Forgot to take receipt of Payment for my vehicle to the licensing centre however, and after 45mins of sitting and waiting to be served was told it is imperitive this is with you or they wont license it (Proof of ownership-Had everything but that! ) So now have to wait 'another' day

Ok..... Put my car over the pits today. In WA it costs 50 odd bucks, this gets you only 'one' go...not two as it used to be (another money grabbin Gov scam!)....$150 if a SEVS car (I know this because they tried to charge me it) This bit of compliancing / licensing process is going to change dramatically for everyone no matter what state your in, as your Pit experiance is pretty much directly effected by the inspector you get (Some things dont change) For me I got one hell of an old Miserable barst*d that I dearly wanted to punch in the head, especially after a few remarks about the age of my vehicle and why I would want one as most people sell cars at 15years because there 'Heaps of Sh*t', and a few other surly ****y remarks. Anywho he took all of 5 mins looking at it 2 was spent looking for the engine number, 1 was spent trying to enter and exit the vehicle (old prick!) the other 2 he checked all lights, checked fuel filler neck, looked underneath and got me to go lock to lock on steering. That was it, didnt check seatbelts, tyres or placard, rear child restraint points etc. (Basically I think he just went with what was on the engineers report) Still failed my car due to not having an approved imobilzer fitted (Has car alarm) so have to take it back tommorow and quewe for another 30mins to pay another $50! to get licensed.....I HATE THE PITS!.

Ok put car over pits today. Turns out girl on phone that told me the only two licensing centres for imports are O'connor and East Perth was full of sh*t as I took mine to Kelmscott Didnt even check the rims and tyres, or Placard.... I'd say yes the laws correct they have to be licensed with what they came with from the factory, but pit inspectors are to 'uneducated' to know any different if you were to run 17's or 18's im guessin. (heck he even had to ask me what sort of car it was...and was it auto or Manual!..?)

Err..no New Turbos BTW, whats the going rate on Standard RB26 Turbo's these days? (They appear to be in perfect working order and dosnt appear to have any evidence of a boost controller fitted)

I bought the Trust / Greddy Front / dump pipe combo.... Would'nt bother fitting the factory heat sheilds again for reasons mentioned above...plus they ruin my new exhausts good looks I've been told Turbo's have to be removed to fit the dumps So may as well upgrade while i'm there, as I don't want to do that job twice.

Oh well the R32 GTR isnt doin to bad considering its a Single model.... Maybe I should have broken the Poll down to R32 GTST, R32GTS4, Four doors and 2 doors etc....?

I dont know if its been mentioned in the thread already (did'nt read it all) but i'd just like to say the standard headlights are 'Shite'..! No way good enough for the cars performance.

Ok, rang the DPI WA today to enquire about what they will and wont license on my R32 GTR.....as expected I got the stereotypical surly responses to my questions. The long and short of it is...they will only license it with what it came from the factory, that being 225/50/16's. I can put it over the pits again after its licensed to register it with the 18" R34 GTR rims, but not before...... Anywho I have sorted my dilema and have found a set of Factory R32 GTR rims that I can borrow for the day (Thanks anyway Haze ) Also in Perth the only 2 licensing centres that do Imports are O'connor and East Perth I'd still be curious to hear of anyone that has licensed there GTR with 17's + I reckon you could still do it as long as thats what your Tyre placard says as the inspectors really know 'F' all about various cars factory specs

If your that keen to 'buy local' would'nt you have bought a Commodore instead of a Skyline in the first place? For me I will definately buy local if they are the same cost and quality, if the imported item be cheaper and similar / same quality then thats what i'll buy...
