Australia's fastest GTR is on track to run a 7 sec pass this weekend at the winternationals. With a lazy launch 1.35 60' and wheelspinning on gearchanges the car stopped the clocks at 8.16 and blasted through the traps at 171MPH into a strong headwind. With further setting the car up for the conditions and a better 60' (PB is 1.23) a 7 sec pass is obtainable. Further updates will follow tommorrow night with the 2nd round of qualifing to be held at 7pm. well done to Mark, Justin, Harry and the team (Julie, Tommi and Ava)

My engine was making almost 900hp and soon to be making around 1100hp...small balancer is staying put. The larger balancer needs a lot more maintenance too, where as the smaller balancer is much more of a set and forget option for streeters. Who wants to be pulling of thier balancer every few 1000klm's for maintenance....not me

Nitrous is very hard on gudgeon pins...bigger turbo please. ive just done the same thing...tossed up between putting a bigger turbo on our set-up and turning on the gas (i already have a kit installed in our car)...i went with a bigger turbo

Thats what im doing...i have a late model R32 diff which is actually a R33 non v-spec diff. Terry from Award Gearbox and Diff in Sydney says these diffs are the best GTR centres (bigger hemispheres and 31 spline 33mm 1/2 shafts) and are excellent after the Nismo kit is put through them.

lets put this into perspective... there is only a handful of us in the country to go sub 10 in a GTR on radials....if it was easy and cheap to do their would be a lot more. the pre track talk was "it will run a few 9's then it will be turned up to try for an 8" i nearly fell off my seat! I know John personally and have a lot of respect for him and his car, but its just not that simple. Many factors need to be addressed before 9's let alone 8's are a reality with any car, let alone an 1100hp GTR. Im sure John will run a 9 soon and i hope he gets rid of the slicks and runs it on radials. RH9 = Record Holders 9 seconds GTR

yeah...it then made 1100hp with the T88-38GK it may have been John's first time at the track with THIS car...but he's got more runs under his belt than most (previously ran a R32 GTR into the mid 10's as well)
