  1. Spotted the Queen St smash Fezza in Bankstown yesterday.. meh.
  2. You do lose a few kilos by removing the HICAS unit in R33's. Its a heavy bugger.
  3. Ditto... I use the oil pressure as a guide until i get some way of reading oil temp (ie. R35, not just a sensor ) If the oil pressure rises with revs, oil aint ready!
  4. yea, aftermarket boss kit usually. Hicas isnt active till over 80km/h which would explain why you're getting at speed only.
  5. An auto non turbo skyline!? do they even exist eww
  6. lots. buy a local, get warranty. same spec. bout the same price. GTR is very aggressively priced compared to jap import + compliance. Beer Baron will vouch for this.
  7. Do jap cars have rollover protection which shuts off the fuel pump? I've heard of this in some cars... It could very well be the car think its rolling due to the massive change in g forces?
  8. Theres not much point someone sending you eq and crossover settings.. Its likely to sound just as crap. The reason for having the adjustability is so you can suit it to your own vehicle acoustics and speaker characteristics. You just need someone who can tune a system properly. With decent gear like that it shouldnt be too difficult. You just need a keen ear. Here's a good article. Follow this step by step: http://community.crutchfield.com/blogs/av_...hannel-amp.aspx Make sure you start with a flat eq. In my opinion though stay away from EQ settings entirely. I've always found that they unbalance the sound and introduce clipping because you're boosting frequencies which the preset thinks you should boost.. It will bost them over your pre-set max volume level as described in the artive i posted. The idea that all "rock" songs fall into a single EQ setting is ridiculous. Unless you've got a very good ear for tuning a system I'd just leave them flat - and even then only use a custom eq to REDUCE a frequency which is noticably clipping during a song. Be wary of increasing bass with EQ's. They throw your tune out the window because your splits will start to clip pretty quickly, and in some head units it adjusts the subwoofer level as well, meaning your subs will be clipping (ie. bad news!). Hope that helps!
  9. fear and loathing in los vegas
  10. Come on dude... Google is SO much faster than waiting around for someone to reply!
  11. If the same hardware worked fine in your last car then whats changed? Wiring? You didnt mention how much power you're drawing..
  12. A capacitor will solve your problem with your headlights dimming. Basically its the same as the battery but is designed to release charge much faster, and is perfect for huge drains of power like when bass drains power. Make sure that your earth connections are big enough also. Often if the earth for the amp isnt large enough and isnt grounded properly you with cause an unnecessary drain on your battery. Unless you're pulling in excess of 800w RMS then your headlights shouldnt dim unless your current battery is shit, or your wiring isnt up to scratch. Replace your current battery with a deep cycle unit - Odyssey or the like. Use 8 gauge earth wiring on your amps for anything under 800wrms... 4 gauge for anything above that... Installing a 2nd battery should be your last resort, and you would want to upgrade your alternator to go with it or you're wasting your time really. For cheaper you could make your current system run properly.. Your car uses bugger all driving along anyway, so if you're worried about being able to sit there for a while and play PS3, you're not going to get much benefit from having a SECOND battery... beause the first battery will be almost fully charged when you stop anyway..
  13. The "rattling" sound when you've got the clutch disengaged sounds like the common thrust bearing/gearbox noise.. Nothing to worry about if its more of a grinding noise - its fairly commmon. Very nice car by the way!
  14. Im surprised you could understand what he was saying... Most of the stuff I hear yelled from cars just comes out "AYOURRAAAHHBRGGERR... HAHAHA".... Actually...most stuff I've heard coming from concreters mouths in the best conditions resembles AYOURRAAAHHBRGGERR anyway...
  15. No doubt owned by David Bowden: http://www.bowdensown.com.au/cars/phase4.html
  16. Yeah ditto... Mine doesnt quite fit the curved contour of the bar properly. Havent fitted it, but I dont think it's going to make much difference as carbon isnt the easiest stuff to bend!
