  1. theres lots of 4wd's as i have described. could be a nissan patrol, cruiser etc, could be a volvo or yes even a legnum. i just thought it would be fun to make everyone guess.
  2. thanks for all your advise and comments guys and girls. this morning i picked up a 2000 model, silver, 4wd, sunroof, etc only 38k on the clock. registered in SA allready so thats a bonus. we have only done a 100k's so far so its early days but me and the family are most impressed so far. now just to work out what to do with the muppet bus. 330 rwkw sedan anyone?
  3. im running a 044 intank, using a efi v8 falcon fuel sock retrofitted to suit the bottom of the 044. simple install and no issues with 5 ltrs in the tank around corners etc. only way to do it IMHO. note the clear fuel hose i have mounted around the pump absorbs all the vibration, so its very quiet.
  4. the vl is also a auto. so would be reading higher power if it was a manual. but i agree ls1 ls2 's are shit. jap technology has been around for near on 20 yrs, yet aus keeps producing this heavy underpowered garbage. why have imports become so popular? because the amount of car you get for your money simply cant be matched in aus. i for one would never buy another aussie car. (4x4 excluded as japanese dont really use them.) look at were ford is heading with the xr6 its about time they got rid of the "found on rubbish dump" attitude that most people over 30 have of them. the old ea falcon etc were an absolute discrace to ford, and should never have been produced with a made in australia claim. surely we can make something better then that. holden flirted with the jap tech with the vl and for the life of me i cant see what positives they gained by canning it. they had a light family car that went well. why stop making them. especially when you watch that vid above showing a 88 model car easily beating 20 yrs of holdens technology. what a joke.
  5. at 400 rwkws i would be starting to think about 2 044 to give you some room to play. as i mentioned earlier 1 x 023 would be simply running out of legs.
  6. just looking at my options. im on the hunt for a legnum because the kids are getting a bit big for the 33, and the boots arnt massive as you would all know. not sure whether i sell the car as is or seperate it? anyone else want the title? although i think satanic has taken it from me now with a 2630.
  7. i have a fully built 25 with all the extras for $12k if your interested. everything included turbo etc with a manual it would easy do 350 rwkws. currenty running a auto with hi stall to 330 rwkws motor done less the 15k of local shopping trips.
  8. have any of u driven a the new 6 lt comodore? a mate has the brand new maloo ute. he kept raving about it so i jumped at the chance when he offered me a drive. 6 speed manual 300 and whatever kws at the engine, exhaust etc , and i was most disapointed. it would pull a 30 foot yaught up a big ass hill at 2000rpm but it just didnt want to rev. felt more like a turbo diesel to me.
  9. isnt the 023 rated less then a 044? could be upgrade time
  10. to me it sounds like he is trying to screw you out of some money for work not done. if the car was there for 3 days how much actual time would they be working on your car? 1 hr per day? what power are you aiming for? unless you are over 400 rwkws i would say 3 hrs at a max so maybe rethink your dyno choice for now.
  11. pfffff who needs a cold intercooler. use the bottle for what it was intended and ram a 200 hp shot of nos into the plenum like that clevo did. 208 kws without nos 369 kws with nos that would have got the crowd going, 2 bar and nos to make 500 rwkws.
  12. all auto skylines that im aware are 4.4 the manuals are 4.1 the 34 gtr is 3.9
  13. aaaaarrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh all these people trying to take my title. thats it ive had enough. 2.5 bar, and a guts full of race fuel. dam u manual cars.
  14. the higher the car is on the roller the more weight is distributed onto the roller. if its at about 60% almost half the rear of the cars weight is not pushing onto the roller. therfore some sort of wheel spin is likely. if its on top of the roller then 100 % of the rear weight is transferred onto the roller.
  15. lol u should feel the 25.4 psi one i have i will bring it with on saturday, if i remember for a show and tell between cars.
  16. im still running the 18 actuator, i took it to shaun on tuesday but when everthing is hot as hell its a joke to even contemplate getting in there. so i wil change it in a few weeks when i have 2 hands again.
  17. i woundnt bother spending the cash and r & d time on a soilid conversion, or disabiling the vct. a 26 head has everything you want and would be a lot cheaper and flow more. failing that a 26 headgasket will block of the vct oil feed. prob fixed.
  18. not strapped at over 300 kws? eeeek mine squirms a fair bit with straps, i would hate to imagine just wheel chocks. sounds to me like a visit thru the dyno wall would be inevitable. and old mates car made 360 rwkws while strapped down, we then took the straps off so it was actually just chained from going forward to far. this aloud it to get up on top of the rollers, first run it went to 385 rwkws. we then all jumped in the boot, and the next run managed 404 rwkws. no settings were changed just 3 runs one after the other. but to the the original question, yea the dyno operator can do the initial run at 3/4 throttle to show how crap its running, and power is down. they then root around looking at settings in your hc for a minute or two and then do a second run at full throttle. bang 30 kw gain. that'l be $300 thanks. so yes there are bad operators out there. but i highly doubt crd would be one of them.
  19. Steve its looking like thursday morning. i have a appointment with my surgeon at flinders first thing then i will head over. the white one
  20. Dam roller door at home bit me. long story but lets just say i was wrestling with a rachet to tension the spring in the centre of the door and the rachet won! im dynoing the 33 in the morning then i will head to work for a few hours, but i want to try and get out to see the legnum by about 3:30
  21. hmmm now were talking free beer.... consider the legnum sold steve. boot full of beer sounds awsome. hence buying a wagon....fit more in. heres a pic of the aftermath of surgery.
  22. No probs steve, hopefully i can get our there tuesday to have a look.
  23. he has a nice dyno setup and certainly knows how to strap the car on for max traction, but seems to struggle with ebc setups 10 minutes dyno time = $200 WTF? and this was on several occasions never again.
  24. so what time at the pb place? 9.30?
