia are big buyers of rods, but very few bolts. 5th If you go to the SCAT website; www.scatenterprises.com, on page 6 and 15 of your 2008 catalog you will see pictures of the SCAT Rod Dept. at our USA location in Redondo Beach, California. It also describes what procedures are preformed at SCAT. 6th It is no secret that SCAT buys rod forgings in China. The quality of forgings from China is as good as you are going to get any place in the world. What is not so good is getting finished product like all our competitors do. This is why SCAT does what we do in Redondo Beach, CA. If you are in the Los Angeles area we would be very happy take you on a tour of our state of the art crank and rod facility. 7th Question: If Spool is buying rods from Taiwan aka China without bolts, how are the rods machined without the proper bolts, torque property, etc. The proper bolts can only be used a few times before they are stretched beyond use. Does Spool have a modern CNC machining facility like Scats' to insure quality every time? Just a question. SCAT makes 56 different "Sport Compact Rods", Forged Stroker Crank for the 'B' Series Honda and Air Cooled VW. SCAT also makes Billet Cranks for all engines up to 40" in length and 10" in diameter. How can we help you. Regards, Tom Lieb CEO
  14. each of the reciprocating components is individually weighed and any irregularities are adjusted (by removing material from the heavier ones) the crank is mounted on a balancing machine and spun to measure any problem areas. Material is then removed from it to make it operate true.
  15. yep sure is...if you threw two more catergories in like Street and Show i think we would be in with a fair chance. mark and russels car runs blistering circuit times, runs 10.2 at the strip and makes over 400KW at the tyres so its a great 'allrounder'
  16. doesnt need to be done...Berry/Neuman GTR is the best overall car...no doubt
  17. the Dsport DVD im talking about like ive said before "i may be DiRT, but im not cheap"
  18. ***UPDATE*** Tonight in the 2nd round of qualifing the car ran an Australian record equaling 8.07. MPH was 173 with a better 60' of 1.27 Car was turning the tyres hard off the line but due to the lack of a slider clutch is something that will have to be put up with. Car is unloading the tyres front to rear after grabbing 2nd gear but is running straight as an arrow (unlike sydney where it wanted both lanes) Lambda readings on the MoTeC show the car is running rich in the air conditions at the track. A harder leaner tune will be tried tomm for a shot at the elusive 7. stay tuned
  19. how do i get a copy ?
  20. Cool...i get a gig....and im on the cover
  21. BCPR6ES's come in 0.8's and 1.1's id go the 0.8's if your running more than stock boost
  22. yeah it looks like someone has been washing their engine and letting water sit in the plug holes
