I am looking at buying a 4.5 duel fuel Patrol, either manual ST or a TI (would have to be auto) and am keen to know what money they are worth at auction, anyone that can help out?
-
Plenty of good vehicles available locally which fit you bill, for a V-specII you will need to be looking upper end of your price range, getting one out of Japan nowadays is pretty pot luck, of the 1303 built 1500 seem to be in Aus already, and the ones left in Japan **apparently** attract good money when they come up for sale.. Check the for sale section there was a great example listed there recently Just checked the for sale section, Fishpaste has the car for sale but is $29500, and deserves to be $32+

Have a white iPhone 4 for sale, 16gb, brand spankers, in the box, still sealed in plastic. Will happily give buyer a copy of the Telstra receipt (with my details only blanked out) If you want a photo, type "id10t" into Google. $600 shipped, $650 delivered to Penrith.

wa Aussie Delivered R32 Gtr 1991
iplen replied to Frank rb25 zed's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Seat trim and color under the bonnet are a bit strange.... -
Thanks Matt, I figured the seller was an idiot, all the shots are the same car.. But has the ST stickers, TD bonnet, TI interior, 4.8 motor, is listed as 4.5l 4.8 Petrol Diesel.. Was aware it had to be 10/01 onwards, and that it was a $25+k car.

Keeping the conversation going while I wait for carsales to pick up the report, but just VERY slowly... Was aware the car was worth more like 22k, but as I said, thought it was just an idiot seller. Oh well...
-
yeah, have since reported it to Carsales... I thought the ad had been written by an idiot who didn't know what their car was, but the strange details combined with this e-mail... back looking for a car..
-
Just wondering if any members live around the Cudlee creek area, and based on the fact there only 700ish people there would know of the bloke who's car I am looking at... Name is Michael Gray, the car is a GU Patrol Ti.. have recieved this e-mail back after enquiring about it. I confirm that the car is immaculate technically and aesthetically speaking. There is no outstanding finance on the car, also the car comes with a full service history and RWC. The last price, including door to door delivery, is $12800.(with shipping costs included!) I love this car and i am very upset at having to sell it,it has served me well but i just moved to High Wycombe, WA and i can't afford to keep it and i need the money fast so i can pay off some debts. The car was advertised on eBay as well and i will run the transaction only under their terms and conditions for our own protection. A deposit of $4900 is requiered to buy my car and reserve it for you. We will use eBay Buyer Protection Program (BPP) which will hold the deposit until you receive the car. Your funds will be 100% insured by eBay. You will have 5 days inspection period, so you'll be able to see and inspect the car before buying it. If you don't like the car after inspection or is not as i've describe it, you can reject the deal. If you need more information regarding the transaction just visit the following web page from eBay 's website : http://www.ebay-australia-buyer-protection.au-overviews.com/Carsales/ If you are interested in this car please provide me the following details in order to start the transaction through eBay : -Your Full Name and Shipping Address -Your eBay ID -Any negative feedback and if so .... for what reason .

Just check out Handbrakes 4.5 turbo build... As tempting as this is, I currently have a broken RB (not very broken) and a broken 4AGE, which goes with a stripped rally car.. 200rwkw patrol sounds mighty fun... But I want 1 reliable car, might do the mods mentioned by FineLine to help fuel usage, but otherwise I will just drive it..
-
These new motors are crazy, wish I could pick up 120kw from a tune... Who wants to put one in a GTR???
-
I had the GQ until a couple of years ago, pretty sure it won't be as agricultural as that... As far as the petrol vs diesel goes Arthur, I can get a 4.5 petrol for mid teens, and have possibly found a 4.8 for that money too, or for the same money I can get a shagged 80 series with 500k on it. The same truck in the 4.2td is about 35k.. 20k buys a hell of a lot of gas... And the 4.8 apparently blows the td into the weeds.. Thanks fineline, confirmed what I suspected, the GQ had headers and exhaust on it, loved the sound!!
-
Sounds a lot like when my 32 sheared the shaft and spat the turbine out, changed from second to third, POP, no power, black smoke... was actually slower when I blew an intercooler pipe off, but I still had 1 turbo left...

Yes, they drink like Boony on an intergalactic flight, But thats what LPG is for.. I was not looking to buy a car, then I stumbled across a cheap Autech Stagea (I loved my RS4...) which somehow triggered the missus to say I could buy a car if I pissed off my broken Subaru.. then I started hunting and the Stagea makes no sense for me as a daily, I go to rallies, I like knowing I can get off road, camping etc, I need to be able to tow.. Apart from that I already have 1 RB to break, so why do I want 2 (esspecially a cheap one). My main thing with the 4.8 is what it's like on gas, (reliabilty) and has anyone played with exhaust etc to see if there are some basic mods which *may* help economy? Is there anything that people are aware of I should look out for?

