  1. i have a new q45 that has 4 wires. running 325rwkw's thru a auto.
  2. 4 door turbos are 4 speed with a lock up convertor which often feels like an extra gear but sadly it isnt. just 4 speed however i have seen a non turbo 4 door r33 gts that had a 5 speed auto. so maybe look into this.
  3. due to all the blue junk being stuck onto the idler this makes a uneven surface for the belt to run on which inturn makes the noise.
  4. not sure if its relivant but with my r33 i had a similar prob, there was a engine control fuse which was blowing due to a intermitent earthing of a wire at the ox sensor on the dump pipe, which had perished due to the heat. this also disabled the idle control solenoid, and the stock ebc wiring, i just ran a new earth. and positive
  5. a picture says 1000 words..... thats the stuff i was talking about. noisy as all hell. genuine nissan ftw
  6. grab all 3 dyno printouts showing afr, boost, and torque.
  7. base timing at 15 btdc your ignition at max load / torque should be around the 17 - 19 degree mark, from my experience.
  8. i have nismo 550cc and they are pink
  9. how much boost are you running? and how much do you want to run?
  10. whats the base timing set at and whats the max load timing set at?
  11. i found that the fancy blue stuff on the outside of the belt starts delaminating and sticking to the brand new idler and tensioner. this then created a ruff surface for the belt to run on and inturn caused EXESSIVE amounts of noise. put a nissan belt on and its been whispper quite ever since.
  12. i personally would never use a gates belt again. stick with a genuine nissan belt. cant go wrong.
  13. how was the tuner holding the gate shut and what was he wanting to achieve? what's the psi of your actuator? 17psi? i run the 17 psi with the pfc ebc at 52% to sit nicely on 1.8 bar. so im guessing if your ebc isn't handling the fine line between gate open and shut very well. if you back some timing out of it and then aim for 20psi to try and find a happy spot with the gate half open, maybe that would work.
  14. 044 intank Joel nice work. you planning on making some more power soon or just a preventitive measure?
  15. he fellas looking at the dyno graph with the ebc on it looks very similar to a issue i had wen i first installed my gt3582-iw .82 but that was resolved by changing tuner, to one that had a better handle on the do's and dont's of the pfc ebc. now i have no issues at all and im still running the standard gate port size. im also running a lot higher boost 24psi, and keeping it within 1 psi from full boost to the 7.5k limiter. so maybe spend a bit more time working on the ebc setup. off topic the other day going up a large hill i was able to keep the car in overdrive at 2500 rpm and i found it was making 5 psi. i was fairly impressed by this seeing as its a 700hp turbo on a rb25
  16. disconecting the waste gate actuator and wiring open the gate will help stop the turbo creating boost as long as you stay below 3.5k rpm, so will help you get from a to b without causing exessive force on the turbo if it is infact damaged or faulty. but first things first. start the car and use a long screw drive as a stethiscope. if you have a stuffed bearing, or impeller you will be able to here it thru the handle of the screwdriver.
  17. would it be more simple to stand a large screw driver up on the centre catridge of the turbo and stick your ear on the handle and listen. saves pulling the dump off. 10 sec diagnosis, if its noisy as hell and whirring or growling then pull the waste gate actuator off and wire the flap open so you can still drive your car. if its purring nice and smooth you can disregard the turbo as faulty.
  18. brand new 400r $200 delivered
  19. one of my creations. yamaha 05 model yfz450 quad with a 06 model zx10r ninja engine. ive had it up to 180kph across a paddock, but the tyres are'nt speed rated so they grow a fair bit.. grrrr. but its geared for 230kph at the limiter in 6th. i will find some motard tyres for it and bring it along to the next dyno day.
  20. that whole section from turbo to cat in the pic is the stock exhaust. there is nothing there that is 3 inch . the stock exhaust is around 2 1/2 inch which is what you have there. is the rest of your exhaust the same as that? if so its just a stock system. thro the lot in the bin and get a propper 3 inch or bigger exhaust from turbo back.
  21. 3000 pound car with 430 rwhp gives me a 11.1 quater. does thins sound about right? now given the fact that auto with a high stall will allways read lower on the dyno then a manual, and the fact that the convertor that was linked above dosent allow for auto or manual it may be faster then 11.1 sec? high 10 on full slicks maybe?
  22. theres no drag strip in SA so its a trip to melbourne i guess.
  23. if a auto r33 gtst can get to 180kph in under 10 seconds with the first 100m sideways, roughly how quick would one asume it could finish the quater mile?
  24. are you taking the piss or what? 302 kws on stock injectors at 75% duty? wtf?
  25. with the 33 auto if you unplug the brown electrical plug near your drivers headlight it will lock the trans in 3rd so 1 2 4 wont work \have a look if you have a big brown plug near your headlight