Which Has More Potential In The Long Run?
iplen replied to TurboDoseBro's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Face....PALM!!!! Tyres, if you seriously believe what you wrote, buy a VT for $2000, put an old 308 in it, cause they don't even use a gen3, take the independent arse end out, chuck a big wing on the back, and beat us all. -
They are $2200 aud new, and a rebuild costs about the same as a new turbo, so honestly SFA.. You might get a few hundred

Whats The Catch
iplen replied to iplen's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Pricing does not include compliance or $1100 jspec fee, for some reason I thought their prices quoted used to include all of this, my bad -
Whats The Catch
iplen replied to iplen's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Rego etc is all stuff I would have to pay if the car was here or not, so that doesn't worry me so much -
Another way to check the coils is to have the cover off at night, and mine were sparking out to the sides, even just idling... But you have probably sorted it by now
-
I wasn't really looking at getting another car when I stumbled across a $13k Autech Stag on carsales, yes it has issues, but for the price still seems reasonable. So I went and checked imports 101 and J-spec, there are three Autechs on J-spec for $12k-$16k, and none of them note any problems, sure 100k+, but that probably just indicates the speedo has not been wound back as far. Is this pricing realistic or are there other fees (it shows the pricing as including everything)? if this is about right, Chef, Yahoo auctions doesn't show ANY stageas at all... I am not 100% set on an Autech, (a patrol would be more appropriate) but I loved my RS4..

This is very negotiable because I have found a replacement: 1989 Liberty GX AWD Wagon, Aircon (needs gas) Nice interior in good cond, Outside is a bit rough, and car is "mushroom" which is a metallic brown, unreg (passed blue slip about 5000k ago) with spun big end, body has about 230k on it.. Good Stuff: 03 2.5 Liberty bottom end (less than 40k on it), all new genuine rings and bearings, balanced to within 1 gram, both static and spinning, inc flywheel to harmonic balancer. 2.2 heads with Tighe cams and extensively flowed, completely rebuilt. Block has been modified to strengthen the head bolt holes (common problem with Subaru motors which have been pulled apart)K&N filter and Hitech Stainless cat back. All ancilleries pumps etc replaced or rebuilt, radiator done, timing belt etc. This engine is smooth and torquey, I put a lot of thought and research into, was guided by a Subaru Mechanical trainer. '03 Forester dual range gearbox (less than 40k again) with a Liberty diff, completely rebuild by the Subaru Mechanical trainer, Foresters have tall gears, with short diffs, Libertys are the other way round, this has bought revs at 110 down by about 400rpm, less noise and less fuel on the highway. Exedy Heavy duty clutch, again very few ks. The old motor struggled with standard gearing, going from Bathurst to Lithgow I had to change down 4-5 times, new motor with taller gearing does not even think about it. '04 WRX Sedan struts (less than 10k) fronts spring SEATS have been modified to sit even front to rear, This car handles better than my R32 GTR, balance is brilliant. '04 WRX leather Momo, pretty new slotted front rotors, Tinted windows, RS turbo wheels, Falken Azenis (pretty old ones), pretty fresh front driveshafts. I am also happy to throw in some of the stuff I have left over: Old 2.2 block, Forester driveshafts, mid 90s WRX hatch struts, probably even the forester diff, towbar. This is a great car once the big ends are replaced, or could be stripped and sold for more than the asking price. $2k, I cannot be offended.

How Many High Rpm Launches Will A Gtr Box Take
iplen replied to zr200's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah, starting to think I might stay away from it a bit in the future... -
When I tried to say this 30 posts ago people got all precious and sinsitive...

Sounds mighty similar to "missing on boost" thread which is running now, that was fuel pump related.. See if you can borrow a pump..? How about AFMs?

What coils?

Zebra, get in touch with Danny Murphy from DMA motorsport in Melbourne, tell him Ian Plendo sent you... He ran a turbo Cordia for a while, with very little success... The prob was with it being turbo and torque steering, he may have some good ideas as to setup. FWD is HEAPS better on dirt as long as you do it right. PM me when you are doing an Amsag and I will come say hello, spent 2 years rallying a Camira (1 in amsag) and 2 years in an AE101 levin including winning the NSW p2 championship. Then moved onto AWD. My hint would be to look into limiting the amount of steering lock, this will drastically extend the lifespan of your driveshafts. We do it by getting nylon spacers in the end of the rack. The other thing is to get a feel for using your left foot on the brake, trick is to brake in with your right foot so you can use the clutch, then once you get the nose in go to left on the brake. I never actually used the handbrake much.
